My entire experience with this particular General location was incredible from start to finish. I will start with my first text messages and meeting with my sales manager George. He was knowledgeable, patient, supportive, personable, and reasonable. He was absolutely stellar during both the negotiation process and the closing process. He made me feel like family the entire time and definitely left a lasting mark, that will keep me with General for all of my future RV needs. Samantha, who did the walk through the day of my delivery was also awesome, sweet and thorough. I was running 2 hours late (out of my control) and she was flexible and kind about it, showing me nothing but smiles and grace! She even set my puppy and I up to stay the night in their lot, since my drive that night was going to be 4 hours and I was exhausted. Safety first with this bunch! Ryan, who not only perfectly installed my weight distribution hitch (with several roadblocks due to my negligence with a trailer hitch key AND my tardiness) but also went above and beyond with sharing his personal RV experiences/tips/tricks. His technical expertise was comprehensive and meticulous. He was also SO loving to my puppy, who I had to bring with me that day...making sure she stayed cool in my truck. Even when he was finished with the job, he brought her water and love while I was inside with finance. He walked me through my entire list of questions that I had the next day, still tweaking a few things to make sure my rig was perfection and that I understood every nuance. Now that is incredible customer service! I also want to through props to Tom! While on site, I had some mechanical issues with my new truck (which was my tow vehicle). He went out of his way to make sure that my vehicle was safe to drive home, as well as taking his precious time (it was past closing time) to educate me on the problem, how to remedy it, and how to discuss it with my mechanic who sold it to me...making sure I understood their liability and how to approach the situation to be successful. GRATEFUL! This is a long review because I am still feeling SO much gratitude for my experience with General RV in Winter Garden. I am a 70 year old man living on social security who wanted to get a motorhome, my wife and I went to a rv show in Kissimmee, saw a rv told salesman what we could afford, a downpayment, a trade, and a monthly installment of $450 a month and no more. He took my info to manager 3 times and came back with 3 different offers All of which were substantially higher than what I needed to purchase. my wife and I decided to leave and salesman asked for 1 more chance, he came back with a manager to where we were sitting and the manager asked me if I meet your terms of $450 a month will you purchase today, we said yes, we went to finance and the business manager in that tent quoted us $499, so again we decided to leave, this manager was confident he could get the payment where we needed it but it would take a little time and he would get to it later but we needed to sign a purchase agreement and leave a non refundable $5000 he would get it done and he wrote on the contract this downpayment was contingent to the terms of $450 or below, he and I both signed that contingency statement. They did not meet that term on that day nor for 4 days after that, so we called and canceled the sale come to find out at that dealership a salesman promise, a handshake and a hand written statement in a contract are non binding, as a result General rv will not give me my money back, but I promise to let anybody who is willing to listen hear about my experience read more

We purchased our DS #4328 from Independence RV a year ago. We had a great salesman but the service department was top notch. We had an issue with our air conditioner unit in the bedroom. We scheduled an appointment to have it looked at. The night before, our hydraulics went out. We couldn't get our big slide out or the levels up. Newmar helped us out with a bypass to get us moving. Independent fixed both issues and even though it was 2 months out of warranty, it was covered. Shane did a fabulous job of keeping us informed and got us back on the road within 5 hours. Very disappointing experience with this dealership. Same thing with other reviewer that said they got verbal price on phone, then put deposit down, and then they raised the price. You know - the salesperson shouldn't have sold it to you for that price....line. I should have run then but I didn't. Then financing debacle. Here's what you need to know, which I didn't given it's my first rig: 1) you need to have liquidity of 2-4x price of rig (if your assets are in couples names and one is financing you need 4x). So we got past this hurdle. 2) you need to have had comparable debt in the last seven years. Not having debt will hurt you so remember as you age to have debt. I used to have mortgages in my name but not in last seven years. Alternative is you pay with cash. I was in process of doing just that and got a break up email from salesperson last night telling me they couldn't hold rig so deal is off! They didn't know that I wasn't going to wire them today. Maybe they have someone that will pay more waiting so they don't care that they took my deposit. I feel like I got screwed. Buyer beware. read more

