Stopped in for a sweet treat! Sooooo many flavors to choose from! Love the 4 flavor sampler for $8! That's a steal these days! Got the mocha almond fudge & snix for my bf. Got myself the black cherry & tried the mocha rocky blast but didn't like it so they exchanged or actually just gave me a scoop of the rocky road I asked in replace! Super sad they took out my number one choice: cherry cordial ! The girl at the register said it was one of her favorites too so she was bummed also haha bring it back please! (: The girl who took my order was super nice & sweet! Very yummy, I love Handels will definitely go back'

I came here after I saw their Instagram post that they now have vegan friendly ice cream. Cashier had no idea and said they only had sorbet. I had to tell him that I talked to someone on the phone regarding this, and I told him about the Instagram post. That was when he asked his manager. She checked the allergen list and saw that their non dairy ice cream is vegan friendly containing no eggs either. They only had the non dairy peanut butter ice cream flavor at this location. I got mines in a cup. My girlfriend got the dairy strawberry cheesecake ice cream in a cone. We were both fans of our ice cream. Will definitely be back again. This location is located in a very busy plaza with ice cream lovers, Ulta, and Best Buy. Outdoor seating.

Located in Hasting Ranch, in the same plaza as Best Buy and Nordstrom Rack. Plenty of parking in the lot. Pros: service is quick & fast, very generous portion for a small size and cost, lots of different flavors, there is seating outside near the fountain and in the back area of the shop, Cons: the ice cream is very sweet in comparison to other ice cream shops in the area.

We were craving some ICE CREAM since it was a hot and warm evening! My husband said this Handel's location is particularly very good. So he brought me to check out!!... 2 SCOOPS: 10/10 My husband got the Dulce de leche and Rocky Road. He ALWAYS gets the BIGGER SCOOPS of ice cream. I don't know why? 2 SCOOPS: 8:10 I ordered a large cup as well but it came in a medium size cup. I got the TARO & STRAWBERRY CHEESECAKE flavors. The ice cream scoops were smaller and it was tilted like the leaning tower of PISA!!! AMBIANCE: 8/10 reminded me of DISNEYLAND! There's always a line but, ice cream does taste per pretty good... I would definitely recommend it if you're in AREA!! KEEP IT UP HANDEL'S HOMEMADE ICE CREAM!!!

Always have a nice experience here! Started to get the sampler which offers 4 different icecream scoops for $8. I usually share it with another person

    Tasty tasty ice cream.

Ice Cream is my favourite thing in the entire world and Handel's was a place I used to frequent when I lived in Las Vegas, so when we stumbled on this Handel's location in Pasadena, it was on like Donkey Kong. This location has two lines to order from, a nice cover for some shade, and some seating behind the restaurant to enjoy the ice cream. I ordered a scoop of the cookie monster (my absolute favourite flavour) and one of the chocolate something, I truly don't remember because it was seasonal but it was absolutely delicious as well. My one complaint with Handel's, is that you get the ice cream and then you pay.....ice cream melts, so as I stand there holding a cone and waiting patiently the cone is melting. The solution? every single ice cream place in the world should make you pay before you get the cone, it would make the entire problem go away. Moving on. Overall, Handel's of Pasadena is a fantastic ice cream spot serving fantastic ice cream. You really can't get much better then this.

One of my favorite places to get icecream (be warned it is pretty sweet). The lines are long but it goes by really fast. Ample seating and the service is always top notch. You can ask for any of their flavors to try which they have about 10000 of. There's so many options that it become paralyzing to choose from. I always get the flight since it allows me to try 4 flavors at once, and if I can't finish it I put it on the freezer. The regular scoops also have caps so if you don't finish you can save in the freezer for next time. The sizes of the scoops are huge! You can probably share a single scoop and still be satisfied. My favorite flavors are definitely gram central station (graham cracker taste with chunks of it in the Ice cream) and business which is banana cake with caramel and brownie pieces!) They also have icecream for your doggos! It's a 10/10 every time. There's so many parking spots and lots of places to sit. The vibes are immaculate and you get a sense of community when everyone is sitting, standing, and talking eating thru ice cream. A truly wonderful experience where I get to escape and enjoy. They also open really late at night so if you have cravings it's the perfect spot!

