I just had the sweetest experience here! One of the managers, Lane, took my order and he was super kind and friendly. He even gave me a free drink for being a rewards member! I got a lemonade and he asked if I wanted to add a syrup ... didn't even know that was an option. A very nice surprise & delight! I got the peach. Oh my gosh. So good. I rarely buy drinks from restaurants (I'm a water cup girly), but Lane put me on to something!! The food was yummy as always. Yesterday, my Mom and I went in for lunch. We haven't been there in years, but I thought why not? The positive experience pleasantly surprised us. When the kids were younger, we used to visit this place frequently, but life got in the way. The food was excellent, the staff was very professional, and the atmosphere was something we had been lacking. While the staff took care of cleanliness and customer satisfaction, everyone in the restaurant was having a great time. The bread bowl soup is gone -- instead, I was given a small cup of soup with toast on the side, which was disappointing. It wasn't filling at all, so I had to order a sandwich just to feel satisfied. It pains me to write this review....I was introduced to McAlister's in the mid-90's and it was often a source of comfort food during high school and college. Perhaps it's being franchised or just getting "too big," but their fall since that time is considerable. I ordered takeout from this location this evening and it was incredibly disappointing. My Reuben was virtually devoid of anything but corned beef.....it maybe had a teaspoon of sauerkraut and dressing. Honestly, it was really just an underwhelming, plain, corned beef sandwich. We also ordered a kid's turkey sandwich, which turned out to be one of the saddest sandwiches I've ever seen. ...90% bread and not toasted at all. Finally, they left off my potato salad which I didn't realized until I made it home and it was too late. I keep giving this location "another shot," and they continue to let me down. For sure one of my go to spots when I'm craving a sandwich. On rare occasion I will dine in, but I almost always get my order to go using their mobile app. Around lunchtime, especially during the week, this place is packed. It always seems like they're severely understaffed so wait times for food can take a bit, but the people that do work there are friendly and you can tell they are trying to do their best. Restaurant is fairly clean-there is usually someone coming around to wipe tables. Food is good, plenty of menu options to choose from. Every time I've gotten my order it's been accurate, tasted good, and packaged well. My favorite menu item is either a loaded baked potato or the King Club sandwich. I quickly proceeded to the to-go rack to get my order. When I approached the to-go rack, there were two employees by the rack who seemed to be arguing over whose soda was whose and failed to acknowledge me. 0/5 Order breakdown French Dip Sandwich - In general, I enjoy this high calorie sandwich, but this one not so much. I was expecting a true skirt steak or flank steak but that is not what I got as evidenced by the photos. The Au jus for the sandwich was extremely salty. While most folks know that a typical Au jus is made with thyme, salt, sherry, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder and onion powder, this Au jus seemed to be made with salt, beef stock and another mystery spice I couldn't make out. Overall, this was a complete miss for me. 1.5/5 The Reuben sandwich- The Reuben sandwich is an American grilled sandwich composed of corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and Russian dressing, grilled between slices of rye bread. This Reuben as pictured was a top of soggy Rye. Luckily I have been to many McAllister because if this was my first visit I would never come back! I ordered a chicken salad croissant, that only had a small spoonful of chicken salad on it! I wish I wasn't exaggerating! My husband took it back and they brought out another but without the lettuce or tomatoe. I was with a child that ordered a pizza with a cookie but unfortunately he couldn't eat tge cookie because it was BURNT! Not just over done and hard!! I think this is a very average deli with excellent iced tea. You know how you have a "go to" place for certain foods? Well, this is my go-to place for a club sandwich. My wife always gets the salad. So we have no opinions of any other items. The service, before COVID, was not very good. You walk up to the counter and order. I doubt any of these people are even there now since they have had to curtail their hours of operation due to "lack of staff". CHECK BEFORE YOU GO to see if they are open. So I won't go into the poor service in the past. Actually, it seems like the service is better now that some of that staff are gone. The sandwich comes with one side and (they say) a deli pickle. I haven't gotten the pickle in over a year so I just assume it's too much trouble to update the menu. I used to enjoy the pickle however. The side I always get is potato salad and it's very creamy and