The good: the service! I usually order the Avocado Toast, the plate is good for the price. I have tried some other plates on the menu, with some inconsistencies. I would say it's a friendly environment with plenty of parking space, which it's always a plus for Downtown.

Cute lil diner, reminds me of a train car. Plenty of parking outside. Friendly staff. I ordered a side French toast for 4.50 and it came with 4 pieces and sliced strawberries. My niece had the side pancake which comes with 2 for 4.50! Food was delish, made to order. Also had the cheesy grits which were thick but tasty. Overall I recommend this place for brunch. I'll have to come back and try their lunch/ dinner menu. Oh BTW they have brunch cocktails also until 3!

We were driving by on our way to another brunch spot and loved the diner vibe so decided to give it a go and glad we did. The service was great but the food was next level. We split the Salmon Omelette and a side of waffles. The salmon was seasoned-not dry and the rest of the omelette had delicious onions, bell peppers and cheese and was topped with Avacado. The potatoes were slightly crunchy and seasoned well. We also enjoyed the waffles and the butter was top notch. This is a cute hidden gem and I'm glad we found it!

Came here for Father's Day brunch and this was a cute diner. I love the feel of the old school diner and the service was great! We were greeted immediately and were seated immediately. The waiter was attentive and the menu options were plenty. Our food came out hot and tasty. I would absolutely return when in the area. The diner may seem small but there is outside seating as well. Parking can be limited but we had no issues finding a spot.

    Blackened Mahi Mahi Salad

Came here for lunch with some friends on a week day. It was a bit sad how dead it was since a lot of people work from home now. After browsing the rather extensive menu, I ordered the mahi mahi salad which is served on a bed of greens with jicama added. Asked the waitress for some shredded cheese because I love cheese in a salad, which the server happily obliged. The mahi was cooked very well, and the lemon vinaigrette complimented the salad nicely. It was a bummer to see how dead it was during lunch, but I'm not terribly surprised given the new norm of working from home that has affected this area's businesses.

The food here is amazing, and the staff is equally impressive! Sena and the Manager, Thomas, provide exceptional hospitality and service. I highly recommend this place to friends and family.

The place is located next to around the corner and across the street from the graffiti warehouse. Upon entry you will notice the menu plastered along the wall. You walk up to the counter, place your order , and then are given a number. I got the chicken and waffle with a side of bacon and eggs. The food was great and the place was quiet. A nice stop for a brunch on the weekend.

Food 10/10 (I got the chicken chipotle meal). Vibes are immaculate, good music and friendly staff. Will be back for sure, super cool spot

    $25 Salmon Kale Caesar Salad

Peeps. You know I don't do bad reviews. I'll just say this. Here is what they call a $25 Salmon Kale Cesar Salad. In fact it is a bland, dry piece of salmon on top of a handful of Kale and two small containers of store bought Cesar salad dressing. Proceed with caution.

We had some business to take care of in downtown so walked over to this restaurant for lunch today. Patty Melt - 3/5 - I ordered the patty melt and my wife ordered the Kobe burger. Both pretty much tasted the same. The bread was too thick and not the traditional rye. The steak fried were just okay as well. Kobe Burger - 3/5 - Just ok. No vegetables at all to speak of (other than grilled onions). Again, thought the bun was too thick for size of hamburger patty and other fillings. My wife "upgraded" to the truffle parmesan fries. Seemed like just the regular fries with a few drops of truffle oil and parmesan cheese powder sprinkled on top. Pancakes - 4/5 - Surprisingly the best dish of the meal which my daughter ordered. Food flavor, fluffy and perfectly cooked.

