Our last day in Hudson and we were heading to the Opera House to see my wife's long time family friend's art display. I asked a woman canvassing for early voters for a place to eat and she recommended Tanzy's First off the owners were so sweet and you could tell it was a genuine local spot filled with love. When I ordered the pancakes I was gonna go full stack (3) and the server said "she makes them very big!" So I ordered two and these things were huge. Excellent flavor with real maple too, if you ask! The pork roll was solid as always and I'm always happy to see it on the menu. We ordered potatoes as well and they were extremely flavorful. The best part, one of the owners came out and gave me the recipe! Most of the patrons clearly visited on a regular basis and everyone really felt at home. I've been to many small restaurants in my day and you can tell when people really have a passion. At Tanzy's, I felt this way and will certainly stop back next time in Hudson! We were at Hudson,NY for a business trip and we were trying to find a spot to eat and stumbled upon this place. It is small mom and pops restaurant. They have 1 waitress to take your orders, it took quite a while for our food to come. They had 2 other tables that has a party of 4 or more and then us 2. So 3 tables all together, it took 30-45 mins for our order to came. When our food came wow, my pancake was really good!!the bacon was crispy and it was worth the wait. Tanzy's is the perfect spot for a quick breakfast or brunch before walking around Warren Street. It was recommended to us by our Airbnb host. It has a very homey, cozy, old-school feel and the staff is so kind. We arrived around 10:30am on a Sunday morning, so it was understandably busy. The two waitresses working at the restaurant seated us within 5 minutes of arriving, and quickly brought us hot coffee and water. We ordered the croissant French toast (with scrambled eggs and bacon) and fried eggs, toast, and breakfast sausage. The waitresses were super attentive in refilling our coffee and making sure we had everything we need. The food came out quickly and was all served hot. The croissant French toast in particular was so tasty, and it as truly a croissant made into French toast! The prices are very reasonable and the portions are generous. A small breakfast specialty location with a very homey feeling on the inside with old fashioned wall paper and tchotchkes decorating the interior. It's a smaller space so the inside is a little bit crowded. The restaurant is cash-only so be sure to have cash if you'd like to go. The service was friendly and we were served our food quickly. The portions were filling and so delicious. It's also located on a nice Main Street so it's a nice place to eat and then explore the town. I had the eggs over-easy and they were cooked to perfection. The bacon was the perfect amount of crispness as well which hit the spot for sure! I would recommend Tanzy's to others and would be a repeat customer if I were back in the area. read more

IMO there aren't any great breakfast spots in Hudson so we searched Yelp and found Tanzy's. Jayden, the waitress/host is a sweetheart and super efficient, the food was exactly what we wanted, the pastries are gorgeous & we even got a special visit from one of the "Tanzy" sisters. Homey, country store-style space, with older, local-looking clientele. Very standard offerings: eggs, pancakes, oatmeal. The most off-the-beaten-path option was a breakfast burrito. We ordered an egg sandwich, two oatmeals, a breakfast burrito, and sides of fresh fruit and pork roll. Strangely, this took over forty minutes to come out. The restaurant was reasonably full but didn't seem all that busy around 10 am on a Sunday. Egg sandwich was pretty good. The oatmeals were lukewarm and mushy. The burrito had decent components but had an overly watery salsa. Pork roll was our first time trying it but interesting. Fruit bowls were miniscule and mostly melon (an all-too-common problem). Coffee was also average. The prices were reasonable but given the interminable wait and mediocre food, wouldn't return or recommend. read more
