I wanted to try this place out since I was a fan of Fruit Love before they closed at this location. I was excited to see a Michoacana open in Pasadena too. I got nachos and a raspado de fresa. Nachos were good, pretty standards but expensive. I just don't think nachos should be more than $5 and these were almost $8. I also got a raspado de fresa. Although I could tell they made the fresa syrup fresh and in the kitchen, it tasted almost artificial and like they had mixed it with lechera which I wouldn't expect. I miss the variety of flavors that you could get at Fruit Love like lime and sandia. Apart from the food, service was just okay. There was only one person working so we understand it would take some more time but you also expect quick service when you go to a place like Michoacána and I think we were in line for almost 10 mins with only 1 group in front of us. The inside is clean and spacious enough to sit and eat. Although, again, I miss the spaciousness of Fruit Love and the games they provided to their patrons. Overall, it didn't live up to the expectation or the satisfaction of their predecessor. I'm hoping it just initial opening kinks to be worked out and I'd like to check them out again soon perhaps after a year or so of being open.

Beautiful. I feel like I'm back in Nogales, Sonora

I LOVEEEEEEEEEE this place!!! I crave it every single day. Everytime I come the staff is so helpful and kind. Often times they've allowed us to try new flavors they are working on. So generous. Love that it's family owned! I have never tried horchata de coco and I won't have it any other way. I'll literally go grab Mexican food and bring it here to have my delicious horchata drink and a fresas con crema as my dessert. All the ice cream and paletas and drinks are made in house. They have Gansito ice cream! Like whaaaaa?! Please sample it when you're here it's so bomb! Be patient if there's a wait! It's totally worth it!

Thanks Fernando for the great customer service today!

One of the best scoops of Ice Cream I've had in a long time! I've had Kinrose Creamery on my list…read morefor a minute and was so happy after my wife and I got to try a scoop. They are located in Mills Alley in Pasadena just look for the bright red sign and signage promoting some flavors. We came by after having dinner. The staff greeted us as we walked in. It was empty when we initially arrived then more customers filtered in shortly after. Staff allowed to sample their unique flavor options. **To note, they offer a few vegan flavors for those with dietary restrictions**. Always a huge plus and positive! The flavors are middle eastern inspired and the details are all listed. My wife and I sampled 2 flavors and we both enjoyed our selections. The flavors are memorable. We happily decided on the Sesame Halve (vegan) & Pistachio Konafa with Chocolate Shell (+$1.00) for myself. The presentation is one of a kind! The topping with the tiny little rose is a nice aesthetic and definitely their trademark. The location offers retro and colorful style seating for 10+ customers if I had to guess . Patio seats are also offered outside. Also, OG Pac-Man arcades are available inside. My wife loved her Sesame Halva and my Pistachio Konafa with Chocolate Shell totally reminded me of a Dubai Chocolate type of vibe with each bite! The whole first time visit was positive and would make me want to come by again to try something else! Presentation on point! Flavors on point! Vibes good! Tummies happy! Come by and just try! Thanks, Kinrose Creamery! ( ^_^)b

When we arrived, we were the only two there for a few minutes until more people came. We were greeted right away. We walked down a ramp that led us to their selections. It's a decent-sized shop with a few tables. Each table had a rose in a vase attached via velcro so you don't have to worry about tipping them over. The shop is also nicely decorated with wall art. It's been a few days since then and we can't stop thinking about coming back. They serve unique Middle-Eastern flavored ice cream. I ordered the Sesame Halva which is their vegan ice cream made of Halva ice cream with sesame & coconut. OMG, I've never tasted anything like this before. I love anything that has a sesame profile. If you like that nutty, sweet, and earthy flavor this one is for you. I could taste the coconut, but it wasn't overpowering. There were also little chunks of halva in there that added a slight bit of sweetness. The texture was similar to cookie dough, but softer. Aside from the taste, I loved the simple presentation of the small rose on top of the scoop. It made it look elegant. As you can tell, I am definitely coming back and highly recommend stopping by.

I loved the board games they have out for customers to play while hanging out and enjoying time together. The staff was super friendly, and I always appreciate supporting small family-owned businesses. The family history displayed on the wall was such a thoughtful and charming touch. There are so many sweet treat options to choose from -- ice cream, froyo, custard, homemade brownies, and homemade chocolate chip cookies. They even offer ice cream for our furry friends, which I thought was adorable. Vegan and sugar-free options are somewhat limited, but I still appreciated that they had options available at all. The Arabic coffee flavored ice cream was a 10/10, and the seasonal lemon pound cake flavor was also incredible. The restroom could use a little TLC, but thankfully we're there for the desserts, not the bathroom. Overall, such a cute spot with a cozy atmosphere and delicious treats!