I Went to pick up my nephew from school and he was telling me how well he did on his algebra test. I couldn't help but treat him to ice cream. I mean that's what aunts are for. Handel's is located close to his high school so we went right after school.. there were people in line but the turnaround went quick. This location has two ordering windows and a few outdoor seats. The service was great but we were a little bummed about this location not giving out samples. Located in the hasting ranch shopping complex there is pleasantly plenty of parking. Overall, memories were made and treats were devoured.

Hands down the best praline pecan ice cream! If you are a fan of the thrifty's version, then the Handel's version will raise that bar even higher! It is incredible. WOW. The taste, the texture, and flavor really compliment one another better. I also tried the pistachio flavor, which is a nice option if you prefer something less sweet. One option I do highly recommend is the mango sorbet. OMGee is it amazing. It tastes just like you are eating a real mango. It's light, refreshing, and delicious. If you have an upcoming colonoscopy and need the perfect excuse to eat a whole pint of the mango sorbet here's your opportunity as it is something you can eat for the clear diet. Did I personally do this, absolutely! Do I have any regrets? Zero! It made the colonoscopy process more enjoyable and less stressful. The choice is yours, jello or Handel's mango sorbet.

Located inside a plaza where Old Navy, Chipotle, and Ulta is. There is a small lot that has a few spots for Chipotle and Handel's. We've been wanting to try this place, and we finally did that today. There is a door where you can go inside to order, but from what I've seen, guests have been ordering through their side windows. Rain or shine, there is always a line (today was raining). Their handmade ice cream can be made into pints, quarts, shakes, floats, sundaes, I believe I saw malts, or just a cup/cone combo. So many flavors and toppings to choose from. It was hard for me to choose! I chose to take home a pint of ice cream while having a scoop (which looked like two scoops) vanilla to enjoy. My husband ordered their mint chocolate shake. It was so bright and colorful when the staff member scooped it into the blender. It was so thick it was hard to slurp up the straw. They also have tables and chairs on the other side of the building where guests can sit and enjoy their dessert under an umbrella. We will be back!

What We Ordered: -Small Strawberry Cone $5.75 -Small Orange Dream Cream Cup $5.75 -Four Scoop Sampler $7.50 Graham Central Station, Buckeye, Mint Chocolate Chip and Monkey Business Some of the best ice cream we've had in a long time. I've been to Handel's before, at a different location in LA, and it wasn't a very enjoyable experience. I remember the staff wasn't friendly, there was a long line with only one cashier, and the rest of the staff were chatting. The service felt lackluster and inattentive. I also recall a customer cutting in line, which bothered me. I came to this location to give Handel's another chance, and I'm glad I did. I prefer the setup at this location compared to the other one I've been to. There's a crowd control barrier, so customers know where to wait. There are some seats near the water fountain, which is where most people sit, but there's also table seating on the other side of the building, if you know to look for it. We visited Handel's in Pasadena after a fun day at Kidspace with the family. We were craving ice cream and made the short trip over! My son is easily pleased as long as they have strawberry ice cream; it makes him a happy camper! We were a little concerned about him having too much cold stuff since he just got over a cold. We wanted a kids' size cone, but they don't offer that, unfortunately. The smallest size is a "small," and the portion is HUGE! It looked to be 3 scoops worth. My wife was battling a cold and worried about her blood sugar, so she swore off sugar for the day. Of course, that didn't last long! I offered her one last chance to get ice cream, and she ordered a small cup of Orange Dream Cream, which she loved. I read about the four-scoop sampler online and knew I had to get it! I even researched popular flavors on Yelp, Reddit, and Google. Yes, I'm a nerd like that! I prepared a list of four flavors, with backups in case they were out of season or sold out. I ended up choosing Graham Central Station, Buckeye, Mint Chocolate Chip, and Monkey Business. My wife and son also tried my four-scoop sampler and particularly liked Mint Chocolate Chip and Monkey Business. I liked all the flavors I ordered, and it would be hard to pick a favorite, but if I had to choose, it would be between Graham Central Station and Mint Chocolate Chip. All the ice cream tastes very fresh and delicious. My son gave it a 100/100 and really enjoyed his strawberry ice cream. Even my wife, who is usually very picky about ice cream and sweets, loved it! Handel's is definitely our new family favorite, and we'll be back for sure!

