I sent an email requesting a quote but didn't get a response. I decided to call the company after seeing good reviews online and because they offered a 2-year labor warranty. I scheduled a diagnostic for my brakes and asked if they had the necessary parts available on the day of my appointment. I dropped off my car at 8 am and was told it would be ready by 2:30 pm. However, I received no updates by noon and had to call for information. It wasn't easy to get answers through SMS messaging. I had to go to the shop myself to wait for my car, and they said they would try to finish by 4 pm. I was disappointed because I would have rescheduled if I had known they didn't have the parts when I dropped off my car. Despite my disappointment, I got my car back in time for my Thanksgiving trip. However, while driving, I noticed a humming sound coming from the brakes, which made me nervous. When I returned, I contacted Welker Automotive, and they were responsive and took a look at my car on the same day. They prioritized my repair order and fixed the problem, which turned out to be caused by metallic pads that needed to be replaced. Although I think I got my money's worth, the inconvenience of leaving my car at the shop for two days decreased the overall value. In the future, I expect Welker Automotive to be more transparent about its inventory and provide better communication about the status of my car during repairs. read more

I brought my vehicle in to Welker Automotive about a month ago to replace a starter and fix several other issues. My vehicle was running like new again until an engine surge caused my check engine light to come on. I had my vehicle towed to Welker's to diagnose and fix the issue. Come to find out the issue was due to a defective valve seal they installed at my last visit. They replaced the seal and changed out a bad hose clamp and didn't charge me a cent! They took the fall for the defective seal where another service station may have made up a story just to be able to make some $$ on a repair. I trust Welker automotive to do a repair, do it honestly and do it well. I will continue to use Welker for as long as I own this vehicle as I am now a lifetime customer. read more

Rick takes the time to truly explain things and gives you an honest explanation on what truly needs fixed and what is okay to wait on. I've taken both of our cars there multiple times and always leave so grateful. Even recently I had stopped at a different mechanic down the road and they gave me a huge list of "urgent issues" with my car, but I didn't think that sounded right. So I brought it to Welker and after a thorough test drive, look around, testing and all that, Rick told me the car was actually running great, and had maybe one thing that needed repaired, I realized the other place was just trying to get money from me. I made appt REQUESTING LOF & signal bulbs & asked that they "GO OVER" the car well, as we had not had it long & CarFax history showed very little. We dropped car off at 8:30 am. I didn't go in with my husband as their parking lot is so small there really wasn't anywhere for me to park, so I waited in a parking lot across the street. )However, I had just had my forester in for an oil change 2 days before and mentioned we were bringing in our Kia on Friday. I said we had not had it very long and needed it gone over because we really wanted to know its condition). My husband went to pick it up the Kia in the afternoon. Apparently they had only done the oil change since that was all they charged us for. The order did say they did a free inspection. Asked why they hadn't "gone over" the car. They said they did (I don't believe them). So my husband asked why the signal bulbs hadn't been done & why they didn't notice or pull codes for "Check engine" light on. Waited while they ordered & replaced the bulbs-they did that for free, but never added it to the repair order. They said check engine light COULD be the catalytic convertor. Seriously? We wanted the vehicle GONE OVER. We don't know how if there is any issue with the front end, brakes, or any other system. You can't tell me a vehicle with 220k plus miles doesn't have ANY issues. I don't want to ever go back to Welker again. My husband said maybe he wasn't entirely clear when he dropped it off. He requested an inspection but didn't say specifically that we want them to check everything or that we'd pay for the thorough inspection. He wants to give them another chance. But they didn't even do or find the most OBVIOUS items so I'm against that. read more

Do not bring your business here. This may require a bowl of popcorn to get through, but here's why I'm saying it. On a recommendation from my neighbor (whom I'm going to have to talk to) I filled out the online contact form late on a Friday. I didn't expect to hear anything over the weekend, but I did expect to hear from them on Monday morning. Nope. I had to call them, and after explaining what was going on with my car (again--they hadn't read the email) I was told I would hear back that day. Nope. I called back on Tuesday and spoke to a different person and made arrangements to drop the car off early Thursday because I do have to work. On Wednesday I get a call from the first person, 2 days later, saying she was confirming my appt for 10 am on Thu? Apparently they don't communicate too well among themselves either. I left my car just after 7:30 am on Thu, fully expecting to hear something during the day about the prognosis for my car. Nope. I called them myself at 9 am Friday, and was told I would get a call back. Nope. Called back around noon. I finally got an estimate sent to me late Friday. It was very expensive and I needed to think about it for a number of reasons. They said I could leave the car since they probably wouldn't be ordering any parts until Monday anyway. They aren't open on the weekend. Unfortunately I took them up on that. Here's the worst part of all: when I picked up my car on Monday, to my shock I found the windows had been left partially OPEN! We had some deluge type storms over the weekend and the interior was VERY wet! The car manual was soaked. What kind of business would just leave a car sitting like that in the Florida summer weather!!? The car is 21 years old. It has quirks. If they had simply bothered to call I could have explained how to get the windows up (just restart the motor), or I certainly would have just COME AND PICKED IT UP. Apparently they couldn't be bothered. So to sum it up: VERY poor communication, VERY expensive prices, irresponsible with my car. read more
