Long line. 2 employees, always.
Carol M.

Always , always a long wait. 2 employees. 15 customers. I only come get the aguas frescas and the wait is 30 minutes. Definitely my last time here for that.

40 min waiting time on sunday!

This spot is a staple when my friend comes into town. You will never be disappointed giving it a try !

This place is so generous with their proportions! I always get the Hot Cheetos elotes and mangonada. It's soooo good.

Have you ever had a salty and sweet drink? Well give that odd but melodious combination a try with a Mexican concoction called 'mangonada'. Perfect for the summer!

Best Michoacana Ice Cream shop that I have ever been to. They just have such a wide variety of flavors to satisfy any ice cream craving. They have your "normal" flavors such as chocolate, vanilla, starwberry, etc. They also have tropical flavors such as tamarind, mango, and lime. Then, they have all the flavors that you could ever want in a popsicle. If that wasn't enough, they can make fruit cups that are flavored with chamoy, a sweet tamarind sauce. I can go on and on. To top it off they also have elotes on their menu, along with chips smothered in cheese, and chicharon. You can find all sorts of things in this ice cream shop. The restaurant is also very cute inside. Pink, light green, and yellow colors decorate the walls. Its just very inviting and relaxing inside. Makes you really feel like your a kid in a candy shop, frozen candy at that. There are plenty of seats to sit and enjoy your ice cream. They even have a little section catered to kids. That section is decorated with small tables and chairs seated in front of a tv that plays nonstop cartoons. If you are ever craving an ice cold treat, stop on by at La Michoacana!

The one hour wait to order was worth it! And I rarely believe that. I can't even imagine how long the wait would be if it was the summer time. So first of, the place is spacious, cute, and popping! I can see why everyone wants to hang out and chill there in the summer. Also, it is very clean. I mean this is a big busy place and for them to keep it clean during a rush is impressive. I think it also shows how people respect the workers and the space. The menu is extensive and I love it! I am usually overwhelmed by big menus but this place made me excited. They have all the flavors I miss from my country and new items to try as well. My favorite of course is the mango with chamoy. I did not know you can mix those two together, it is pure genius. Lastly, the paletas was refreshing, sweet, and you know it is fresh made. I want to come back here and try every single thing in the menu. This place is highly recommended!!!

Experience: This review was completed during the Shelter-in-Place and Covid Pandemic. Business was very compliant with social distancing, which I really appreciate. Staff was very professional and patient. Parking: There is a parking lot located on the side of the business. It has a pink wall with a wired fence. You might miss it if you do not pay attention. There is also paid street parking right in front, but why do that when you can get free parking in their lot. Worth: Oh yes. This is worth a visit. This specific location appears to be larger compared to other Michoacana. I ordered the Strawberry Milkshake (As pictured below) and it surely did not disappoint. We also had an elotes, but we ate that up before I even took a picture lol Overall, their menue has numerous items, that it might take you a while to even choose.

I'm not too familiar with Mexican desserts but everything I tried was delicious! I love the guava ice cream and the mango pieces with chili powder. You can taste the freshness in all their ice creams. Will definitely be back to try the popsicles! Luckily there wasn't much of a line when I got here but I can see how it could get crowded really fast in the summer.

4.5 stars... I can totally see why. They make their own ice cream here. It's cold and creamy and just... YUM! I love paletas... I know. I'm never gonna be a skinny girl. But every time I walk into this place I just don't care. I am a simple girl. When I find something I like I stick with it. But not here. I get a different paleta every time I go because I literally wanna try everything. And I'm not afraid because I know I'll just love it... no matter what it is. This is so not me, folks. ^_~ The staff is super friendly. Now... not everyone speaks English and I don't speak Spanish so sometimes it takes a smile and some patience but totally worth it. For real. Eat here. =] =]

Limon mangoneada

There are many Hispanic Neverias in Albany Park. Similarly, they all have mangoneada. Who has the best-tasting chili sauce? I voted La Michoacan Premium! I had the limon-flavored mangoneada. That probably would be my favorite kind of Mexican snack. I love limon and I cannot lie...Oops, I think I've used this lyrical line way too many times so far. Hubby concurred with my evaluation on the chili sauce as well. He had the regular, mango-flavored mangoneada. We were chatting about mangoneada on the way like two (2) nerds discussing the molecular structure of sodium benzoate. There are many choices of pelatas, Aguas frescas, ice creams, and seven (7) or eight (8) different flavors of mangoneada. I don't think everything I named on the previous sentence is exhaustive. They have a plenty of seating, with restrooms for patrons onsite. Hence, it's a comfortable place to hang out and to enjoy your treats. The closet public transportation is the CTA 81 (Lawrence) bus. However, if you wanna explore Albany Park for fun, utilize the CTA Kedzie Brown Line station. Once you exit the station, head north on Kedzie until reaching Lawrence. Then turn east on Lawrence.

