Once you had it, you can't go back to the American Roast. Also check your receipt. You can take the survey and you can redeem a free pastry or coffee drink. NOTE; Also...on some mornings if you come for breakfast, try not to sit at the table at the very corner by the windows near the bathroom. The food was a health concern. I must say that had Marvin Zindler still been around, he would have shut this place down. 'SLIME OR SOMETHING VERY STRANGE IN THE FRUIT!!' That is exactly what I experienced, and I have not been back since June of 2026. The restaurant is beautiful, but if they could do much better as far as cleaning the tables, floor, and dishes, it would be my weekly go to. The service is average because certain people are treated special, and the Eldridge location can be a very bias atmosphere. LaMadeline has no excuse when it comes to giving customers the best of service, food, and ambiance. I feel that money is the main reason this restaurant still exists, and they only want to satisfy certain customers. This restaurant has too many health regulations for me to risk coming into contact with a bacteria that will send my health spiraling. Why am I so compassionate in writing this review? La Madeleine is a very cute little restaurant to get watered down French food. However, the food is pretty good. Well, what I ordere is pretty good. They have seasonal offerings that I get sometimes. Maybe 1 item because most of the items aren't that desirable. Their only there for a few weeks or a month though. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I stick to the breakfast items but I have tried a few lunch items. My favorite item from here is their bran muffin. Yes, bran muffin. They are a very very good size with raisins in it. I'm glad that they are tasty and not too sweet. I've never had them with butter, (I'm not a bread and butter girlie. I just like plain bread), but I bet they would be so delicious with a little schmear of butter. The next thing I really think is delicious is the savory quiche with the buttery crust. I get the Quiche Lorraine with the ham and cheese in it. It's nice and hot and has a good amount of toppings. Whenever I want quiche, this is where I go! So yummy! Unfortunately, I had a really terrible experience tonight with Brian. I believe he was the general manager and he handled the situation I am about to tell poorly. We ordered a Strawberry Nutella crepe tonight and my brother did not like the cream inside. The crepe was also sitting on a drizzle of Nutella but we will get back to that later. I went up to the counter to see if we could get the creme out and just comment that it seemed a bit misleading to call it a Strawberry Nutella crepe and there only be a drizzle at the bottom. Anyone else would expect a bit more from the name, you know? Of course, I understand it does not fall on them since they did not create the menu. Anyways, the girl at the register called over Brian to help once I expressed my concern. Brian came over and I explained that my brother did not like the cream and that the name was a bit misleading. He said to me, "Well that's how it is" and "read the ingredients". His tone was very rude and his body language seemed like he didn't want to hear it. I then suggested if he could take the cream out and he quickly said "I am not going to fill it with Nutella" even though I never asked for that, he assumed. I told him "I did not ask for you to do that, I just asked if you could take out the cream" and he responded with something along the lines of "yea, if you want a dry crepe." At this point I am getting angry and I won't lie I caught a bit of an attitude because he was talking to me as if I was stupid. I finally just ask for the money back. He refunded the money and I got the courage to tell him that he was very rude and he could have handled it better. He said "I wasn't being rude, we just had a miscommunication but I wasn't being rude" and "I'm sorry YOU felt that way but I wasn't being rude." There was no miscommunication or misunderstanding, he was genuinely being rude to me from his tone and body language and his remarks. I truly feel bad that this place has someone like this as the manager. If he reacted like that to a customer, I can only imagine what his employees have to deal with. read more

