Firstly, I did get a great deal on a used RV. However when I took ownership they could not find the keys to the RV. Salesman told me to call their service department which I did and they sent me one lock and key set, which only covers 1 storage door, not the second nor did it provide a key for the actual entry door for the RV. I spoke numerous times with their customer service and was repeatedly told they will follow up with the service department. Bought the RV in December, it's now June 2026. La Mesa RV in Sanford is the worst dealership I've dealt with in 20 years of buying vehicles. We came in for a Solitude 390 RK, asked them to match a fair price from another dealer, and spent three hours being strung along. They demanded $16,000 just to add a 5th wheel hitch, generator, and washer/dryer, refused to match the competitor's price, and held onto our driver's license during "negotiations" a shady pressure tactic. We sat at a table for over an hour while our salesman, Kevin, claimed he was "fighting for us," but in reality, the sales manager was just on the phone the entire time. Then they tried to trap us in a false choice: either a better price or a better interest rate, never both. Kevin even played the sympathy card with a personal story about his pregnant wife instead of giving us straight answers. Whether it was true or not, it was completely unprofessional in a negotiation. This place is manipulative, dishonest, and wastes your time. If you value your money, your time, and basic respect, shop anywhere else. read more

We were on our to pick up our motorhome and while driving for 6 hours we got a call from the manager of Lamesa and he told us they sold our motorhome we had under contract. We asked him why they sold our motorhome and he said they didn't want to wait for us to test drive the motorhome. He was extremely rude because we got upset for selling the motorhome. When I started the process of trading in and updating our RV I had the usual apprehension that comes along with this task. Don't overpay and don't get taken is what I kept telling myself. Because a motorhome is such a high-ticket item, you have to broaden your search area to make sure you get what you want and pay what you think is a fair price. I was in the market for a new or barely used Diesel Class A or Super C, and I was trading in a 2022 Jayco Seneca Super C. I started locally and then expanded to get numbers from known nationwide dealers like NIRVC, MHS, Blue Sky, General, and La Mesa. The best numbers I got were from La Mesa, and they had no hidden or inflated fees like some of the others. I felt extremely comfortable with my saleswoman, Diana, and felt as if she was always brutally honest with me. I wanted and respected that. We did the deal via text, email, and phone, and I was still very apprehensive that the "deal" would change once I arrived at their Sanford location with my trade-in coach. It didn't!! Irate is too mild for this dealership. I purchased a Grand Design 2 1/2 years ago from them. I've had two recalls on the axles. The 2nd one took weeks waiting for parts, then the fix. As we pulled out after the recall work, there was a squeak and grinding underneath which could be heard a block away. How they didn't notice this when they pulled out our 5th wheel from their service garage is a bit unbelievable. Whatever they messed up underneath makes this 5th wheel a giant paperweight. While they told me to bring it back as soon as I called a minute after leaving, I'm opting for a grand design authorized repair to diagnose exactly what they did to screw up our 5th wheel. Bringing it back to the company who messed it up, where they'd probably charge me for a "diagnosis" of whatever damage THEY caused, then charge for the repair is a huge no thank you. To add, they stopped selling Grand Design, after they sold us this paperweight. After 2 years, just about everything inside is falling apart including moldings, closet doors consistently falling off track, a broken refrigerator and microwave. The warranty expired after 2 years on all of this; not the 3 years we thought we had which only covers the exterior paint! They wanted over $200 just to diagnose the refrigerator issue. If you consider this dealership, read the fine print. I would not recommend them for sales or service. There are many other options in central Florida. This company should not be on your list unless you're looking for a headache 2 years and 1 day after your major purchase. read more

