    First ice cream ever 2026

Thank you, 2026, for kicking off with ice cream--bold choice, no notes. Dog treats? Always free. As they should be. Bruster's : Rooted on the East Coast, now proudly hailed in California--coastal glow-up complete. There's no indoor seating, but who needs walls when you've got plenty of outdoor spots and good weather pretending it's effortless? It's the kind of upscale suburb where everything feels just right for a pit stop before a hike, or a slow cruise down Chevy Chase Dr. to peek at the Maison and quietly dream. One day, I will buy one. Manifesting responsibly. Until then I be capitalist, work hard, smile often, tip well, and stay far, far away from the loony. Cheers to ice cream beginnings and delusional optimism done right. Ohh yeah, with my puppy!

What a yummy surprise!!! This little ice cream spot opened in October 2024, and while it may look small - don't be fooled! They offer a great variety of flavors, and everything tasted so fresh and homemade. I honestly haven't had ice cream like this in a long time! I was helped by Sabrina, who was absolutely wonderful and such a joy to talk to. Usually, people working at ice cream shops don't really make you feel welcomed - but she was the complete opposite. Her energy and friendliness truly made the experience even better. I don't live close to this area, but between the amazing service, the delicious ice cream, and the overall vibe of the area, it was 100% worth the trip. I'll definitely be back!

For the YELP event, I was treated to a delightful 2 scope waffle cone, and it truly lived up to the hype! The combination of strawberry and matcha flavors, paired with the perfectly toasted waffle cone, created a symphony of taste that was simply irresistible. We also purchased a scoop of ube and cookies and cream and both were amazing as well! Bruster's Ice Cream stands out as a fantastic choice, offering exceptional prices, quality, and an unparalleled taste experience. It's a welcomed addition to the ice cream scene in the La Canada/La Cresenta/Glendale area, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a delightful ice cream treat.

We've been here a few times and every time the service is great! They even have a cute little kids cone if your kid is shorter than the sign in front. The ice cream tastes great, it's a nice little treat. Parking is easy.

As a first time customer I was overwhelmed with all the flavors but the staff was more than willing to help me find the right flavor for my taste buds and was really friendly. The setting is perfect for an end date treat. Partner got a double scoop and I ended up with a flavorful strawberry milkshake that was spot on with the right amount of sweetness, real strawberry bits, and flavor . Was so milky and smooth I killed it on the 20 mins ride home!!!

This Bruster's Real Ice Cream is located in the same plaza as Target, specifically right next door to HomeGoods. This afternoon, a little before 1:30 pm, I visited this location with my little girl dog and my husband. The employee, whom we found out is the owner, was very nice and friendly. She greeted us as we were looking over the menu and offered to give us any samples. And we tried several. We ended up deciding to get: Medium Waffle Bowl, $8.25 (tax included, prior to tip)- This comes with 3 scoops, so we ended up getting mango, vanilla and rocky road. My husband and I really liked the mango and knew we had to get that as one of our flavors. The mango was refreshing and did not have that weird artificial taste. I also decided to get vanilla just because I like vanilla in general. And my husband decided to get rocky road (he didn't try a sample, it is just one of those flavors he likes). I thought the rocky road was too sweet for me so I only had a few bites. The waffle bowl was pretty good. The size is definitely a lot and think I would either just get a single scoop or get the small scoop (that comes with 2 scoops) to share with my husband next time. Pup Sundae- This is a small scoop of vanilla ice cream with broken pieces of a waffle cone/ bowl. Our little girl really loved it. It is nice that there is a few metal tables right across where you order outside so that we could eat with our little girl. There is also a metal bench as well. But please note that there is not indoor seating, as that seems to be common with other Bruster's locations. Service was very friendly and would love to come back if we were in the area again.

My wife and I tried Bruster's real ice cream for the first time. We tried the pistachio and the salted caramel. Both of the flavors were DELICIOUS, creamy and smooth. The pistachio ice cream had plenty of pistachio nuts and was ..AMAZING.. We really really liked a lot. The portions were very generous unlike other ice cream shops. We will definitely go back to try some of the other flavors as well as their shakes. We are so glad Bruster's real ice cream is in La Canada. We highly recommend Bruster's.

So the first step is admitting you have a problem. Given the frequency I've been coming to Bruster's clearly I have a problem. Here's a brief recap - it's better than Handel's. It's better than Froyo and whatever else is in the neighborhood.

It's wonderful that we have an ice cream stop back in this shopping center again. After speaking with the friendly owner, she informed me that they make their umpteen varieties of ice cream fresh, on-site daily. And you could really taste the freshness! Even in the fluffiness of the whipped cream. We tried a few samples before committing to our banana split order. They were willing to give us as many samples as we wanted, which is very gracious. Fun tip: Bring a banana on Thursdays for half off banana splits.