La Madeleine was a favorite for the less-adventurous and smaller-budgeted high school hangout nights as well as a quick after-church lunch. And while I haven't dined there in awhile, I will always have a sweet spot for that endless bread and jam and will remember their tomato basil soup as the first memorable soup I listed as my go-to choice at a restaurant. So let's talk about this Sacher torte. It's a three-layered chocolate cake dipped in vanilla syrup with layers of raspberry jam, topped with chocolate mousse and ganache. The whole torte comes with 10 slices pre-sliced and the price is I think less than the price of 8 individual slices. I seem to remember $45 or $48 as the price, and it's worth every penny. It's also nice that with so many locations, you are likely to be able to find a whole torte without having ordered it ahead of time. Chicken friand (3/5) idk if it's just this location or because I haven't had La Madeline in a while but it tasted a lot different this time. The mushroom sauce was still good but the pastry itself tasted a little off to me. Cranberry and pecan salad (3/5) this salad was good but I think I needed more dressing on it, but that's just me (I like a good amount of dressing on my salads) but the pecan and cranberry balances everything out and makes the salad good! I also added feta cheese to it and made it so much better. Tomato basil soup (5/5) I don't get this soup anywhere else because I only like it from here Service (5/5) the service here is awesome! So far, this is my favorite la Madeline spot, mostly because I like how this location doesn't do the cafeteria system like many other la Madeline's. The food is alright, but I appreciate that everything is always served hot or cold when it needs to be and the employees are, for the most part, very welcoming. Because this is located at the Energy Corridor, near where 3 schools are, the place can get super noisy with all the kids and teens running around, or employees from nearby companies coming in for their breakfast/lunch/dinner. So I don't recommend coming here to work or study. If you are meeting up with friends and you happen to be in the area, this place can be good for you. read more

While I don't think the food matches up to many of the high end French places in houston, I think for the price it is superb, and their quality is so consistent, its nearly impossible to replicate in other chains. The potato soup is one of my wife's favorites, and is our go to when she isn't feeling well. They package it well to go, its always so delicious and comforting, and never had a bad batch. I love how filling and flavorful this soup is, and can't help but drench some of that fresh sliced bread in it! We also ordered the chicken friand which is one of our favorites. This is a dish that is definitely much better eaten at the restaurant than taken home, but on this occasion to go was our only choice. It's nice and flaky, the chicken is well flavored, the mushroom cream sauce its served with could literally be drank fresh straight out of the container. I love this dish! Lastly we got the chicken Caesar salad, which is another one of our regular dishes. The chicken is moist, well flavored, and never gummy. The dressing is creamy, not fishy, and liked by anyone who ever tries it, and the croutons and Parmesan are good enough to hold up the rest of the dish, albeit not as good as some other places. read more

First, I was put in an awkward position when I was in line and the cashier was arguing with a customer. Then, I received a dirty glass with an obvious lipstick stain printed on it for my mimosa-didn't get an apology for that either when I got up to exchange it. And the list goes on. Have all the La Madeleine's gone to this model? If so, I kind of like it. Rather than moving your tray along a line where you see the food sitting out and order, cafeteria-style, this location takes your order, your money and gives you the standard numbered wood spoon block used by all LaM's for all food orders. The food's the same, though, just not wilting in front of your eyes. That's a nice change. It also frees up space for additional seating. This location dropped the quasi-cozy dark, cave atmosphere that makes you wonder what all that darkness is hiding and opted for a open concept with lots of windows bringing in natural light. It's a nice change. Underneath the surface changes, it's still a LaM, though, with the traditional menu. The Caesar salad is good, the french onion soup is a okay but bordering on bland, and the free bread is good as long as you get there during the rush. Otherwise it's day old and slightly stale. The food is neither outstanding nor horrible. It works, but with the popular non-chain competition nearby, they needed to do something. It's a start. read more

However, I'm only giving this specific location a 3 star because service was a bit slower than expected if you had more than one dish per order. What a lovely find! We had actually come to this strip mall to dine at another place, but they were closed....so we Yelp'd and found this place. I like the decor very much....such a nice clean, warm, and cozy decor and ambiance....like a French country house feel with classy wall pictures, timber beamed ceilings, and stone fireplace. This was our first time here and we were unfamiliar with how ordering worked, but we soon figured it out. You look at the menu while in line, place your order at the order/cashier counter, pay for you order, and take the number provided and find a table to sit. They will bring your food out when ready. What a nice display of fresh breads, pastries, and desserts they have at the order counter.....you can even peak through window to where they bake everything fresh. This was supposed to be our breakfast/brunch, but it was already around noon. The place was at least half filled, but the crowd grew as time went on. My mother ordered the scrambled eggs and bacon which came with a baguette....and as usual, she'd order too much and went ahead and ordered a cinnamon dusted crepe with fresh strawberries. My brother and I ordered a custom omelette where you can include 3 items to go in it....I ordered mine with chicken, onions, mushrooms, and green bell pepper.....it came with a baguette. My brother ordered an omelette which came with a croissant. What I was pretty disappointed about was that I wanted breakfast potatoes with my breakfast, but was told they only came inside the omelette and that I couldn't order them as a side.....bummer. I really liked my omelette and the baguette was very good.....everything was very fresh. I got to try my mother's crepe with fresh strawberries and a creme spread. The crepe is thicker than traditional crepes and looks more like multi grain crepes. I think they're thicker because the crepes are folded over and meld together into a thick crepe.....my mother said she didn't like it, but I liked it very much.....there was just a light sprinkle of cinnamon so it didn't overwhelm.....and I liked the texture....I personally thought it was yummy, especially when eaten with the fresh strawberries. There are two separate stations for coffee/hot water and soft drinks.....which is also where you pick up your own cutlery and paper napkins, ketchup, jams, etc. There is also a free bread rack where the jams are. Note that I had a hard time finding the hot water for my tea! I had to ask where it was and finally found it....it's by the coffee and you get it from what looks like a water fountain......you probably wouldn't have found this unless you saw the little "hot water" sign under it, but it was turned away from view when I was looking earlier. Nice place! Wonderful ambiance for a nice relaxing breakfast/brunch. If I were living in Houston I would definitely make this a regular place to come back to every weekend. read more