I'm not sure how this place could get 2.9 Stars. This could be the worst overall sales business I have ever dealt with. We spent two months trying to buy our dream RV but it could not happen in a place like this. The prices are not real, Their dealer fees change daily and throughout your transaction. The sales managers are as bad as the people they manage. Don't torture yourself unless you like hidden fees and a sales approach that makes you wonder where any of these great reviews you see came from. This is not how a sales team should operate. If you are an RV'er you know it's just a matter of time before trouble raises its ugly head and it's likely to be at the most inconvenient time. While breaking camp recently I experienced a failure while retracting one of my slide-outs, after removing the electronic controller myself and resetting the control circuit the issue remained. I contacted the PowerGear support team at Lippert and talked to their tech support and we were still unable to get the slide to retract although the motor operated, so I figured it was likely a mechanical failure. After contacting several mobile RV service providers it seemed like an impossible task to get a service appointment, that is until I contacted La Mesa RV - I was immediately connected to Joe in the service department, understandably getting someone dispatched was extremely challenging and their mobile service is not designed to provide emergency roadside service but understanding my situation Joe was able to get me scheduled early the following morning which was should a relief. Being I was really off the grid and my phone service was marginal at best we decided the best was to communicate was through texting which we continued through the entire experience as well as the follow up. Fast forward to the next morning Brett the technician texted me when he was leaving the shop and was heading my way which was a little more than an hour away. Once onsite he immediately evaluated the situation and walked me through the process and started trouble-shooting and within minutes identified the culprit (a broken shaft that extends and retracts the slide-out) knowing making a permanent repair was impossible he took photos of the failed parts and began strategizing the steps to manually retract the slide-out. After only a few minute we started the process and moved the slide in, he then verified the slide-out was locked in place so I could drive it home and schedule the repairs which thankfully is covered under the warranty. I can't speak enough about the professionalism and competence of the service team at La Mesa - these guys are the best and saved me so much time, stress and money. My wife and I are in the market to purchase a new 5th Wheel trailer to travel the country. We stopped by the La Mesa in Sanford to see what they had in stock or can be special ordered. We sat down with our sales rep. to discuss what we're in the market for, and he then took to a couple of 5th wheels. He did explain much about the features of the trailers and just kinda stood there. I asked him to explain the features and it was crickets complete silence. He took us to another 5th Wheel and after we got off the golf cart he said he would be right back. We toured trailer on our own. We came out and stood around for a couple of minutes in the heat. We decided to leave and walk back to our truck. Once got the office our sales rep came out and said, he spoke to his boss and they don't have anything to which we are looking for. We thanked him a left very disappointed due to the lack of positive customer service. I read the previous reviews, and I have agree the customer service is terrible. If you have a customer willing to spend big money on a RV, I would think they would provide better customer service. It was a terrible experience for us and I can't see how they stay in business. I bought a Grand Design toy hauler at LaMesa RV in Sanford, Fl in August of 2024. The sales process was OK and we had no issues until we took delivery. The issues began with the PDI when we came to the dealership to pick the RV up. They did nothing to prep the RV for pickup except a very minimal outside wash. The inside was dirty and we discovered that the vinyl floor had damage in two places, there was only one key (salesman and service manager promised that they would ship the second key), the happy jack bunk beds would not function property, the OneControl app was not programmed to operate the generator, and the generator would not run. There were several other minor items, but to the point, there was no PDI completed before we arrived. They lubed the bunks, promised that they would send another key, arranged for the vinyl floor repair, and worked on the generator to get it started, which unfortunately they did (tech said it would not start because it was low on oil and he added oil). Fast forward to when we got it home...they arranged for the vinyl floor to get repaired through the local LaMesa dealer (good dealer) and it did. I called Grand Design support to have them walk me through the process to add the generator function to OneControl and the GD support was great. However, the positives end there. I never received the promised key and when I got home, I tested everything out again including running the generator. It ran, but not very well and the exhaust smell was very strong. I shut it down to check the oil and when I removed the oil cap, oil gushed out everywhere because the tech had overfilled it during PDI. I drained out the excess oil to the correct level and it ran better. However, the brand new toy hauler is now at the local dealer because oil blows past the piston rings on the generator and soaks the air filter with oil when running. I am now anxiously waiting to see what solutions GD will offer for this major issue caused by LaMesa RV in Sanford. read more

La Mesa was less than honest and wasted my time. I inquired about a RV for sale that was posted online. I was told it was still available and could come in and see it. When I got there the sales person couldn't find it on the lot. After 15 minutes of looking for it they found it on their already sold lot. They said it had been moved by accident. We still looked at it not knowing the reason it was moved is because someone had already put down a deposit!!!! They lied just to get us in the door! Not only that....we had a trade that was in better condition than what we were looking at. They offered us 10K less than trade-in value because they said they do not resale anything older than 2017s on their lot...they could only offer us auction price...I sold it out right to another dealer 2 days later for 10k more than they offered. Now the unit we looked at is supposedly back for sale. They will tell you anything on the phone to get you in the store. Do not waste your time! read more

i bought a new rv van thor tellaro and when i went home i notice the head liner it was dropping down. i took it back for repair and after three months on the shop dallas kohn told us it was fixed. we drove back home and i saw that the headliner it was worst that before. it was not fixed. this person dallas khon didn't check the job before give us the rv. we trusted him and for me he didn't care if the job is done well. he gave us the rv very dirty inside and the headliner is worst that it was before. do not buy any rv in la mesa. is the worst place and people all they want is your money. they don't care about customer service. a lot of issues with the 25 thor tellaro and nobody care. this guy dallas kohon should not be working there. bad customer service. three months my rv was in la messa in sanford and the job was not done. The West Sacramento had 4 sales associates standing around when I arrived. They had little interest in being of service. I delt with Chelsea and Gary and one other person. The three combined had as much customer service 101 experience as my 10 year old grandson. Posed a few basic questions for which they said our sales manager is the only person that can answer your questions. Wow, all they were interested in was for a customer to enter into a purchase of an RV, quick and simple. Don't bother me with pointed questions. I am not one to write reviews, definitely not bad ones, but I feel compelled to finally get this one on the books. After having my rig for 3 months I ended up taking it home only to find out that the things like replacing a roof vent cover, fixing a toilet, completing a tune-up on the generator, engine and roof ac's, and replacing the windshield wipers - everything was either incomplete, done poorly or not done at all. The item that was not done was re-attaching an engine stay and redoing the heat shield in the engine compartment. As a matter of fact when I went to pick it up there was an engine door stay sitting on a technician's table so we went over to my rig and found that it hadn't been put in and the engine compartment lining wasn't fixed. So they gave me the lift and said it would have to be done another time. When I got back and parked the rig I found another lift(stay) in one of the basement compartments - so someone else was now missing theirs. The bathroom vent cover needed replacing and it was., but during the installation they cracked it where it was connected to the lift. I was told that since I left with it that way there was nothing they could do for me. Even though it was closed, it blew off in a storm. My other one is just fine. The air conditioners (I thought that it was going to be the chassis a/c) were "maintained" and after a few weeks a blower blew out on one of them and then a few weeks later another went. Coincidence, I doubt it. And since I thought that they would be checking the engine a/c called them on the way home to say that it wasn't cooling properly, that's when I was told that they did the roof a/c's not the engine. They replaced the windshield wipers but didn't place them well. They were both hitting the frame of the window and not resting on the glass where they should be. The toilet didn't want to flush - they fixed it but then it wouldn't hold water and the toilet was loose. They put in new slide toppers and now I have one that is sagging. Then I checked the generator and there is a cap missing. I'm giving the service department two stars because they are polite and really seem like the want to assist you, but the technicians shouldn't work on an bicycle let alone a vehicle that costs more than a few hundred thousand dollars. They want you to pay them $150-200 per hour for rushed incomplete work, plus parts. It just doesn't add up. I wouldn't recommend anyone to go here. This work was done spring of 2023. read more

