This market was far more stocked and better organized than the previous market I went to. There were well stocked aisles and it was easy to navigate. Parking was still tight but doable. Being from Southern California, this place has the best tamales I've been able to find in Texas thus far. My favorites are the jalapeño and cheese. The grocery selection is also the best I've seen if you're looking to cook authentic recipes at home. Unfortunately, I gave it three stars because I have had similar issues as other customers with the cashier being very rude to me seemingly because I do not speak fluent Spanish. read more

Sent my husband to get Barbacoa this AM. This issue he's had , has happened twice now. The language barrier is ridiculous, he knows how to order what we need, in Spanish , but the woman behind the counter felt it appropriate to ask, " no hablas español?" He said "no but", and she literally skipped over him and attended everyone else behind him. So, he stood there and waited for someone to tend to him, not knowing why that just happened. I for one, won't stand for this BS anymore, and am taking appropriate action. Friendly service quick and efficient very helpful. They have really good meat selections they prepare how you want. My favorite was the conchas bread was soft. We also bought a few groceries excellent prices. Next time we will eat at location smelled and looked great! read more

This place really impressed me. It is like a miniature Fiesta. Small, but, clean. They have lots to offer as far as packaged and canned goods go. Lots of Americano items. Their produce looks much healthier than that of HEB, and the prices are comparable. They have a taqueria that spits out some good azz tacos. They also do fresh tamales. I kept seeing this place driving by and finally stopped in for breakfast tacos. So glad I did! Their tacos are awesome -- definitely some of the best in town, and the price is great ($1.59 for corn tortilla, $1.79 for flour). The tortillas are home-made and their salsa verde is terrific. But the real highlight is the wide variety of meats. I've gotten to try several things I wasn't familiar with (desebrada), plus some old favorites (barbacoa, fajitas, etc.). My current favorite is the suadero, topped with a bit of chorizo. I also love the aguas frescas (tamarindo especially). The market is also fun -- the meat market has a great variety at good prices, and you'll find things you won't find at your big chain grocery stores, like fresh agave, tamarind, and Mexican candies and cookies. I go here at least once or twice a week for breakfast tacos now. read more

I bought a baby formula and it was expired. I had given it to my daughter already when I realized that there's something wrong with it. I never check the expiration date but who does? We trust the store too much, hoping they'd keep us safe from harm. Went to the store to return it, manager wanted to give me another formula but guess what, all of the formula being displayed are actually expired. I didn't go there to get another can, I went to get my money back and to make the manager be aware of what's going on. I had some breakfast tacos here and they were great and pretty authentic. I had a barbacoa, carnitas and some egg/potato tacos. The salsas were great, and I had one of their aguas frescas as well...the yellow one, some sort of tropical mix. So good!! I randomly stopped in here one day when I was using the laundromat in the same strip center to wash my king sized comforter that's too big for my washer at home. I was pleasantly surprised at the spacious, clean layout and the variety of offerings. I have been back twice for a few specific things though- their freshly made salsas, guacamole, and variety of veggies and spices that aren't carried at my HEB! The guac is amazing. Quick dinner for a family on the go.. we like to go in here and buy about 1lb of the cooked fajitas and some tortillas some pico de gallo and boom! You have dinner.. the meat is super good and tender and very flavourful. .they can be greasy sometimes but for the most part the fajitas are always good and they keep warm torillas in a cooler to gran on your way out.