First time coming here and was so happy with the quality of their ice creams, the service, and the outdoor benches and seating. The weather was gorgeous, warm, and perfect for ice cream. Bruster's has been on our radar for a while and I'm happy they are in the hood. It's tucked away in the Target/HomeGoods shopping center, aka plenty of parking (!!!). No indoor seating, but we are spoiled with glamorous weather every day so I'm not mad about that! My daughter got the kids scoop of cookies and cream, I got the vegan white raspberry truffle oat milk in a waffle cone. We were silent in happiness. The vegan flavor was not too sweet and I loved that. Portions were generous without being monstrous. Price - affordable! Thanks to Finn for helping us decide on flavors and for his friendly service! I even got to chat with the super nice owner and all their creams are churned on site - go support this local spot because they deserve the love.

Cool little spot.. service was good. Ice cream was good, very similar to its large competitor (I won't name competitors name). Tasted great. Cool spot to have in La Canada.

Brusters is a make-on-site, quality, chain ice cream shop offering above average ice cream at average prices. This location at the La Canada Flintridge Town Center is well placed, with a great ice cream, good service, good value, and a good location. This was our first time at a Bruster's and the ice cream was solid. They have a number of classic and seasonal flavors which are good but not especially innovative. We got the seasonal Coconut Cream Pie and Peppermint Oreo. These were both original, certainly homemade, rich, and bursting with flavor. The service is good, with the young man serving us samples. We weren't blown away by the service like at Handel's, but the staff was polite, prompt, and let us use our sign-up coupon for $3 off. The ice cream is served from a window with seating outside. Like Handel's, the majority of the floor space is dedicated to ice cream creation, with large visible freezers in the back, always a good use of space in my book. The value is average for ice cream of this quality, but there are plenty of opportunities for savings - a signup coupon, free ice-cream for anyone less than 40" in height, and more. This is appropriate for the quality, home-made ice-cream offered. Food: 4.5/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Value: 4/5

    Laura B.

Yummy ice cream but was disappointed to read their ingredients - full of preservatives and artificial coloring. Attached is a pic of just their plain chocolate, which was the cleanest one I found. We'll be going back to Handel's from here on out.

Yes, that's right: these are all siblings who have seamlessly worked together in their respective fields. I raise the list to include Mia and Mark Pedersen - the brother and sister team behind the ice creamery Moo Moo Mia with locations in both Montrose and Monrovia. You won't find Mia and Mark bickering or partaking in sibling rivalry; but you WILL find them creating quality, home made ice cream for Angelinos. Mark and Mia made their way from Denmark to Los Angeles in 2009 initially working in a Danish franchise despite both having a background in ice cream-making. When Covid hit in 2020 with its path of destruction to so many businesses; Mark and Mia decided they should cut their losses and create their own company that they can rely on their decision-making and thus Moo Moo Mia was born. Moo Moo Mia strives to produce Grade-A ice cream using crème de la crème ingredients such as milk from Scott Brother Dairy cows (another sibling company where cows roam free on 900 acres and are hormone free producing sensational milk) and offer unique flavor combinations. After a recent poor gelato experience at another LA business; my boyfriend and I decided to reward ourselves with ice cream from Moo Moo Mia on Honolulu in Montrose (this was our second time at this location). Nestled in the charming central Montrose corridor; Moo Moo Mia welcomes with a pastel color wheel façade/signage and a small square footage ice cream shop. When I say 'small'; I genuinely mean small as Moo Moo Mia is tiny with a display case/order counter and a claustrophobic standing room space with a few loose tables outside. This is definitely an "order and get out" establishment. Due to this congestion, Moo Moo Mia felt a bit hectic on both of our visits which always makes one feel guilty to ask for samples in order to not hold up the line. The flavor options at Moo Moo Mia aren't super extensive (there isn't that much to choose from) BUT there do have those unique combinations Mia and Mark boast of with pride. I have sampled a few flavors at Moo Moo Mia such as Honey Lavender (Sweet cream ice cream layered with delicate ribbons of lavender and finished with a touch of raw organic honey - so good with perfect lavender notes!), March flavor of ice cream with Luck Charms marshmallows and Sweet Taro. On our second visit, my boyfriend kept it simple with a single cone ($5.50) of Madagascar Vanilla Bean (Made with imported ground Madagascar vanilla beans) and a kid's cup ($4.25) of March's monthly flavor Coconut Ube for me. Mark and Mia aren't exaggerating about Moo Moo Mia's ice cream as it truly is quite good: creamy, thick and not overly sweet; the texture is perfection. The Honey Lavender holds my heart but the Coconut Ube was also delicious although it tasted of 95% ube with a small 5% after taste of coconut water. Good thing I like Ube! My boyfriend's vanilla was, in his words, "The best vanilla!" and I agree that Moo Moo Mia truly elevates a basic flavor making it extra special. The consensus is that the ice cream is wonderful, no doubt. The customer service at Moo Moo Mia leaves a lot to be desired, however. During both visits the associates were very dry, somewhat curt - although not rude, per se - and are literally only there to get the job done and that's it. Even though this isn't too terrible; it prevents Moo Moo Mia from being a perfect experience. Moo Moo Mia is a delicious and quality option for an ice cream treat that you can truly taste but the lack of numerous flavor options, the teen-tiny shop and the customer service are flaws that keep it from being exceptional. Despite this, Moo Moo Mia is recommended for all ice cream lovers - whether you have a sibling or not!