tasty. It is obvious it's packaged, but it's still good in my opinion. The serving side is about like one scoop of ice cream. It's plenty for me but probably not for the hungry teen age boy me of many years ago. I have to add that we visited here Tuesday for lunch. Drove by and Surprise! It was open until 5 pm. We were there around noon and service was good as was our regulars, a salad for the wife and a club sandwich for me. I had not eaten anything that morning and after chowing down I didn't eat anything else. Around 5 o'clock I was feeling pretty queasy in the stomach. No aches or fever or anything, just that "too full" feeling you get and you know you better lay off the food for awhile. Then later that evening it hit, dirreah! Thought it had passed, but this morning it hit again. At 2 pm today I feel like it's over now, and I don't know if that was what caused it or a bug from somewhere but it was quite a coincidence. Don't know that I feel like trying my old standby again anytime soon. They are struggling as are so many other places during COVID. Arrived at this McAlister's at roughly 4pm. There was ONE other customer in this restaurant. Ordered two meals consisting of two cold sandwiches, soup and a mac & cheese. The order took nearly 15 minutes! There were 4 people in the kitchen and one person was actually working on the order. The other 3 were standing around. There were 4 employees standing by the front registers doing absolutely NOTHING but talking and joking around. The manager was in the office working. It's absurd that it takes this long to throw together two small meals with no other customers or priorities. Once the order was put in the window the employee who was bagging asked a second time, "here or to-go?" He had just asked, clearly not even listening. He then proceeded to look for a bag, utensils and napkins, all things he could have done 5 minutes prior instead of standing around talking. Along with the food, this pathetic experience cost $20+. I was at this location probably a year ago and I don't recall it being a positive experience then either. Perhaps it's best to just avoid this place altogether from now on. read more

I stopped to grab my husband lunch. There wasn't a long line which is always great. I ordered him an Italian meat sub which he loved and I order a potato soup. As far as my soup I wasn't pleased with the texture of the soup. I've had other locations and this was off. Almost hospital purée like. It was a bit of a wait time a little over 20 mins actually. When my food came they called the incorrect name and then called the order items because no one stepped up but it was actually me. I repeated my order to make sure the cashier understood what I was ordering but it was still wrong. They charged me additional to upgrade my sandwich side to soup and that wasn't what I wanted. They told me I would have to pay for the side of chip separately which should have been more money so I said it was fine even though I had a short window to drop food off. We have had McAlister's twice a week for the past 2 weeks. Drink - they don't call their tea the famous tea for nothin'! Their tea is the best I've had. It comes in a super soft and delicious baguette and it's stuffed with generous amounts of turkey, cheese, greens, tomato, avocado and chipotle Mayo perfectly combined to make it a delicious bite each time! I love, love, love this deli! I've pretty much have had everything on the menu with the exception of the pastrami, roast beef or pork. I love that they allow you to customize because a lot of their sandwiches come with bacon so I always ask for no bacon. The always have order ready quick. I have the app (highly recommend you download it) so I place orders thru the app for curbside or pickup. Some locations have a drive thru window. Not this location but the people are always so nice. Another missing review. I have tried quite a few different sandwiches from McAllister's. My favorites have been the Classics: BLT and French Dip. The sandwiches are full of meat and toppings. I have enjoyed all that I tried. What I don't seem to like is their sides. The pasta salad and potato salad are too vinegary. The steamed veggies are mostly broccoli, not my favorite. So by default I order the mashed potatoes which aren't bad. Most of their sandwiches come with cheddar cheese so I ask to swap with swiss cheese. They do this gladly. Flavored teas and lemonade are pretty darn good. The flavors are sweet so if you order a flavor stick to the unsweet teas. There is a line to order about 75% of the time. They are pricer than other sandwich chains but you do get a side. I keep going back so I guess I like them. read more

We've been here roughly 20 times. The food is usually decent with the occasional nasty pickle and the staff is generally very friendly and on top of things. I enjoy their tea and the reward program. Always nice to get a free cookie or drink. The kids meal is a pretty good deal. They dropped the pb&j from one of the choices which was my kids favorite. The prices have also gone up.
