So recently my wife and I were taking part in the Yelp! Big Night In with trivia from Hambones trivia; and we weren't sure what to get? We searched and pondered the great yelposphere searching for ideas as we typically do when we want to try something new or unusual. And "bam!"; we found this cool little spot! Now not sure how much other reviews may go into detail about the quality of the food; but let me say it is definitely delicious! First off I have to highlight the house made tortilla chips and the smokey chipotle salsa that they come with. Excellent crunch, fresh flavor, just that little hit you in the back of your tongue smokey heat. Just writing about it has me salivating for chips and salsa ‍ Moving on past that; I have to highlight the chicken burrito. Delicious flavor! Packed with fresh grilled strips of chicken breast that are juicy and yet tender that they fall apart as you bite into them. Mixed in with some delicious rice and black beans making the perfect burrito. What's not highlighted are the tacos that my wife had. She said they were excellent! And I can attest to this since on our SECOND visit, I had to check out the taco situation for myself. I opted for a classic fish taco. And they certainly did not disappoint! Light crispy bits of fried fish mixed with a beautiful melange of peppers and red cabbage made them stand out and sing on my taste buds. But I can't forget the amazing habanero sauce that came with them to really set it off! Each meal did come complete with hits own order of rice and beans completing the whole dinning experience from the comfort of our own home. I can't forget to mention about the amazing cocktails that we had as well! We both chose to keep it authentic with a couple of margaritas; I chose mango and my wife had strawberry. Now I've had a few in my day and these were definitely made with some top shelve tequila blanco for sure. As soon as you took a small sip, you could immediately taste the flavor of the tequila and the cocktail as well. So you know it was well mixed and didn't skimp on the alcohol either. Overall price point wasn't bad. A modest price point for 2 meals including drinks. Would like to come back when the restaurant is open for normal business and see how they handle sit down orders as opposed to just take out. Great food for a decent price! Great Mexican dishes. My three chicken tacos were fresh and full of spicy goodness. The tacos salad was served on a tasty taco shell with heaps of marinated chicken topped with guacamole, sour cream and diced tomatoes. Our dishes came to the table reasonably fast and our server was very pleasant. We ate outside, cafe style, on the sidewalk. After we finished we had an enjoyable walk down Warren Street. Many cool interesting shops offering vintage antiques, clothing as well as art galleries beckon. We'll be back! read more

Hudson's newest Mexican restaurant at the corner of Warren and 7th opened their doors right in the midst of our Coronavirus craziness. I've been more than pleased with the multiple rounds of take-out I've enjoyed. In particular, I highly recommend the Ensenada Fish Tacos...as I begin salivating while typing:)! I am obsessed with La Mision!!! The menu offers something for everyone, and the prices are very affordable, the portions are very generous!!! I love the warm and inviting atmosphere and of course the staff are extremely friendly and helpful! I met chef Moises and he is so talented and charming. This is a perfect spot for dinner! Right on Warren in the middle of all the action. The staff is so nice. Our waiter was so pleasant and fun to talk to. They immediately brought out chips and salsa while we scanned the menu- which was awesome! We ordered guacamole for an appetizer which was so good. Service was slow. They lost our order in the kitchen. Took an hour to get our food. the food was just mediocre when we eventually got it.

