My family has frequented this specific La Michoacana numerous times and we have been happy with the results. BUT, I went on May 11th and bought 10 lbs of Tablitas-marinaded. My issue was, i don't speak Spanish and the man behind the meat counter seemed visibly upset or peeved at me, as i ordered in English. Well, I got home and opened the bag and was upset with the worst cut of tablitas with way to much fat in every piece. I had to just throw some away that were all fat and NO meat. Recommendation - look at what you get before leaving. I will most likely be looking for a new Carniceria. read more

Let me tell you about these fine folks you're spending your hard earned money with. They are no good and among the lowest forms of life on the planet. Sounds harsh, until you consider the details of my story. I was hired about a month ago to service about 50 of their accounts. It all sounded good at the interview. I quickly found out things weren't as portrayed once the work began. Just last week, I drove from Dallas TX to Okla City & spent roughly 19 hours working their stores. Hard work with lots of responsibilities and deadline pressures. I am happy to report I finished the job and sold nearly $15,000 Worth of ice cream for these folks last week. It's bad enough when they only pay u a 4% commission. It's even worse when u have to find the trip out of your own pocket (gas, food etc) & they promise to reimburse you but don't. What's more is when they withhold your paycheck bc they don't respect you and feel like you're inferior to them. In other words, they're nothing more than thieves and liars who use and take advantage of people. I'm sure they'll respond in mind with some sort of sorry to shed them in a positive light while deflecting onto me. And thats fine. They know what they did. They knew what they were doing when they "interviewed" and hired me. It was all a game. Part of a master plan. These folks are trash and can't be trusted. Shop at your own risk. Bc if they'll do an employee that way, rest assured they'll screw you around too. Keep playing with them. read more

Great market and good service. The good at the hot deli was delicious exactly what we were looking for.

There is a hidden little gem of tacos here at the meat market that are less than $2 a taco. They have everything from pastor, carnitas, pollo, barbacoa, etc. One big plus is that they give you A LOT of meat. I am talking two big heaping piles for each taco. Only thing that makes me weary is the meat definitely doesn't look high quality so there's that. There also was a bone in my carnita taco. They do street style tacos with cilantro and onion for toppings and they have a salsa bar. The only one that I really liked was the green sauce. The rest are okay. I may or may not go back just because of the fact the meat tasted good, but when I found a bone it made me wonder about how well the meat is handled. read more

My friend told me about this place over a year ago but I was skeptical. A few months ago I decided to drop by for corn tortillas and ended up finding the tastiest marinated meat ever! I've been here about 5 times without any check ins. So far I haven't been given any "tainted" meat like other reviewers. The Good Stuff: - Large selection of meats to chose from - Grills easily, is tender, easy to cut and very savory. - The produce is actually pretty solid (I think it's better than Kroger's, Tom Thumb and Albertsons) - They have a better selection of crema and mexican cheeses to chose from. - They have hot tortillas kept nice and warm in a case. - The employees speak English and Spanish. (at least the ones I met) - The store is clean, net and tidy. The Bad Stuff - Other reviewers say the meat was bad. So far I haven't been given any. (cross my fingers) - Other reviewers are correct. The bathrooms need to be tended to. - The hot tortillas are often sold out. (don't worry there are better ones up the road at Mercado) I'm addicted to the chicken fajita meat. We had a party about 2 weeks ago and grilled beef and chicken fajitas. They polished everything off and asked for more. Not my favorite meat market but its close to my house. They have a wider selection of produce than anything else and those prices are cheaper than any chain store. (5/$1 lemons compared to 2/$1 at Kroger) I wont ever buy the fajita (most always skirt steak at carnicerias) here ever again. They don't even semi trim the fat or thick fibers off before they charge you $4.99/lb for it. The marinated chicken is really good though. They also have an eatery inside if you wanna have some lunch while you are there. They sell papusas with loroco which are hard to find in Arlington so try one if you never have and they are only $1.50 read more

On the corner of Arkansas and Cooper. Large parking lot nice looking building. We enjoyed looking at their produce and different varities of meat we did not see in Covington, La. Make a right turn when you enter and there is an area with several tables and chairs. We walked down a serving line where we could tell what some items were like beef tongue, tripe maybe chittlens, chicken and pork. On a side table was several condiments for making a taco. Think I was told you come by yourself darn looked good to me. Will be back later for sure. read more

What can I say about this place, well a lot of good things. This is my favorite place to buy meat for my cookouts. Their meat is not frozen which is a great thing, because you don't have to wait. If you buy it marinated it's good to go on your grill. I do buy other things beside meat here. They have produce at fair prices compared to groceries stores so while you are here you can make all the side things like onions, potatoes, cilantro, stuff for your salsas or side dishes. If you feel like grabbing a bite they also offer cooked food. For about $8 you have the choice of 2 meats, rice, beans, tortillas and a salsa bar. They keep it clean in there so that gives me peace of mind. Their parking lot is big enough, so no problem with parking. They have so many things you can buy here and some products you will not find at a bigger grocery store/ meat markets. They do speak English so don't let that be an excuse not to try it out. Their staff is very helpful and even if they don't know they will find someone to help you out. read more

Awesome fajita meat, at around 5 bucks a lb it cannot be beat for having a fiesta. Friendly people and best prices around town. They're salsas and guacamole that are pre packaged are pretty tasty too. The red one definitely has a kick so beware. I have not had a chance to try they're tacos yet....maybe next time. Great meat selection on several visits but this time we got tainted chicken meat. It was a whole chicken and it smelled awful. Tried calling them to let them know but got no answer. I really hope some drunk person doesn't buy one and throw it on the grill unknowingly. That will end in a nasty hospital visit. Other than that we like the place. Their riblets are amazing....As long as you smell them first. read more
