Unfulfilled Promises and Missed Opportunities As a Yelper, I strive to give local businesses every opportunity to shine, especially those with a boutique charm and a promise of personal service. Unfortunately, after three visits to LA Masters of Fine Jewelers in Temecula, I'm left disheartened by a sharp contrast in experience and a lack of basic follow-through. My first visit was lovely. I stopped in out of curiosity, was greeted warmly, and enjoyed browsing their jewelry. No pressure, just genuine enthusiasm and hospitality. It left a positive impression and made me bookmark them for the future. Fast forward to my second visit, now newly engaged and eager to support a local jeweler with a custom wedding band for my fiancé. Again, I was welcomed kindly and talked through the customization process in detail. I was advised to return with my fiancé to confirm sizing, metal, and width. Everything felt thoughtful and promising. However, my third visit, which should've been the most exciting and collaborative, was a disappointment. While we were initially greeted pleasantly, the energy shifted abruptly when I mentioned having spoken with a different associate the day prior. The associate assisting us redirected us to the register and openly discussed passing the commission to the original associate, in front of us. The handoff was awkward and impersonal. Despite that, we provided all the necessary details for our custom ring: sizing, specs, and inspiration images. We were told we'd receive our CAD drawing within 4 days (by 7/23) to review before moving forward. It has now been 12 days, and we've heard nothing. No call. No email. No CAD drawing. No follow-up of any kind. The irony? That very same day, we visited another local jeweler who, unprompted, expressed surprise that LA Masters was still in business due to their history of poor follow-through. At the time, I dismissed that as unprofessional gossip, but sadly, I experienced exactly what she described. We were genuinely ready to move forward with a purchase. But the lack of professionalism, accountability, and basic courtesy speaks volumes. I won't chase a business to give them my money, especially for something as sentimental and significant as a wedding ring. I wanted to support you, LA Masters. But you made it clear I'm better off going elsewhere. read more

I would like to start off by saying that as soon as I walked in I was greeted by a couple of employees that were very nice. I came in to get my watch fixed and was helped by Leah Finn. She was so good at what she does and we had a nice conversation while my watch was getting fixed. Everyone in the store was polite and very professional!!! What a great experience! Awful experience We bought a ring here and we needed to get more info since it had been almost 10 years.. I stopped by to get the details on it and the girl who was assisting me was a complete nightmare to deal with. She seemed very unhappy to work there her name was Megan. Very mean and rude absolutely rude and horrific customer service. I would not buy anything there. She insisted to call her boss so that she can call my husband who bought the ring. My husband was already at work. She didn't care to play games.. I had to call my husband first to let him know so he can answer the phone ..she wouldn't even look at my ring .. I had to interrupt my husband at work and she still insisted to call him herself. When she finally called him she miss dialed the number several times and made me feel that she had tried enough. Then she wanted to quit after going through all the trouble she was putting me through. - I had to basically beg her to call again she didn't want too very unwillingly - I told her she is making this experience very ugly for me. My mom took her aunt's ring in to be appraised and they suggested she have her wedding ring appraised as well. The associate told her the prongs were loose on her ring. She left it with them to have it cleaned and fix the prongs. My mom got her ring back with a chip in the diamond. She went back in to tell the manager and they denied even touching the prongs. They said they only cleaned it. Obviously this was a lie, as that was the main reason she took it in and the soldering was obvious (and ugly). Ultimately, my mom had to give up. Her word against theirs. Two family members noticed her ring looked "different" without her saying anything about it. My aunt said her diamond looked smaller. Either they swapped her diamond or they chipped it and didn't own up to it. Not sure where the all of the five stars are coming from, maybe our story is a fluke, but I wouldn't trust this business with my jewelry, especially when they have no procedures in place to guarantee that what you give them is what you'll get back. My mom can't even look at her wedding ring without feeling hurt and infuriated about what this business did to her. read more