My wife and I came to get a nice dessert after dinner, hadn't been in a while, and was a nice treat. Line moved fast even though it was decently long. Th area was kept clean and they had trash cans located around the area. I ordered the Mudpie which was coffee, chocolate and Oreos. My wife had sticky fingers. I love coffee ice cream, but the sticky fingers won today. It was delicious. creamy peanut butter ice cream packed with a rich caramel ripple, fudgy brownie pieces, and chocolate truffles filled with sea salt caramel. We order small they were around $6 each.

Simple but delicious ice cream and relatively affordable for LA/Pasadena. I love the coffee and lemon flavors. :-)

Ask the Community - Handel's Homemade Ice Cream

Does your shop offer sugar free ice cream?

They have an array of sorbet ice creams but I do not believe they have a sugar free option.

Heard they have $1.50 per scoop on Thurs? Is that true?

I've not seen it... double check

Does Handel have 1 dollar ice cream Wednesday like the one in upland?

Unfortunately no, each Handel's location is a franchise and has different offers.

Do they have sugar free ice cream?

Yes! I did some sugar free options the day I was there! Enjoy

Are there smaller portions- like kid sizes available? I'm all for more for less or whatever is worth but sometimes it's just too much ice cream and is a Two flavor one more portions than a single?

Unfortunately no kids sizes are available. And yes a two flavor scoop is one size bigger.

    Any vegan flavorS?

They do have vegan / sorbets options. Mango, Mixed berry, pomegranate, strawberry, vanilla pineapple, Apricot, blackberry, chocolate almond milk ice cream, coconut milk ice cream.

I have a peanut allergy - does your ice cream that do have peanuts share equipment with other ice creams? Thx

They do, you can ask them to clean the scoops and wash their hands, but no 100% guarantee that it's free of nuts

Do you have black Cherry flavor?

    Yes

My mom is a big fan of Pecan. She's in town visiting right now. I want to check to see if the Pecan ice cream flavors are available? Thank you.

There are several: Butter Pecan Praline Pecan…

What are the least busy hours?

Don't worry about it, just order in the app. Keep in mind that it might take 30 min from that point, so maybe order from home and pickup.

Mango Melon Shaved Ice -- $8.50 | 7.8/10 Mango-flavored shaved ice topped with melon balls and served with a side of milk drizzle. The shaved ice itself was SO soft and fluffy, and the milk drizzle gave it just the right amount of sweetness. The only thing was... I really couldn't taste much mango in the shaved ice. It was pretty subtle, so I wouldn't say this one completely blew me away, but it was still a refreshing treat on a hot summer night. Definitely not the best I've had, but certainly not the worst! Injeolmi Shaved Ice -- $7.50 | 7.7/10 Milk-flavored shaved ice topped with mochi, layers of Injeolmi powder, and more milk drizzle. This was actually our first time trying Injeolmi, so we were curious! The combination of the soft shaved ice, milk drizzle, and nutty Injeolmi powder was really good and made for a fun flavor combination. My only complaint? THE MOCHI. They were soooo tiny! I wanted that satisfying chewy squish, but these little guys basically tasted like mini boba that disappeared the second I bit into them. The shaved ice itself was perfectly soft and honestly the star of both desserts. Inside, there aren't a ton of tables, but luckily we snagged one right when we walked in. And let me tell you... this place had a constant flow of customers the entire hour we were there! People were coming in and out left and right, with only one ordering machine, so expect a little patience if it gets busy. Overall, both shaved ices were pretty decent and made for the perfect little "I already ate too much but I'm still getting dessert" moment. Definitely a nice way to break the diet after our chicken feast! Would I come back? Absolutely, especially to try some of their other shaved ice flavors. Happy desserts!

I really wanted to try all so for sure I will be back. Next time, I'm passing on the matcha drinks. Tried the matcha latte with mango and the banana matcha, both of which I found to be lackluster.