I came by today with a friend as we were looking for a place to grab dessert and I remembered that La Madeleine offered a variety of pastries and desserts. The first dessert we chose was the Raspberry and Cream Cheese Croissant and it was pretty good! The raspberry balanced out the cream cheese very well, creating a pastry that was not overly sweet. The Fresh Fruit Tart has to be my favorite dessert that La Madeleine offers. The custard had great consistency, sweetness, taste, and complements the fresh fruits really well. The crust is nothing special but it holds everything together nicely. The Creme Brûlée was average. It had a good taste, but I would have liked the consistency to be a bit firmer and the top to be crunchy. You definitely get the flavor of the torched sugar, but because it was refrigerated after being torched it became soft rather than a crisp top. They also serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner at this establishment! I've been to this location several times now and service is always super friendly and quick. read more

Came here a couple of weeks ago. Have visited La Madeleine for many years and the quality of the food has declined significantly. My wife ordered a half sandwich with Caesar salad, the sandwich was ok, but nothing special, the salad was poor, the lettuce was pale, and seemed old, certainly not fresh and the cheapest part of the lettuce. I ordered the quiche Lorraine and did not eat it, the ham had no color, almost white- either old, or very cheap ham. While prices have increased significantly, quality ha come down, and we will not return. read more

Well our orders for switched. He got the turkey bistro and I got the turkey brie. Wasn't a big deal but one of our sandwiches was supposed to be a full order but wasn't. One of the sandwich was toasted really well and the other was just lifeless. And when the 2nd half came out, it looked depressing. It was super small in portion. Like all of our sandwiches shrank! I've said it before and I'll say it again... I HATE LA MADELEINE! Their food sucks! Food is hardly hot enough, the cold pastas are swimming in grease, the chicken is bland and the list goes on. The service at this location has been friendly for the most part but I have had a bad experience...I went in with my old coworker who's Cuban and her new coworker who was some Hispanic descent. We were all standing at the registers, they were looking in the dessert case and I was closer to the actual register. An employee with a crazy, jacked up eye walked up to a 2nd register to take orders. After he asked what the order would be, I started saying I wanted the paella but he proceeded to cut me off saying that they (pointing to my 2 companions) where there first. I got all the way annoyed and semi-crunk. He assumed because my face doesn't look like theirs, it was no way we could have all been together. The way to avoid all problems is to ASK who's next, never assume because clearly if he paid that much attention to who came in with whom and who was next, he would have known we were together. However, i find that they are often running out of favorite pastries and even coffee. Which should be the main reason any one really comes to a french place in the first place. While the food is better than a bad burger, and a mediocre burger (at best)- the quality depends on the day and it never exceeds average food standards. It's good knowing what you're eating for a change, but at times their dishes ( their Chicken La Madeleine for example) are tasteless, and lack some serious seasoning. It seems that the food is already so pre-prepared that there was no real attempt for it to be pleasing to the palate. Get this on a better than fast-food day, or on a pre-date; but if you're considering something to satisfy a craving buy a pastry and then go next door to some near by establishments. read more
