This review is based on multiple visits because I genuinely wanted to give this place several chances before writing one. I honestly don't know why I keep coming back. The only reason I do is because my sister likes this place, but every single time they mess up my order, and my orders are as simple as they come. * First visit: I ordered two scoops in a cup (one pistachio and one coconut). I received two scoops of pistachio. * Second visit: I ordered the exact same thing. This time I received two scoops of coconut. * Third visit: I ordered elotes with all the toppings, but they forgot the mayo. * Fourth visit (today): I ordered a mixed soft serve in a cone cup, but I was charged for two soft serves instead. To make matters worse, the employees barely spoke English, making it extremely difficult to resolve the issue. When I asked why my total was about $9 when the sign clearly listed the soft serve at around $3, both employees looked confused. I actually had to ask another customer in line to translate. She explained that one of the employees accidentally charged me twice and said they would refund one of the charges and that I should wait for my receipt. I waited, got my receipt, and it only showed that I had been charged twice, there was no refund. Not once did anyone apologize for the mistake or the inconvenience. Now I have to dispute a $3 charge with my bank because of their error. It's not even about the $3. It's the principle and the inconvenience. Every single visit has had some kind of error, and after giving this location four chances, I can honestly say I do not recommend this location at all. Consistently incorrect orders, billing mistakes, poor communication, and not even a simple apology have made every visit frustrating. read more

I love coming to La Michoacana especially this location. It is a huge spot that recently got even more seating and countertop services. The snacks are always made right in front of you and it always hits the spot. I thought it won't start solely because I wish ownership would have more staff present. Especially on a Saturday night. So I went here today and honestly the line takes forever we were waiting there for at least 20 minutes. While me and my family were ordering they took like 20 minutes just trying to get us our items that we ordered and while they were still getting us our food they started serving other customers while we were still waiting for ours, which i think could've been resolved if they just had all people serving assisting us (they had 3 people serving) I honestly think this review wouldn't be necessary if only the line didn't take that long .In total they took like 40 minutes and I regret coming here. I cannot say if the food here is good because the waits are so long. I went in last Friday around 4pm and waited 10 minutes before leaving. There was one woman working and the family had a large order for 5 people. There were two men in front of me and I just didn't have the time to wait longer. We've been indulging in ice cream, sorbet, or gelato every night for the last 8 nights as we were on vacation. He went with a pistachio paleta while I went with a mango one covered in chocolate. There was only 2 workers when I visited. I had the Doritos locos and it wasn't for my taste. It looked great in the photo on their banner, so I ordered it but I was disappointed. Edit: I'm glad a neighborhood business is doing well, but this place seems to be run really inefficiently, so that wait times (time spent standing in a very long line) can be 15-20 minutes, while the staff buzz around behind the counter. I get that they do things from scratch, and have a need to clean every crumb and drop between orders, and that the person who made your order is the person who rings you up, but it takes too long to be practical. They could designate one person to do the clean-up as the others prep the orders, and have another work the register, or divide up stations, and move things along in a much faster and less frustrating way. Honestly, the 20 minutes spent standing in line this last time just gave me lots of time to contemplate the inefficiencies, and think about how I'm less likely to come back. Had to try it out, just once, to see if it was any good. Then had to go again, just to make sure. In the interest of thoroughness, I was forced to go again. The verdict? I may have to go again, just to be really, really certain. This place has a really wide and interesting range of flavors of frozen treats. The decor is still a little sparse, and the prices aren't yet listed on the main signs behind the counter, but it's spacious and clean, and their products are tasty and reasonably priced.
