Place has gone downhill. Poor quality meat in the burritos with meat, and the vegetarian burrito that I thought would be beans and cheese was nothing but rice inside. Plus, they charged me the same as for a meat filled burrito even though the menu (see picture) showed a lower price for the vegetarian burrito. Met a friend here. She is Mexican so I was sure it was authentic. It was! Upon sitting down, they knew her as she frequents the place often. While there, the primary customers were Spanish. I figure they wont eat at a place that sucks. They don't. Service was good. Horchata was decent, not the best Ive ever had, but, good. Enjoyed the salsa served with chips. Little heat but nothing major. My friend ordered something not in the menu as shes a vegetarian. She had cactus tacos. I guess they remove the spines on cactus and quick pan fry the cactus and serve w/ veggies & cilantro. Interesting! Guess if ur local and speak Spanish, you too can have access to items not regularly listed on the menu, but cool! I ordered the Cubana torta. ( ham, pork, milanesa beef, onions,scrambled egg, lettuce, cheese(swiss?wasnt sure) and I asked for cilantro on it. Mind you this was lunch time. When I ordered it, my friend laughed. I said to her "Is that bad? She said no, didnt know you were going with that? " Guess I misread her, cause I wasnt ready for how big this thing was! Its basically an oval shaped or football shaped bread with the ingredients inside. Further discussion with my work friend revealed that most order it for dinner? Oof! Wish I knew that. It was fantastic in taste! But of course, I didnt finish it. Great price $6.99 & its good for 2 meals. So yes authentic place, prices are good, service is decent, place looks run down but if youve read my mexican food reviews before, often means the food is better and when the building is all dollies up its probably American Mexican or tex mex, not the real McCoy! This is the nastiest place I've ever been to. Google reviews definitely lied because our food was continually wrong, everything in there was unsanitary, two of our dishes came out with raw meat, terrible customer service, and refusing to let us speak to the manager. we took our dishes back obviously we did not eat it because it was raw and they charged us for the remake without telling us until after and then to top it all off they completely ignored us after we tried to say something to them about how it was wrong of them to do that. She lied and said she watched us eat the sandwhich and they literally have a camera which we said to go watch the tape which she also refused. so yeah in the end just don't bother going here it isn't worth your time or safety. read more

Went back for carryout and ordered a Cubana torta but found a steak torta in my bag when I got home as they might of accidentally heard me talking about steak to a buddy of mine right after giving my order. I was pleased with my decision to not go back to get my intended Cubana torta. The torta was perfectly portioned as you tasted every ingredient with each bite. The lettuce were long thin shoe-string shaped and didn't overshadow the taste of the steak, which is the case from other places that I've gotten tortas from. Plenty of diced steak with some guacamole and a sour cream/mayo spread on top. This mishaps was somewhat of a blessing in disguise. read more

I go here at least one or twice a week! Everything on their menu is excellent! I never like chorizo until I went there theirs is homemade the best chorizo tacos I ever had in my life! They also have homemade tortillas! The employees are awesome and make you feel welcome! I always recommend them to my friends if I can't bring them myself! Loved this place until the other day.. WARNING.... already they take a long time to make a taco but it's worth the wait, we went on Sunday and yes it was busy and yes we forgot it was cinco de mayo but I ordered 2 chicken tinga tostadas and bf ordered 2 steak tacos, mine took 20 minutes- they were luke warm- and we waited another 5 for his when another gentleman walked in and ordered the same thing... they gave him our order is my guess! But their resolution was we will take it off your bill!! WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What was he suppose to eat! I went here tonight for the first time. I ordered 3 steak tacos with everything and a pork tamale (they also have chicken mole tamales). It took about 5 minutes to get my food to go, which was awesome cause it was a spontaneous on the way to work decision, so I'm glad it was fast. Having read some of the past reviews I was afraid that I would have been there way long and been late to work. I was still late but it was cause of the stupid train not because of La Mina. The tacos were good. They tasted authentic and they were made with El Milagro type corn tortillas which I prefer and was actually really surprised to see. Usually places use tortillas that are more like Guerrero, or Mission white corn tortillas. So that was awesome. The tamale could have had more filling. It was 97% masa, one chunk of meat and a smaller chunk and a spoon of sauce. It was still good. It's not the most aesthetically pleasing place but it felt very authentic and genuine. Really REALLY GOOD !! I got 3 tacos, One steak, one pork and one ground beef. Started with the steak, it was The best of the 3,and perfect. The red, hot sauce here, I absolutely am In love with, I could just dip the corn tortilla plain in that sauce. 2nd taco was the Pork, another A all the way. Than my least favorite, but still not bad, was the ground beef, I wouldn't bother with that again. Next time I will try a chicken, and 2 more steak! The place itself isn't anything fancy by any means, but I can see them cooking, the workers were friendly, and it was a nice atmosphere. Can't wait to try more things. read more