I purchased a 2015 Dutch Star model 4002. Our sales person Scott Hamiliton was awesome. He is very know knowledgeable about Newmar Motor homes. He was responsive in having issues corrected that our inspector found. He went above and beyond. He was available to answer any questions we had. To bad Independane RV can't clone him. The only issue we had was that we were charged $1800.00 for paint protection that we did not want. I had called to talk to Scott but he was off for the day. I talked to Ricky Dee who was in on the deal do to the fact that I worked on a RV last year, but decided not to purchase. I let him know that I did not want the paint protection. He said he would tell finance that, When we went to do the paper work, they had the $1800.00 included in the price. When I said I had spoke with Ricky, she called him and put him on the speaker. He denied that I had spoke to him about this. I asked Joni if they work with me on the price but was told the state of Florida sets this price. I find this very unlikely. Jason who did the final walk through found a few more items that needed adjusted or repaired that was not on the inspection report. That speaks volumes to me as to the integrity Independance RV. I do recommend Independence RV. If you do decide to go there, be sure to ask for Scott Hamilton. He is an excellent professional. Don Y. read more

I've come here a few times with a friend who owns an RV. I help him transport it and this is where he goes for servicing. The staff has always been friendly and knowledgable, as well as helpful but today's visit was especially helpful. We were given some bad information from someone about the wattage of a plug and without the help of the staff, we almost certainly would have fried some appliances inside the RV. Not to be - Everyone we worked with treated my wife and I with professional politeness. Malcom was our salesman who worked to get everything right before taking possession. Jody helped us source the best financing. Shane resolved an outstanding recall issue, and three service department techs were great teachers before we left the lot. Would have been 5 stars, but I had to inform them about the outstanding safety recall notice and that the tires were all 20 psi low. Bait and switch sales at its finest! They had a used RV my wife and I have looked for several months to find. Over the phone initially we had a verbal deal at 80,000 and would phone in a deposit after I had a relative in Florida look at it since I live in California. Well that afternoon it sold my fault for not giving a deposit initially. 2 days later I get a message from the salesman that the financing fell through on the other deal and now it is available again. This time though the salesman Mark says his manager won't budge below 83,000 plus tax and licensing. Well it's not the deal we had but ok. Another hour goes by and I get a text from Mark now they have changed their mind it's now 89,000 plus tax! Shady at best. Just glad they decided to screw me over the phone and not after I purchased plane tickets and flew to Florida. read more

My husband snd recently purchased a 2018 Newmar Dutch Star from independence. Our 2014 Tiffin Phaeton sold in RV TRADER while we were vacationing in Disneys ft wilderness campground. Our plan was to drive home to MA.. but the people flew into florida from Texas to pick up our Tiffin. In a need to find something quick that had everything We wanted in our new coach.. i called many dealers and searched RV Trader. I came across independence RV on rv trader snd called them. I was fortunate to connect with Dave Scott. Dave was an RV Angel. Not only did he find my perfect coach.. but they allowed us to leave ours there for pick up by the new owners the next day. When the new people picked up our coach.. he gave them a run through and helped them on their way. Thus transaction took less than a week. Who does that. Independence RV- not a favorable experience. Your motorhome could encounter security issues here. We strongly urge the business adjacent and also on premises is an auto detailing business to be looked into for employment issues/breeches of conduct. exterior parts of our rig were tampered with and in addition, some items were actually removed. by the way* not DEF fluid, it was gasoline, and the tyre coverings, 2 of which were missing. (might be mistaking us with another customer.) Still, negligences of this type fall on the part of Independence RV. Due to the fact that there is also another business is located in its premises. Sidenote: According to the BBB "Independence RV" has not been accredited/advocated by the Better Business Bureau. Please look into security issues within the staff here on property - would be a good place to start. read more

