To be fair, I had a good fish sandwich a few weeks ago. Today I tried the lobster roll. Very expensive, small amount of lobster, untoasted roll, no sauce or melted butter of any kind on the roll or lobster, so D-R-Y. (It was described as a toasted roll with a miso sauce.) Terrible. Love this place-the owner is super friendly and all the food is so fresh and made to order, which I love. Yes-it is a little pricey but that high quality of all the food makes this totally worth it. I love their lunch options which include fresh fish, soup, salads and even dumplings. Also, they offer a variety of fresh prepared appetizer types of items like broccoli, couscous, string beans etc. I have yet to have a bad experience or not absolutely loving the food I have ordered! Yesterday-I had the catch of the day sandwich which was perfect! Branzino, online, tomato and tartar sauce on a brioche bun. I always love fresh seafood and it is hard to find a local place that offers so many lunch options--they even have poke bowls! For takeaway, any of the fish, especially salmon cakes, Korean pancakes, and the key lime pie are all amazing. Went here for a quick bite while driving through town with my wife. The two men working there were rude, bordering on hostile. We watched them bark and rush the costumer ahead of us, a lady ordering salmon. Our interaction with the staff was cold and off putting. the guy threw the food down on the counter and sarcastically said have a nice day. Not sure what was going on at this place or what kind of toxic environment we happened to stumble in to. But it made us extremely uncomfortable. We went a few doors down to Armonk County Kitchen where they were lovely and the food was great. Go there instead! read more

In all honesty. The Lobster Roll here is OMG delicious. I ate it 3 times last week. I went with the biggest one and it never disappoints. It's 4 stars on its own. The sides are decent but don't really wow... My only negative is the cost. I get it things are expensive, but the sides are REALLY pricey. I would get just a lobster roll but wish it came with a small side of chips or salad for the 25$ price tag. All in all its a great place to stop for a lobster roll and I highly recommend read more

Since taking over La Mer, Sean has upgraded everything in the store. Raw fish is top quality and prepared foods are delicious. I highly recommend the tuna poke bowls and tuna burgers (grill them at home). The only think better than the food is Sean, great smile and great attitude - wants every customer to be happy. I'm only rating it on the sandwiches....since that's all i've bought but I can now say that I believe that the Buffalo Tilapia sandwich is the best sandwich in town....delicious homemade sandwich. just the right amount of spice....and I don't feel robbed.....reasonably well priced. will continue to return. went again, had the shrimp po boy. also delicious....not large but not small. got the tartar sauce on the side....didn't see the need for it....would easily order that one again as well always hard to give something 5 stars.....so i'll stick with the 4 stars (although its closer to 4.5). what would push it over the edge for me would be some type of combo meal....i.e. for an extra $2, i get a side of something...then i'd give it 5 stars ;-) read more

Just ordered lunch for our office today and everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. Salads with seared tuna were very good. Shrimp po boy wrap was made with grilled shrimp so it was not as heavy as the usual but was still very good. Received a quick response when I complained and was promised a refund that I never got. This is an outstanding fish market. I drive an hour to get my fish here because I know the quality will always be excellent. The prepared foods are also delicious. The staff is helpful, friendly, knowledgable and honest--if you ask for something that is not up to standard, they will be honest with you and steer you toward a fresher alternative.
