I have gone here for years and never had a problem. Everything has always been great. Today I got a gazpacho and it tasted spoiled. Not sure if it was the juice added to it or the fruit/vegetables in it but it was obviously spoiled. I tossed it in the garbage and called to ask if i could get a credit or a replacement. Fantastic place. I had a shake which was $5.00 plus tax. I was a little worried to pay so much and possibly be disappointed. It was truly amazing!! Well worth the price. All homemade and it tastes like it's just cream, sugar, and whatever fruit, nut, chocolate is included...fabulous! The best we have had so far are the pistachio and coconut. So glad I did because it was the most flavorful, rich ice cream ever. There were so many flavors and very interesting ones, too, like tequila and tamarind. I went safe and had a scoop of the pistachio and a scoop of the nut. Both were full of nuts...would you like ice cream with your nuts? Also, it wasn't too sweet. We just left and I have to say, it was awesome! The fruit was cut fresh right in front of you, they also had a huge variety of ice cream, paletas (Mexican Popsicles) and even fruit water and shakes. Have you ever heard, "Latinos don't do basic snacks."? This is the prime example. The variety of food options is amazing. The first time I walked in here it was like a kid walking into a toy store. My eyes lit up, a white glow accompanied a heavenly singing as I opened the doors. I was on top of the world. I ran back and forth scanning the options. Shiny and squeaky clean floors and mats under my feet. Ferrero Rocher, Tequila, Pecan, Duran, Gansito, Coffee, Yes! There must have been 10s of 20s of ice cream flavors. Was I dead? Bam! On the other side corn! Bam! Over there was dorilocos and fresh fruit smoothies! Whabam! Aguas Frescas! I must of spent at least 30 minuets standing there crying. It was indeed a sight to behold. I am actually very disappointed in the quality of food at this place lately. I have been coming here for a year and the last two times we have come they have new people who are obviously inexperienced and don't know how to prepare your food items. My hubby and I always order a Mangoneada with cucumber prepared and last Saturday we ordered them and the Mango sorbet tastes like anything but mango, the cucumber sorbet is nothing but sugar. So not only is the turn around crazy with inexperienced staff but now their ice cream quality is lacking and awful. You use to b able to taste the fruit in their ice cream and especially sorbet but now it's food coloring and sugar plus they don't ever put enough lime and spices on it. Very disappointing and very sad for this particular food chain. Their other locations are still using quality products and haven't compromised the taste! I'll start by saying my mother in law lives in Cicero where I first discovered La Michoacana and was the only one open at the time. I always looked forward to driving all the way over their to visit and get a Yogurt with fresh fruit. I am 7 months pregnant and have been craving their yogurt all the time and never realized until a month or two ago they had a location right here in Joliet, literally 7 min away from me. My prayers have been answered that we don't have to drive so far for a delicious snack. The environment is very friendly and clean as well as great fresh products.