Honestly I would have never picked District 7 to eat but that's what happens when I put someone else (non-yelper) in charge to pick the place when I'm down for whatever. Typical diner look and feel, I mean unsuspecting cool spot but not bourgie enough for me...I'd pass right by it. That being said the service was really good, they greeted me as soon as I walked in the door. I chose a table outside and didn't wait long for service. I ordered a frozen peach bellini large, but really I didn't think it was that big so idk what the regular looks like. The taste was good. My companion ordered the bloody mary, I think she liked that nasty a-- drink enough lol how do ppl drink this! Lol For entrees we ordered from the lite bites menu which are just smaller portions of selected regular menu offerings. I went with the paella. There's a bit of a wait for this dish but I was surprised it tasted fairly well. Not the best I've had but added a bit of Tabasco and I jived with it. It was raining so we stayed longer and after that half portion of food, I was still hungry so we ordered a side of steak fries. Came out super hot and fresh! Our server was pretty good, not overbearing but she did stay away a touch too long sometimes. Also, she properly dealt with another table that was complaining about the temp of their food so kudos to her. My likeliness to return ain't that high, even though a couple of those pasta dishes looks fiyah, but it's a cool spot.

Wooowww I can't believe this place! This was the best food we had and all of Houston. It is in a tiny, metal, unassuming little restaurant on the side of the road. It looks like nothing from the outside, but when you go inside, it is the friendliest people ever. The waiter came over and had a full conversation with us, and we did not feel imposing or anything. While he was talking to us other people helps the other tables. They all worked together and all of the diners were having a great time. It's a very friendly place and the food is absolutely outstanding. We made substitutions and asked questions and they were very accommodating and helpful. We had a crab cake, chicken and waffles, and pancakes. They don't have a liquor license but they have a bunch of different drinks so we have a peach mimosa, Bellini, Moscow mule, and some other drinks. Absolutely terrific and I hope they stay this way.

    Delicious Brussel Sprouts Almondine! Excellent!

The ambiance as soon as you walk in is welcoming, inviting, and intimate. Even if you dine outside, you are sure to feel cozy like a meal in your own home. The hostess always makes you feel invited. Any waiter we have had here has given GREAT recommendations so it helps us break free of ordering the same thing over and over. We have never had a single day of bad service here so we have become regulars anytime we travel into the inner loop of Houston for business or fun. The flavors? My goodness the flavor here in every dish truly speaks to whoever is cooking these incredible dishes! We've even wanted to ask what we can do to even get our dishes at home this amazing! Their bang bang sauce is something you can rave about if you like a little kick to your broccoli. Yum! Luckily a lot of the appetizers are family style but we all still end up battling to finish the last bite before our main dish comes along! My husband has never been a vegetable eater and thanks to the Ginger Mule, we are changing up our dishes at home too! Beautiful presentation and the flavors were yummy of the Texas toast French toast, the oat whipped cream & maple syrup were great. The Jupiter breakfast was $21 & the GF French toast was about $12 with $4 fruit cup. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with my GF French toast. The mock-tail mule was nothing special for $9 of juice :/. In total we spent $58 which is a lot in our opinion. By all means it's not a bad spot and I'm sure other things you are good, but this was just our experience with what we got. There is a statue of a deity in the front of the restaurant & I welcome the Holy Spirit to come upon them all :). May Jesus be with them with eyes to see and ears to hear. I might have just found one of my new favorite restaurants in Houston. What a great experience!…read more Recently, a good friend dined here and immediately called me to tell me how great it was. She then text our friends group and said we all had to come together and we did just that. She made reservations in advance as this place is popular thanks to recent Michelin Bib Gourmand awards as well as many other accolades. Walk ins are welcome as well. Our reservation was later in the evening so after a night of bar hopping, we ride shared in which I think is one of the best options as parking is limited here or you have to find street parking in the neighborhood. This place is literally a house turned into a restaurant. Inside is just multiple rooms with a couple of tables. It makes for a unique, intimate dining experience, perfect for a date night. In our case, we were a group of nine so we got patio seating. The patio is spacious and well kept, and if the weather cooperates, a great place to hang. One thing that really stood out to me is the amazing ambience of this place. I was told that the bartenders pick the music for the night from the owners extensive vinyl collection. Once the album is in, they play it in it's entirety. The sound system was systeming and on top of the great company and food, we were totally vibing with the music. Customer service was amazing. Every staff member we came across was so friendly, especially our server. The menu here changes. There are some mainstays, but they like to change things up. Their website shows current menus daily. We were told that family style is the best way to experience this restaurant. I am one of those people that will always listen to the staff and go with their suggestions. Our group went through quite a bit of their menu from apps, entrees and desserts. I loved that our server and staff brought our food out one by one in what they thought was the best progression so we could take a culinary journey. We started off light with their popular Dilly Bread. Best bread I've had in awhile. Next was the Texas Tartare. It was my first ever tartare and it was delicious. We then moved on to Fingerlingin Good which was a crispy potato dish with chili crisp and mascarpone. It was potatoes elevated to the highest level and so so good. Next up was Beer Battered Sweet Tots. I didn't think sweet potatoes could be that good. Our first entree was a vegan dish called the Carroty Kid. I could seriously become a vegan if all dishes tasted like this. It was curried. A bowl of jasmine rice would've made it a complete meal. Next we tried another famous Nobie's dish called Nonno's Pasta. Handmade, perfectly cooked tagliatelle with a delicious bolognese. I wouldn't share this next time. Ok, I will, but it was that good. On to the heavier dishes. First up was the Jamon With Your Bad Self. This came highly recommended and it did not disappoint. It was favorite heavy entree. It was high quality, iberico pork steak with shaved brussels and all kinds of other tasty ingredients that when combined made such a tasty bite. We then went to the sea with the Drops of Grouperter. It was good, but not something I would order again. It was a little too smoky for my liking. Our biggest dish that came market priced was the Kick His Ass Seabass. This was a whole fish that was presented beautifully on a platter with all the accouterments to make your own elevated fish tacos. We left no morsel of fish behind. It was absolutely delicious. One of the things this place is really known for is their pies. This was the part I was most excited about. Just like their menu, their pies change up. We got all their offerings that night which they presented on one big platter of goodness. Their main stay and I believe always on the menu is the famous Olive Oil Cake. It's not a pie, but I can see why this is such a popular dessert. I can't even describe it, you just have to try it to understand. The pies we had were the Black Bottom Strawberry Pie, Banana Rum, and the Peanut Butter Pie. I would order all of them again. We all had a difference of opinion on which was the best, but my fave was the Banana Rum. Overall, I was highly impressed with this place and kind of mad at myself for waiting so long to make it here. It had made it's way to the top of my list of favorite restaurants in Houston. I will be back.