I ate here on a Tuesday night. It was pretty busy. It was the biggest shit show as far as service I ever ate at and I go out to eat 5 days a week. It was unorganized and slow for starters. We ordered drinks the waitress said it might be a wait for them. We got our food about 25 mins after we ordered which is fine but we still didn't get waters or our drinks yet at this point. I don't know if they give free chips and salsa here but we also didn't get any of that. I ordered the fajitas with steak and chicken. It was very dry and certain parts of the meat were charred and burnt. My girlfriend enjoyed her food at least. Another waitress asked how my food was I told her honestly I just got an apology that's it. Being a gal from Spanish Harlem, I went right for the rice and beans, and ate some of my husband's! The portions were generous and oh, so tasty. After a first visit to this restaurant three years ago, when the waitress was rude and my drink was sent back twice, this was a really good surprise. I saw locals at the bar-a great sign-because the manager called the police on some locals on my first visit three years ago. I traveled from Long Island to Hudson for a weekend get-away knowing that I would find cute shops, good coffee and tasty food. Naturally, I gravitated to La Mision and looked up their reviews, pictures and ratings. Picking a restaurant is normally a debate but it wasn't hard at all to convince my partner to say "yes" to this location. -- What I really mean to say is that our experience matched our expectations! We both highly recommend the Chicken Enchilada with Mole Sauce along with the Nachos! We both agreed that it was the best version we have ever tasted. Chips were thick greasy tortilla type, not like good homemade chips. Tiny side of salsa. Ordered a frozen margarita and got a regular without ice, asked for frozen then they brought ice. For $14 they should've fixed it. Food came out and no utensils so we had to sit and wait. Ordered side of guacamole for chips but didn't make it out until food came. Steak Burrito chewy and mostly beans and rice. Chicken enchiladas were only 2, should've been 3 for the price. All edible but nothing great. Waited too long for the check, had to walk inside to finally pay so we could leave. I highly recommend picking up drinks, get chipotle takeout in Kingston and go park and picnic, would've been waaay better and less than half the price too. read more

Five adults arrived at 3 pm for quick bite to eat. Although there was a vacant two seat table next to a four seat table, a chair was placed at the end of the four seat to accommodate the five adults. When asked if the two seat table available could slide next to the four seat table, the waitress refused. Instead of accommodating the current five customers, the waitress was holding the table for potential future customers. Several other tables were empty at that time. The potential customers never arrived and the two seat table remained unused during our meal. The experience was disappointing, crowded and not enjoyable. By the the time we asked for our check all other tables in the restaurant were empty. Very poor customer service. I would never go back. There are plenty of restaurants I can patronize that appreciate their customers. read more

I never leave reviews but felt I needed to share how horribly I was treated by this place, and to implore you not to spend your hard earned money here like I had the mis fortune of doing. I live in catskill and had a taste for Mexican so I found this place online and ordered 2 fish tacos and 2 jalapeño margaritas to go. I drove about 5 miles to pick it up, When I got there I was handed a check and thought $52 was a little steep but I paid and left a tip of $9. on the drive home the margaritas tipped over and spilled because they had those dome lids with the big opening on top. I pulled over and called the restaurant ,while I was on hold I realized there was only one fish taco in the bag. I had just paid $61 and all I had was 1 fish taco!!!. The Manager/Owner got on the phone and said thats not my problem , So I drove back to the restaurant to talk to him face to face. The first thing he did when I walked in was to accuse me of drinking the margaritas. I was so upset I Ieft the empty Margaritas and the 1 fish taco on the counter and left. I paid this place $61 for nothing!! There's much better places to eat, This place is a racket! this is not Manhattan. The food is way overpriced and they don't care about customer service at all. We're loving this fresh, tasty addition to the neighborhood. Frequent diners at its sister restaurant in Stuyvesant, Pico de Gallo, we'd been anticipating the opening of La Mision and weren't disappointed. Everything we've had so far has been prepared with care and attention to detail. It's been very busy since opening and there have been a couple of service hiccups, but that is to be expected with any new business, so considering they're also dealing with state restrictions due to COVID, we're in for the long haul. Honestly I was looking forward to this place but I'm so disappointed. My family and I walked in and we were 9 people total. We let them know that we didn't have to sit at the same table because we understood that it was a large party. The first hostess/waitress said that it was fine and that she would clean up some tables if we didn't mind waiting. We agreed and not even a minute later another employee comes and says that they can't take us because she couldn't handle it. I have worked in the food and beverage industry and I completely understand that and appreciate the honesty but it wasn't what she said it was how she said it. She said that she couldn't have us at her door. She caught herself and realized and then changed her tone saying if we would like to leave a number but that she couldn't have us hanging in front of the restaurant.
