We were having dinner at the Anaheim Packing House/District and noticed this place had a variety of aguas frescas. There's watermelon, mango, horchata, jamaica and guava, tamarind etc. I ordered a mango one, there's no ice in the actual agua fresca container which is good because the ice doesn't melt there and mess up the flavor. The attendant asked if I'd like ice in it and they add it at the moment, there's only one size, it's pretty big, I shared it with my bf. It was about $9 or so, so not expensive at all. I felt a bit parched probably due to the salty cajun shrimps I was eating at the time. I had to go get something to drink. El Chamango fit the bill. They have huge jugs or jars of iced agua frescas such as mango, passion fruit, watermelon, cucumber, pineapple, orange, etc all set up right at the store front. The nice gentleman asked if I wanted to sample any of them. I said sure. He gave me a mixed of the different fruits basically good concoctions that other customers loved. Thank you for sharing and for your kind hospitality! Watermelon + mango and just passion fruit. We all shared both drinks. We all loved the former and liked the later. So refreshing and naturally healthy! You may ask for no ice like I did. He was kind to fill the cup up to the top. Juice is already iced in the jar... why would I want the flavor to be water downed even more... no thank you. I also got their chamango... I mean they are named El Chamango so it must be one of their signature drink. All 3 drinks were very good. No complaints! The cup size was big for the price of $10 each. Absolutely great value! I seem to be an outlier here but I LOVED my juice from here! It tasted very fresh/fresh squeezed to me. Lots of different flavors and the extremely friendly and patient woman behind the counter let me mix several juices together--I got passion fruit, pineapple, and orange juice mixed together and the combo was insanely good. Even my kids--who were in the midst of drinking fresh shakes made from the upstairs ice cream shop--had one sip of my juice and said mine was way better and basically stopped drinking theirs and finished mine. The juice had nice pulpy flavor and little bits of pineapple. They also stirred up the juice/ice mixture well before putting it in a cup so that I didn't get a cup of watered down juice. Weirdest experience ever at a Mexican aguas drink stand. Young lady asked if we wanted a sample and then everything took a turn downhill when we ordered our drinks. We ordered a cucumber and watermelon. Something was bothering her and she flipped a switch acting upset. Maybe it was the iced on top of the drink container. I honestly do not know, but she slammed the cucumber drink on the counter first and then a mango drink we didn't order. Flipped the screen rudely to pay and then lied to her co-worker that we ordered a mango drink because we got "mad" so we ordered a watermelon which is far from the truth. We wanted a watermelon sample and thats what ordered. We avoided her negative energy and just wanted to pay and leave. Even though the container is quite large, I thought $9 was a bit much for juice that's not freshly made to order. I would've been more forgiving of this if my juice had more flavor, but my soursop one mostly tasted like sugary water with a fruity aftertaste.