He ended up being one of the best aspects of our experience that evening. Our waitress wasn't nearly as good. We started by asking for ice in the water from the waitress since they just give you room temp water. After 10 mins of seeing her serve other tables and ignoring our request, we then figured the water boy would make it happen...and sure enough he did. We then ordered the grilled oysters, which are very lightly cooked, almost seemingly steamed more than anything, but they were very good regardless of the cooking method with the sauces and garnishes and pickle juice added. Next up was ordering the entrees. The menu here is a little strange with numerous vegan choices with strange titles and only a few items with protein. To top it off, there are not many choices period. The waitress explained that the left side is basically the apps, and the right side is basically the entrees. I knew I wanted to try the wagyu flat iron steak which is priced pretty high here, compared to other wagyu flat irons I've had at other restaurants across the US. We couldn't really decide on a 2nd main dish then the waitress mentioned the off the menu special which was a scallop pasta so we picked that thinking it sounded delicious. The entrees come out about 15 mins later, and we take our first bites and we both thought, oh no, if we share the other person across from me isn't going to like this dish because it's too salty. I tried the steak first and noticed the sauce being extra salty, then I tried the pasta and the pasta was way worse, but the scallops didn't seem to be affected. We immediately told the waitress the next time she stopped by....and she just said okay, and walked away. I figured she would go get the manager....but nope...she just kept on serving other tables. At this point we thought to ourselves only the oyster app was decent.....and no reason to look at the dessert menu since we had already spent over $100 on food we could hardly eat. Sure enough, the waitress stops by a 2nd time and asks if we'd like to see the dessert menu. I couldn't leave fast enough and told her we'll skip. Needless to say we both left hungry as the portions were not only not edible, but also fairly small. The water boy also stopped by and offered to turn on the heater if we get cold. Boy, I wish he was our waiter instead. For a supposedly Michelin-starred restaurant, I feel they really got this one wrong.