There was a line but fortunately the wait wasn't long and I saw a table open up just after I ordered. Food arrived quickly. I got the mango snowcloud and it was huge! It's definitely around a 2 or 3 people's serving size. Lushious cubes of ripe mangos sprinkled with mango popping boba surrounded the mountain of soft, pillowy, creamy, mango milk ice, which was topped with mango ice cream, further drizzled with mango sauce. It was decadent and refreshing, so tasty yet not overwhelmingly sweet. The flavors were so good!!! Highly recommend this and would be back to try other items on their menu.

We walked into a casual and modern space that works well for stopping by after a meal or meeting up with friends for something sweet. The interior is bright and clean, with a relaxed energy that makes it easy to settle in for a dessert without feeling rushed. The menu has a wide range of options, from shaved ice and mango sago to cakes and other fruit desserts, making it easy to find something depending on your mood. The mango mille crepe cake is one of the highlights and a great representation of what the shop does well. We ordered a slice and found the cake made with thin layers of crepe stacked together with cream and fresh mango, creating a texture that feels light while still being satisfying. The layers are soft and delicate, and the mango adds a bright fruitiness that keeps the dessert from feeling overly heavy or too sweet. The balance between the creamy layers and the fresh mango flavor made it feel more refreshing than a traditional cake, especially with the mango being ripe and fragrant. It was also one of the better choices for sharing, as the slice was generous enough to pass around the table. Beyond the mille crepe cake, the menu has plenty of variety with options like mango shaved ice, mango sticky rice, and fruit-based drinks. We appreciated that the desserts are presented carefully, making the experience feel more like a sit-down dessert stop rather than just grabbing something quick. The shaved ice was light and fluffy, with a good amount of mango and toppings that added texture without overwhelming the base. The fruit-based drinks were also refreshing and served as a nice palate cleanser between the richer desserts. The shop can get busy, especially after dinner hours, but the line usually moves along at a steady pace. The staff handled the flow efficiently, and the turnover was fast enough that even with a small wait, we were seated quickly. The seating area is comfortable, and the energy of the room stays lively without becoming too loud. Mango Mango Dessert is a solid Chinatown dessert destination if you are looking for fruit-forward sweets with a lighter, refreshing style. The mango mille crepe cake is a must-try for first visits and one of the items that best captures the appeal of the menu, offering a dessert that feels both visually appealing and satisfying to eat.

I wish I was able to travel with one of their cheesecakes but they require refrigeration. Anyhow the cheesecake itself was delicious super light, fluffy, and honestly felt like biting into a cloud. I had the salted egg but they had several flavor options that I would've loved to try if slices were available. The texture is what really stands out, and the flavor was unique and interesting in a good way. I couldn't quite put my finger on what it taste like, but it was sweet, but not too sweet They only sale but I consider a personal size but it's definitely enough to share with two people, maybe even three depending on how much of a sweet tooth you have. My only downside like others is the price. Paying around $19-$20 for a small cheesecake felt a bit steep, especially since they don't offer slices. I really wish they had smaller portions available so you could try different flavors without committing to a full cake prize. They package it very well and they also serve you a cute little fork set and a knife for cutting which I think is contributes to the price. The shop itself is very cute with chic décor and a lot of Asian-inspired artwork, which adds to the overall vibe. Customer service was friendly. When I visit Chicago again I'd definitely go back the texture and taste alone make it worth it but I do hope they consider offering smaller portions in the future.

Are you guys ready for this review??…read more So my partner decided we are going to china town for lunch with his mom and sister. Family day in the city, DURING A SNOWSTORM!! We arrive, place is closed, will open in 10 mins. Perfect, we go to a near by shop and I spot some demon hunter Stanley cups!! I get them of course! We head to lunch, everything is great! As we are heading out, my partners sister spots Te'amo! I ask if she's ever had mochi donuts. She hasn't, so of course we must stop in because everyone needs to try them at least once!!! We order at the kiask and patiently wait for our order. We get our order and leave....leaving the bag with the Stanley's behind!!! We don't realize this until we are home (45 mins away)! I immediately call, no answer, call again, no answer. I decide to DM their instagram page and guess what??? THEY HAD THE CUPS!!! Here I was thinking $150 in cups were gone. But they had them!!! A miracle!! 10/10 stars!! Anyway! I highly recommend the brûlée ube milk tea and the ube mochi donuts!!