The Jacksons... You win free ice cream on me if you recognize the pattern. Yes, that's right: these are all siblings who have seamlessly worked together in their respective fields. I raise the list to include Mia and Mark Pedersen - the brother and sister team behind the ice creamery Moo Moo Mia with locations in both Montrose and Monrovia. You won't find Mia and Mark bickering or partaking in sibling rivalry; but you WILL find them creating quality, home made ice cream for Angelinos. Mark and Mia made their way from Denmark to Los Angeles in 2009 initially working in a Danish franchise despite both having a background in ice cream-making. When Covid hit in 2020 with its path of destruction to so many businesses; Mark and Mia decided they should cut their losses and create their own company that they can rely on their decision-making and thus Moo Moo Mia was born. Moo Moo Mia strives to produce Grade-A ice cream using crème de la crème ingredients such as milk from Scott Brother Dairy cows (another sibling company where cows roam free on 900 acres and are hormone free producing sensational milk) and offer unique flavor combinations. After a recent poor gelato experience at another LA business; my boyfriend and I decided to reward ourselves with ice cream from Moo Moo Mia on Honolulu in Montrose (this was our second time at this location). Nestled in the charming central Montrose corridor; Moo Moo Mia welcomes with a pastel color wheel façade/signage and a small square footage ice cream shop. When I say 'small'; I genuinely mean small as Moo Moo Mia is tiny with a display case/order counter and a claustrophobic standing room space with a few loose tables outside. This is definitely an "order and get out" establishment. Due to this congestion, Moo Moo Mia felt a bit hectic on both of our visits which always makes one feel guilty to ask for samples in order to not hold up the line. The flavor options at Moo Moo Mia aren't super extensive (there isn't that much to choose from) BUT there do have those unique combinations Mia and Mark boast of with pride. I have sampled a few flavors at Moo Moo Mia such as Honey Lavender (Sweet cream ice cream layered with delicate ribbons of lavender and finished with a touch of raw organic honey - so good with perfect lavender notes!), March flavor of ice cream with Luck Charms marshmallows and Sweet Taro. On our second visit, my boyfriend kept it simple with a single cone ($5.50) of Madagascar Vanilla Bean (Made with imported ground Madagascar vanilla beans) and a kid's cup ($4.25) of March's monthly flavor Coconut Ube for me. Mark and Mia aren't exaggerating about Moo Moo Mia's ice cream as it truly is quite good: creamy, thick and not overly sweet; the texture is perfection. The Honey Lavender holds my heart but the Coconut Ube was also delicious although it tasted of 95% ube with a small 5% after taste of coconut water. Good thing I like Ube! My boyfriend's vanilla was, in his words, "The best vanilla!" and I agree that Moo Moo Mia truly elevates a basic flavor making it extra special. The consensus is that the ice cream is wonderful, no doubt. The customer service at Moo Moo Mia leaves a lot to be desired, however. During both visits the associates were very dry, somewhat curt - although not rude, per se - and are literally only there to get the job done and that's it. Even though this isn't too terrible; it prevents Moo Moo Mia from being a perfect experience. Moo Moo Mia is a delicious and quality option for an ice cream treat that you can truly taste but the lack of numerous flavor options, the teen-tiny shop and the customer service are flaws that keep it from being exceptional. Despite this, Moo Moo Mia is recommended for all ice cream lovers - whether you have a sibling or not!

I can happily report that we've been coming here since 2021, and every single visit has been perfect. I love their creative flavor combinations, and they even have doggie ice creams in their fridge by the register. The interior is very inviting, but I do agree with other reviewers that for a cavernous space, there basically isn't any seating. This isn't a problem for us as we take our scoops to the free tables at One Colorado (behind the ice cream shop) and eat outside with our dog. Service is stellar. I appreciate how patient the staff is and how much they want you to choose a flavor that you really want to eat. The test for me is always how places treat my older parents, who sometimes have a few extra questions and take a few extra moments to decide. I never feel like we are in the way or a burden, and so it's no surprise that this is my 74 year old dad's favorite spot. We'll keep coming as long as it stays like this! All the flavors were very good except for the Cinnamon which I thought was very light in taste. Since I was driving, I chose an ice cream shake instead of a cup or cone. Caramel Macchiato was my pick! It had a really nice caramel flavor with coffee bean bits. I was slightly disappointed that they didn't pile up the ice cream to the top of the lid. It stopped at the top of the cup. I felt I was shorted some ice cream unfortunately. Hence, 4 stars! Nevertheless, Nick was amazing. His service was fantastic. Wonderful conversation and experience.
