After a soccer game at a nearby park my boyfriend and I decided to get some ice cream! We saw this Michoacana half a mile away and decided to give it a try. Parking was very limited since it's next to a neighborhood and gas station, but we still found a spot. We walked in and it was basically just a liquor store with a couple ice cream coolers in the corner but it's cool because you can just pick out some other snacks at the same time as getting your ice cream! Our guy behind the counter was really soft spoken and barely talked to us but still helped us out with samples and whatnot. I got a Tostiloco which was very flavorful but could have used more Tostitos and my boyfriend got some Cookie Monster ice cream in a cone which was great! I might have checked in to the wrong location? lol I went to the one in Garden walk Anaheim and as you can tell, not a local since I didn't know what the address was when I was checking in. I just assumed it was the one closest to my location. I know I should have doubled checked and added a business even :/ oh well. Anyways, in case that this is the one at the Garden walk, I ordered 2 cups of ice cream, a small guava and a medium one with gansito and another chocolate one since you are allowed for 2 flavors on the medium size ones. In addition to ice creams, they offer plenty of amazing snack selections, popsicles, and drinks. 2 ladies were working there when we visited and they were very friendly and helpful. They are generous in the portion. They place is kept clean and we enjoyed our treats the moment they handed us the ice creams cups! It was really refreshing and delicious on a hot summer day. Was craving tostilocos late at night and this was the only place open. It's in a gas station and the parking lot is really small. There's street parking but if you come too late at night there are cars already parked so you might have to wait. The tostilocos was a 10/10! We got it with everything but sadly ran out of jarritos but it was still delicious. I would come here if I had a late-night craving but other locations are open til 10. I just happened to crave this past 10 but hit the craving. Service was fast and the guy was very nice/friendly. You wait in a line and get your food and then go to the register to pay. This La Michoacana is located in a liquor store. It's opened until 2am which makes a perfect place for a late nights dessert. The parking lot is pretty small though. The worker behind the ice cream bar was so nice and helpful when I asked about flavors of the paletas. I ended up choosing the avocado crema paleta which was pretty good. My boyfriend got a double scoop of cookies and cream and he loved it! It was about $8 for a double scoop and paleta. read more

If I could I would give it a 0 star. I've ordered from here twice on Uber Eats. First time I was really wanting a late night snack and was so excited to get my ice cream since they have such variety. When it got here all the wrong flavors. So I decided to give a second chance, I ordered a few different an items even paid extra for some modifications. Guess what everything was wrong ! I've never been to a La Michoacana and I brought a couple of my students, who have said so many good things. We got to this location and it's a small set up, in a liquor store. I've seen these shops elsewhere so i knew immediately it wasn't going to be what I expected. They didn't have much to offer and it seemed like it was just a side thing to the liquor store. The guy working wasn't very helpful or knowledgeable. While he was serving us, a couple walked in to the liquor store counter. He acknowledged them. When we walked to the counter to pay, the employee helped the couple at the counter first even though we were there first AND he was serving us. I should have said something because it was rude of the employee and the couple at the counter. It was crazy expensive for what we got. When we left I realized we should have gone to an actual La Michoacana store front. The liquor store seemed nice from where we were but that was it. I would not recommend this place if you're going for the ice cream. My first experience was a disappointment. Oh, and they only had mango for fruit, they didn't have the chamoy straws, and the employee seemed annoyed when we asked for mango or chamoy for topping. read more

If there's one thing you need to do in your life, you should get the MANGONADA!!! This place looks super duper sketch, like those liquor stores you see on TV, but has THE BEST ice cream and frozen desserts! My entire adult life, I have been longing and dreaming to taste some Mexican desserts and I FINALLY was able to get a taste in California! Immediately walking into the store, I knew I was going to get the mangonada. We were greeted by a wonderful personality and he let us try ALL the flavors of ice cream and sherbet before helping us make a decision. I was also going to get a chamoy apple, but I think my taste buds would've went into overdrive lol You can order it with other flavors or just mango. I got just mango, but I recommend trying it with the watermelon ... it's THE BEST watermelon ice cream I've tried! The cup is coated in chamoy and sprinkled with tajin. The delicious mango ice cream is packed in the cup and mango cubes are piled on top. Then tamarind candies are added and even more chamoy is added on top. The mangonada is finally complete with a candied straw. Upon first bite, I food-gasmed the entire car ride all the way to In N Out. You definitely need to get this! This particular La Michoacana is located inside a liquor store. I came here in the evening with my fiance and there was a relatively long line of people waiting to get their ice cream fix. Yummy selection of flavors, with water-based flavors and milk-based flavors separated. The milk-based strawberry ice cream is absolutely wonderful. Not sickeningly sweet and not arficial tasting. Best. Paletas. Ever. La Michoacana was across the street from the hotel we we were staying at and we needed eggs and discovered they had paletas too! We were in town for 4 days and went back everyday we were there! Yes they were that good! The customer service was awesome! The nice guy that helped us the first day recommended a bunch of flavors and I am so glad I went with one of his favorites - Pine Nut! I had that same one each time. My daughter got Strawberry Cheesecake each time too. My son got Ferrero Rocher twice. My husband went with Oreo and Strawberries and Cream. Our friends got Avocado, Strawberry Cheesecake, Coconut and Ferrero Rocher. We all have had paletas before and we all agreed that these have been the best! They were so creamy, so flavorful and just soooo good! We could not stop talking about them! The store is a convenience store as well and during our stay we did go in for some snacks/drinks too.