Came here for the souffle pancakes and they didn't disappoint!…read more My party of 3 stopped by Saturday afternoon 2:30 pm and it wasn't crowded. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. We chose outdoor since it was such a nice day out. They have all of their desserts on display in the case, so you can peruse the options and see what looks good. So many of the desserts looked good, like the matcha yuzu chiffon crepe cake or the rose and lychee crepe cake. We ordered via the kiosk and got the mango sunshine souffle pancake ($16.50) and well as a couple drinks. My drink was the white peach lemon jasmine bliss ($6.25), with 50% sweetness and less ice. Even though there are signs everywhere saying that it takes 15-20 minutes for the souffle pancakes to be cooked, ours came out super quickly, in 5 minutes or so. We got it with the sauce on the side, but I regret doing that as I saw others getting it with the sauce on top and it was beautiful. The pancake was super fluffy and a bit eggy as well. We all really enjoyed it with the mango sauce. I made the mistake of eating the pancake first before trying a sip of my tea. The pancake was pretty sweet, so I could barely taste my drink, but I think it was good? I could taste a bit of the lemon but definitely not the white peach, which is a lighter flavor. I got a slice of their Hokkaido cheese cake roll for $7 to go and had it the next day. It was okay but definitely a bit pricy for what you get. I'd love to come back to try their other desserts and pancakes!

I ordered a matcha coco jasmine tea and I found that the jasmine flavor completely took over. The oolong peach crepe cake was yummy! It had little peach chunks throughout. Good oolong/peach flavor was light, airy, and slightly sweet. The black sesame chiffon roll was also light and subtly sweet with a nice nutty flavor. The cafe itself was pretty small with 3 small tables, 1 big table, and bar seatings with charging ports. The bathroom was closed and it was really warm inside. I couldn't see myself studying or staying too long, which may be for the best since parking is tricky and street parking has a 2 hour limit. An okay experience, but I don't see myself coming back.

Very disappointing experience with how we were treated…read more We went here for lunch last weekend and waited about an hour and a half for a table. When the host at the front, who was managing the waitlist, told us our table was getting cleaned, she pointed to a specific table that was being cleaned by the busboys. Shortly afterward, I saw a customer approached the staff, and they seated him at the same table we had just been told was ours. I immediately asked the manager what was going on. The manager told me that the host had "said it wrong" and that the other customer had a reservation. I understand that reservations need to be honored, but then why were we told that this particular table was ours after we had already waited 90 minutes? We had given our name, followed the waitlist process, and patiently waited. If there was a reservation for that table, the staff should have known and communicated that clearly. The next available table could have been given to the reservation party. What made the experience even more uncomfortable was the manager's attitude toward us compared with his attitude toward the other party. We had done nothing wrong. We were understandably unhappy because someone else was seated at the table we had just been promised. Since the confusion was caused by the restaurant, we would have appreciated at least a meaningful "I'm sorry." Instead, the manager seemed annoyed when speaking with us (think about a cold tone voice and side eyeing). At the same time, he was smiling and friendly toward the other party. The difference in attitude was very noticeable and left us feeling like we were not being treated fairly or equally. This was especially uncomfortable with the difference in our ethnicity and the other party. I cannot say for certain that race was the reason for what happened, but the combination of being passed over for a table we were told was ours, and then seeing the manager treat the other party so differently made it very difficult not to question. I hope the restaurant reviews how its hosts and managers handle situations like this, because customers deserve to be treated consistently and respectfully.

They seem to share the storefront with some other businesses, but there were some empty spaces. They had some limited high tops along the front window and one table. However it was really hot where we were sitting for an ice cream shop. Noah helped us with our order and she was super friendly. She was very gracious about offering us samples and telling us about the ice cream shop. So Wanderlust is inspired by global flavors, so you'll see unique flavors here. My cousin and I were pretty full from dinner so we decided to get the Tasting Trio ($6.50). We were told that these would be smaller scoops of each but you get to enjoy the variety, which was perfect for us. We opted for the Kinder, Ube Malted Crunch, and Japanese Neapolitan. This in itself was a nice mix of matcha, Sakura or Japanese cherry blossoms, and Hokkaido milk. All of the flavors were mild and not too sweet. I think my favorite was the Japanese Neapolitan. To be honest I was less excited by my experience with the Irvine location, but the flavors I tried here were much better. My cousin and I had a nice treat. It would have been a tad more enjoyable if it wasn't so hot here.
