Joseph and Kulani have been so patient, kind, and understanding -- they really take the time to make my boys feel safe, comfortable, and proud of themselves in the water. Big shoutout to the area director who came by to give helpful tips and guidance on how to best support the swim teachers with my boys' needs. That extra care meant so much to us. It's not always easy finding places that truly understand and care, but everyone here has shown such heart and compassion. Come a year later, I have been auto charged for lessons that I never agreed to. When I called to inquire about these charges they said it was because I had a lesson that had not been paid for within 8 days so they automatically purchase on your behalf. That's funny because I still have 6 paid lessons that I have to use. Secondly, they set me up for reoccurring lessons for one of my daughters without my approval. I have never signed up for reoccurring lessons and now I have to reach out to them to cancel because they warned me that if I don't pay for these in time they will automatically charge me again. So, now I have to contact customer service twice to fix things that I never agreed upon or approved or signed up for. What a waste of time and energy. Lastly, I was never planning on renewing lessons due to the fact that they do not have lesson slot availabilities for what I need. They hold lesson availabilities and prioritize times for private and semi-private in a group. So, when I want to use my semi-private lessons and do not have a group designated to that, my availability reduces drastically and I am not able to get the times that work for me. In addition, you are not able to use the gym's locker room facilities to shower, change or hold your belongings. You are supposed to share a one person public shower and change in small pop-ups where the floor is wet and you don't have anything to hang your items on and you are dealing with small children. They even frown upon you if you need to use the restrooms. This does not work for me. This is not sanitary and not convenient by any means.

There swim test policy is confusing to an experienced special needs child swimmer. It doesn't help that they blare loud music, while he does a swim test and can't pass with all the distractions! Payment system is also slow and ridiculous, need to update for a card scanner or tap to pay. They manually have to type in credit card number into payment system, had to wait while they were manually entering my credit card , While my autistic son elopes and runs into the pool without our supervision. Wouldn't recommend for any families with special needs children!

Do NOT Bring a Child Who Is Afraid of Water Here…read more My daughter is 3 years old, and this was her very first swimming lesson ever. Before her first lesson, I clearly told the staff that she was terrified of water and that my goal was simply for her to gradually build confidence and become comfortable in the water. I specifically asked them not to force her underwater. The instructor completely ignored my concerns. During her very first lesson, the instructor put my daughter's head underwater. She immediately panicked and cried. You could clearly see the fear on her face, yet the instructor continued putting her underwater multiple times while she was crying. How is a terrified 3-year-old supposed to learn to hold her breath underwater while she is panicking and crying? At one point, she choked on the water, and I had to stop the lesson and pull her out of the pool. She threw up at the pool afterward and told me she never wanted to swim again. It took months for her to overcome the fear from that experience. The staff member later contacted me and apologized. I explained that I was willing to give them another chance, but I made it extremely clear that my daughter needed to go at her own pace and would go underwater only when she was ready. When we returned for the second lesson, I reminded the staff multiple times not to put her underwater. I also told the instructor directly. Instead of respecting my request, I was told that they have their own "curriculum" that they follow. I explained that I understood they had a curriculum, but I was asking them to make an exception because of my daughter's previous experience and fear. Apparently, their "curriculum" is more important than listening to a parent and recognizing when a terrified 3-year-old is crying. They put her underwater AGAIN. My daughter was crying and clearly terrified, and they continued anyway. This was not teaching--it was forcing a frightened child into something she was not ready for. I simply wanted my daughter to learn basic swimming and water safety in a safe, patient, and supportive environment. Instead, they ignored my repeated requests and made her fear even worse. If your child is young or afraid of water, I strongly recommend staying away from this place. I would never trust them with my child again. A child's safety, trust, and emotional well-being should come before any "curriculum."

In the summer, the pool is 50 m, that runs from shallow to deep. There are also a few lanes in the deep end (13 ft) that are 25 yards. In the winter, they reconfigure the lanes so that they are 25 yards (shallow water) and 33 yards (from 7ʻ to 13ʻ). Overall the pool ranges in depth from 4ʻ to 7ʻ and 13.ʻ It is open year round for lap swimming. The other pool is a shallower pool, used primarily for family swim, and swimming for kids in the summer. They also use it for lessons and swim practice for the kids. They have designated hours for public lap swim in the big pool from 12 - 3 PM, M-Sa, and also include Sundays in the summer. Be sure to look for the FAST swim program website in order to reserve and pay for a lane for lap swim. In the summer, the community summer day camp programs come and use the pool, usually from around 11 - 2. There are lifeguards. If you are doing lap swim, itʻs recommended taht you know how to swim. Lap swim tends to be very busy, and most of the people swam in high school or college, many of them during 12 - 3 are older. Basic swim equipment: fins, paddles, kickboards, goggles, are allowed to use as part of your lap swim routine. Swimwear attire. Overall, itʻs a very nice facility. It could use some facility upgrades, like shaded areas where people can towel off in the hot summer months, and where others can wait. It could use more regular cleaning of the locker rooms especially in the summer, when there should be restroom/locker room attendants. It could use more signage, and graphics, and the check in for everyone using the pool should be located near the entrance -in its own building, or a ticket booth. Itʻs a great place.