02-26-20 I brought in my white gold, three row, channel set diamond, wedding band. Shank width 3.6 shank thickness .95. here to be sized up. Bob greeted me, measured my ring, and charged over $200. The repair would take a week, due date of 2-27-20. Bob called for pick up 02-26. When I picked up the ring I noted shank thickness and width were notably thinner. Bob measured, and he agreed it was indeed, narrower and thinner than when I handed it in. So rather than honoring the date the work was to be completed as per our agreement, they needed another week to do it, due date of 3-4-20. I called 2-28 to request to see if my ring could be done by Saturday. Bob said they do not have the material. I asked "you dont have white gold?" He said it's a special material for the shank so it will match and polish. I have gone to Fix It Fast in the mall before for repairs and sizing and they did it while I watched. Bob said I could pick up my ring to take home today then bring it back to complete the repair. I decided to leave it with them. I didn't like that option, something about that concerned me. 3-5-20 I picked up ring. They said they called me but I have no calls or voicemails from them. The part they measure to gauge width and thickness is now within compliance, but the shank above and below on Both sides of the repair (the sides where the ring touches the fingers alongside it) are now thinner and narrower. I will take the ring home with me today because I would rather cut my losses and have some ring left to wear. read more

I reached out to Leah Finn on facebook earlier this month, with what to me was an important thing. A ruby fell out of a special opal ring my grandfather had given me about 40 years ago. The prongs were loose and I was eager to have it repaired with a new ruby added. Within MINUTES, Leah replied. Within a week of bringing the ring to Stan, it was fixed and on my finger, looking like new. I had questions after my husband picked up the ring. Called Stan who was able to refer to a photo he took of the ring and beautifully answer my questions and further explain proper care of opals as a reminder to me. Dear La Masters, We are extremely happy with our beautiful engagement ring. We called LA Masters because they are a Lyoness Merchant. During the initial phone call we realized Aubrey understood and embraced the design of our engagement ring. Within hours we had a rough draft drawing in our Email In Box. We instantly knew we had found someone with deep expertise that was easy to work with. Within a few days we were on our way from Houston to Southern California to finalize our ring design and choose a diamond. We felt so welcome from the moment we arrived at the store. It really is a family owned business and the friendly atmosphere made us feel so welcome. We had a CAD design and pictures shortly after leaving the store which we immedieatly shared on Facebook. Two weeks later we flew back to Southern California for my fiancé to pick up the ring. To my surprise LA Masters helped coordinate his proposal at a local Winery. It was amazing. Went to La Master after seeing great reviews on Temecula Talk, I'm definitely regretting my decision now. I went in to get my wedding ring and bands de-soldered because I didn't like that I couldn't wear just one ring at a time. First, when I went to pick it up I noticed many cut marks on my ring as well as the band being extremely thin (mind you my ring is two years old and should not be thinning). I brought this to their attention and they agreed to fix the cut marks and brushed off how thin they had made my band. When I went to pick it up a second time I still saw the damage that they created, they did not fix it all. So, I pointed it out and they agreed to fix it again. So they did, when I went to pick it up the third time and put it on the band was so thin I don't even feel comfortable wearing my ring because it feels like it will just bend. So I called, the only thing they said is the would solder it back to the bands again. So I said no and I will have to take it somewhere else and pay $200-300 to get it repaired. So I'm super bummed and wouldn't recommend going here. read more

Note this review is for appraisal/repair only. Bob at La Masters is one of few if any folks in the Temecula Valley qualified to offer fine jewelry appraisal for insurance purposes. He has appraised several items for us and his work has always been extremely thorough, careful, and expert. In addition, their watch department is able to do repairs and also they were able to tell me detailed information about an old family pocket-watch of my husband's. They have a glassed-in area where they do repairs and you can watch them work. I have never bought jewelry here and the selection seems somewhat limited but if repairs or appraisal are what you are looking for, you won't find better here in town. NOTE: I was told today that Bob has been out on sick leave and expects to return to work in early May on a part-time only basis. Bob is the only one at La Masters who does their appraisals. read more

We recently colaborated with Stan (one of the owners) on an engagement ring design. Our daughters boyfriend spent hours with Stan, revising and adjusting the design until it was perfect. Once the custom ring was ready to build it was ready for pick up in less than ten days as promised. The pricing was reasonable and when the ring was presented to our daughter she was overjoyed. People love the design as well as the fact that a family heirloom stone was used in the setting, making the ring truly unique. I felt completely disrespected and I left. I will NEVER go back. FOLLOW UP: I received a pretty nasty response from someone from the company (the owner?) for this comment. He looked me up and decided that I was "not-so-young", wheelchair-bound, and I was giving Yelp a bad name by giving this review. I hope that customers will see this, as well as his response, and decide to vote with their money.