Yesterday, Monday, I went there with a positive attitude and happy that I would get my new RV... For over three days I prepared, bought items for the RV, hoses, adapters, plus other accessories, TP, etc. ..The "punch out, list was not very extensive, but "eyes sores," and one large drawer, that could be a disaster driving, all listed to be repaired. I was greeted with a Huge RED bow on the RV, that I was supposed to purchase, and gave a deposit on... The young man that did the orientation, Jonathan, was nice, but kept putting me off about the list of repairs... I finally started going through the list of RV REPAIRS myself, & NOTHING was even started. I informed Jonathan that I did not want to go through orientation, if these things were not repaired. He kept trying to convince me that after the orientation that we could start talking about the repairs. I told him I just wanted to see the service manager because I was highly upset about the motorcoach being promised to me Sunday, and at the latest Monday at 1pm, and nothing was Accomplished! Then the story gets better, the same twin coach that was supposed on this lot, was not there, more excuses for that mistake. If I wanted the upgraded one they had a few to look at... We bought a 2022 transcend about three months ago and it's already been in the shop 3 times ! Our fridge worked for two weeks before shutting down. It's super frustrating when they have your trailer in the shop for two weeks over a "wire problem" just for it not to work when you get home. Not only that, they hold it for ANOTHER two weeks to have the same problem when we got home. They told us they know nothing about the newer models. How do you sell a product you know nothing about? It makes no sense. They also didn't tighten the sink or the hot water heater so we had water damage under our sink without knowing about it. RVing has been something my wife and I have been wanting to do with our two kids for a very long time. You can blame YouTube for inspiring the movement within our hearts, too downsize and take the less is more approach to life. We've been going to every RV show for the past 2 1/2 years, learning everything we can about the pros and cons of RVs, class A's, class B's, class C's. We've spent countless hours watching a Family's vlog on YouTube about their experiences. After cleaning up our credit a year ago and paying off all our credit card debt, which was over $13,000, we figured we try to see if we could get approved at La Mesa. We went through the application process which was a breeze and our (Sales Guy) Max walked us through the entire process step-by-step graciously. Max was the best. He took a no bullshit, approach and shared his thoughts about all the steps throughout the way. He was kind, funny and sometimes goofy to our kids. He offered us water and food throughout the entire process and he even gave us his personal cell phone number to call him and ask many questions as we needed throughout the process. Pants off to him for everything he did! Max not only deserves a raise or a pat on the back but he deserves more customers to come see him if they are truly wanting a (Sales Guy) who will take great care of them. Max will be our sales guy for our next RV. Be careful of the dealership and ask as many questions as you can. This is an investment and not a small one. While there were some people who made our experience interesting to say the least it was Max came through for us in the end. Go see him right now!!!! Hats off to Nathan Dudley for working with us through the entire finance process. He was extremely professional kind and helped us understand the numbers. Jason helped install our TV bracket and many other text helped install our pricey but worth the investment hitch. Ms. Newton was also a big part of our process as we got closer and closer to pulling off the lot with our new rig. Can't remember the guys name who did our walk-through but he was also a big part in helping us understand the ins and outs of the RV; he wears a grey grand design T-shirt and is extremely passionate so make sure you go see him as well. The whole reason we wanted to downsize was to get away from an expensive nothing to show rental apartment that was charging us a ridiculous rate for a one bedroom one bath. Last year I spent $15,000 on cost-of-living expenses and we walked away spending only $25,000 on this RV motorhome. For what I've spent in renting apartments for the past six years I could have paid for two of these rigs. But our finance payment was almost too good to be true as it came out to be around $246 a month. Whereas we were used to paying almost $1300 a month for a one bedroom apartment.