Our salesman was Jeff H who was fairly new at the dealership and gave us his cell phone in case we ever needed to talk to him - he did a good job getting answers for our questions and the trade in process was VERY easy. Our closing was super easy and she was extremely friendly - first time we have ever purchased the extended warranty - she did a great job explaining. We had several items added to our new rig prior to taking possession and they did an excellent job getting it done in my husbands timeline which was pretty short. We really enjoyed our walk through (cannot remember his name) but he was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Justin Mishler, a salesman at the time for Independence RV sold us a Class A RV with existing water damage without disclosing the areas of concern before the sale. At first we were unable to see the water damage as it was only leaking into the interior walls, after months we began to see the water leaking in through softened walls and floor boards. Our insurance sent out an agent for an assessment. He confirmed the reason for the leaks throughout the RV being past damage that was never properly mended. We originally contacted Justin in September and he made promises to help us trade into something we could afford. He reneged this promise in December of 2017 after he had been promoted to the manager of the dealership. Justin is well aware that we live in this RV full time. read more

We live in Nashville, TN and looked all over trying to find the right one and in the process had visited several dealerships located in four different states. Several RV owners we met had previously purchased coaches from Independence RV and highly recommended them. We contacted Independence RV and Chris Kappa was very helpful over the phone with information and guidance that led to our trip to Independence RV. Chris Kappa was away from the dealership at the time of our first trip to Independence and GM Ray Douglass paired us with our Salesman Chris Szopa. He stepped right in and was great to deal with. We told him what features we wanted and our price range. Chris discussed a number of RV options with us and then showed us several RVs and we were able to finally find the one for us. It did not stop there, the whole staff at Independence RV were there for us helping and answering any questions we had including Ray Douglass the GM. All of these individuals went well above and beyond the norm to help us and make sure we were more than satisfied with our purchasing experience. Jodi, the closing/finance lady, was very helpful with her extensive experience/knowledge smoothing out the closing process. She presented the finance options available to us and what information we would need to provide the lender and to close the purchase. We were very impressed with how well the process went with Jodi's direction and patience. Thomas Jenkins was our tech person that did the walk through on our coach. He was a tremendous help for us in learning about our coach and really increased our knowledge about the coach and how to properly operate it. Ed Nicklaus, a Tech with 37 years of experience at Independence RV did the work on our GMC and RV to prepare for towing. My truck was new and I was concerned not only about how the towing package would work but also how it would affect the look of our truck. We were well pleased as Ed did a great job for us. Bud Cherry, the parts manager also helped us pick out the towing system that would be best for our coach as well as being of great help with other items we needed. Chris Crawford, Customer Relations Coordinator, was very knowledgeable and most helpful on anything and everything to do with our coach. Independence RV is stellar. The buying process was smooth and easy. My RV was delivered with ZERO issues. They allowed me to stay on their Lot for 2 extra day "just to make sure I understood everything." The best part of my experience is is their Service dept. At Christmas I was driving to Disney. My Oasis hot water pump stopped working. I called Paul (service manager) and told him I was driving through Winter Garden in route to Disney, would have 7 people in my RV for Christmas and asked for help. Paul said, "stop-in, we'll fix it." The next day I pulled in at 9 a.m. expecting to spend the day. A service tech was waiting for me to arrive. My RV was finished by 10 a.m. It was finished so quickly I arrived at Disney before I was allowed to check-in! I've returned two other times and experienced the same level of empathy for my situation, quality repairs and speed to return my RV. Camped in town for a few days. Tree branch hit our skylight. Called Independence. They had one that would work. Pulled up to this class A dealership, in my salt covered pickup, worn jeans, since I was going to work on my RV. Before I got to the front door a salesman opened it greeted me. Asked for parts, he politely showed me. Chris in sales was very helpful on the phone and at the counter to be sure I had the correct skylight, caulk and other materials needed. He directed me to the hardware store for small parts, and harbor freight if I needed some cheap tools for installation. Very impressed with the experience. read more
