I'm from Dallas so have been around La Madelines for 30 years. In Dallas the quality of food prep and service fell off for awhile but is comming back. The displayed items at this shop as well as design and layout is very appealing I order a coffee and bran muffin for here. As I went to fill my coffee it was apparent the American container was empty and only a drop in the French. So I had to find someone and let them know. Order at the counter and service brings you the food. This French restaurant is more on the casual side which means you can go in gym shorts if you want. I tried several different plates and thought everything had good flavor. Portions were very good and prices were reasonable. Place is bright, well laid out. Perfect spot to eat and chat for hours. Overall, I cant comment on what used to be here after reading other reviews but I didnt see anything worth leaving a bad review. I knocked the rating because where you order everyone piles up there looking at the menu and its a bit annoying. Also I simply cant say I loved it but it was very good. I'd go back. read more

As pointed out in the other reviews, the manager's service here is exceptional. He is very attentive and has a great attitude towards his job. Despite La Madeleine not being a standard sit-down restaurant (with waiters walking around at your service), he made it a point to walk around and ask how everyone's meal was going. The food is very much typical of any La Madeleine I have been to, which I must say is very satisfying. The portions are good and overall delicious. The place is clean and parking is never a problem. We have been going to this location for years. They were one of our go-to restaurants all through quarantine. In the last few months the food has changed for the worse. The quiche taste old and warmed up. The chicken in the sandwiches isn't sliced chicken breast like it has always been; it is now drier and a bunch chunky bits instead. La Madeleine is a great place for lunch, they have a wide selection for entrees and desserts (the lemon tart is my favorite), but I always come here for the soup and salad. Their tomato basil soup is always great and I love all their salads with the addition of the balsamic chicken. You order at the counter and they will deliver the food to you and clear your table after. This location has a next patio area where you can enjoy your lunch outside when the weather is nice. I've always drove past this location, but never quite sat down and ate here before. i ventured to go here one random day and when I entered, I was immediately greeted by the manager. He took our order and was so kind and friendly. He was smiling enthusiastically and I knew that he enjoyed what he was doing. He was so genuine and sweet and it really made my experience all the more enjoyable. SALMON CAESAR I've tried this dish at other locations, but this location is the best! The salmon isn't over cooked and isn't too dry. There was just the right amount of croutons and caesar dressing. CHICKEN PESTO PASTA This pasta was so savory and wonderful. It was creamy and herby and the chicken was moist and perfectly seasoned. Overall experience: This has got to be the La Madeleine location ever! The service was phenomenal and the food was fantastic. I have been waiting for this location to open up as soon as I saw the renovations being made (since this was previously a blockbuster video). Last night was my first time visiting this location and I must say that I was dissapointed... I chose to order online just incase there was going to be a nice wait upon my arrival. The order site gave me a time that my order would be ready but I purposefully waited an extra 15 minutes just incase. I arrive at the to-go counter and I immediately could tell that many of the employees were new at what they were doing and not sure if they had been properly trained. I am finally gestured to the register, I proceed to tell the young lady my name and that I had an online order. She fumbled through her screen looking for it then called a manager. The manager helped her find it but to my dismay not only was my order not ready it hadnt even been entered for the kitchen to begin on it. I get home, my quiche is overcooked (eggs basicallly rubber) and the paella left me unsatisfied when comparing to the menu description. Dont get me wrong, the dish wasnt horrible but to say the shrimp was roasted (fail) more like heated then sprinkled with salt and pepper, the saffron was non-exsistent, and the chorizo... wait was there supposed to be chorizo? I understand that this is not a Spanish/Mediterranean tapas restaurant but spare me the appealing descriptions when it comes no where near the finished product. I will say the shrimp was cooked to perfect doneness... This morning I gave it another go since I dont like to have a strong negative opinion based off of one experience. I order the breakfast croissant and oatmeal. You really can't ask for much when ordering oatmeal so ill leave that alone. But since I loath cheddar cheese I pushed to have either Swiss or American. I get to work and find that they didnt use cheddar, good thing, but they also didnt use Swiss or American. I wouldnt have had an issue if the sandwhich had flavor but it seems that the only salt that one would get is from the optional meat choice or the cheese. We were actually headed to Pecan Creek Grille for breakfast and brunch on the day after Christmas, but they were closed. So instead we tried out La Madeleine in the same shopping complex. What a nice find for a decent breakfast or brunch option in the West Memorial/Energy Corridor area. They have a good selection of breakfast and brunch items including various egg dishes, crepes, cereals, baked goods, coffee, tea and juice. It is mostly self service though...you order at the counter, get your drinks, condiments, utensils, etc and seat yourself and they bring your order to your table. Not a problem for us, and it does make the prices a better value for the level of food quality. I thoroughly enjoyed my Custom Omelet with chicken, spinach and cheese, served with a croissant on the side. My brother had the healthier egg white Custom Omelet, served with a chunk of baguette which he also enjoyed. My mother ordered the American Breakfast with her choice of scrambled eggs, crispy bacon and croissant. That was enough food, but my mother insisted on also ordering a Crepe Romanoff to share -- warm cinnamon crepes topped with fresh strawberries and a cinnamon cream dipping sauce. I had a taste and thought it was decent enough. The display case had a tempting array of other baked goods but we passed this time -- my mother says the chocolate Sacher Torte is very good. They also serve lunch and dinner, and have a good selection of specialty coffees. Nice interior and outdoor patio seating. Will definitely be back, especially for the breakfast. read more

I have been to many La Madeline in different locations. And it has been hit or miss. But at this location the manager is super friendly and happy. Service is quick and fast. Tonight I came in here to pick up baguette and a dessert. My boyfriend asked me to pick up a sachertorte cake. The cake consists of a dense chocolate cake with a thin layer of rasberry jam in middle, coated in dark chocolate icing on the top and chocolate shavings on the sides. It was really delicious. I love love La Madeline!!! I'm a big fan of Panera and corner bakery however La Madeline takes the cake!!! I'm a huge fan of their quiche which is so hard to find at most breakfast spots. For lunch I always get down with their reduced fat tomato soup which tastes like full fat, hell yeah!!!! Think Nordstroms tomato soup with the same taste and half the calories and price!!! This spot is pretty convenient- strip mall location with loads of parking. Theres a decent amount of seating inside and out.... The reason I cant give this LaMad a 4star is the very reason I came here - wifi..., or dead wifi in this case. If getting a bit of work done while enoying cafe food is what you're lookin for- might have to rethink this location until they do a bit of hardware updating. Had brunch with my husband last Thursday morning - chicken salad croissant, Caesar salad and french onion soup. You can tell the salad wasn't fresh because it was all limp and was beginning to have a rubbery taste. The sandwich was great but the soup was just way too salty to even eat. One of the waitresses was so friendly and immediately replaced the soup with no hesitation. She brought me cream of mushroom, which I will gladly order whenever the Country Potato soup isn't available.
