Buyer beware! La Ocasión Flower Shop is not worth your money or your mother's! Here's our story.... My elderly mom ordered me a "splendid" orchid for a special occasion. She was offered two upgrades by La Ocasion Flower Shop and accepted them both at additional charges. My mother was so excited to arrange for this special surprise. Upon delivery, I sent her a picture of my orchid, thanking her for the thoughtfulness. Immediately, she realized there was a mistake. While pretty, it was not at all what she ordered and paid for. She immediately phoned La Ocasión. For three weeks, she left messages and received little response and no accountability. She was told they didn't have the supplies to deliver what they sold her, but did not offer any sort of recompense. It wasn't until she threatened to call the Better Business Bureau that they processed a refund. Mistakes happen. Supply chain shortages happen. However, selling her an out of stock product and then refusing to take accountability for weeks is terrible business. Pictures attached. Like most seniors, my mother lives on a fixed income. She was so distressed at the idea La Ocasión might be taking advantage of her. For three weeks, she worried about a resolution. She didn't tell me until it was over. I ordered flowers for my sisters funeral and even though I had a confirmed delivery date, they delivered them a week early and the flowers were dead by the time of the funeral. Terrible flower arrangement and service for delivery. The arrangement arrived at 7.59pm it was left at our front door nobody rang the bell. Luckily we have ring. The flower arrangement was supposed to be deluxe it was not and looked nothing like the photo advertised except for the vase. The flowers were already dying when they arrived. One star is too many. I just received a bouquet sent to me by my mother-in-law for my birthday. I texted her to thank her, and she made sure to point out she knows my actual birthday is tomorrow since they were delivered a day early (she wanted to make sure I would be home). I told her I knew, although my husband and I were confused when the delivery came with a "Happy Easter" balloon (despite the fact that the card the shop included said Happy Birthday, so they knew the occasion). She didn't believe me and thought I was joking so I sent her a picture. She was so upset, not only about the balloon but also that the bouquet she ordered was nothing like what I received. After looking at other reviews, I'm not surprised the flowers don't last long, though I cannot attest to that yet as I haven't even had them 24 hours. What I can say is most regular people know to trim leaves from the stems where they will be in the water to prevent mold growth and premature death of the flowers, so the people working at a flower shop should DEFINITELY know this!. Not only is that not done, but the water also showed up looking less than fresh with all kinds of sediment. A sachet of flower food is usually also provided for when changing water to prolong the life of the flowers and yet none was included with my delivery. I'm not very hopeful that these will last long which is such a shame considering the expense that having flowers delivered comes with. They actually must not be able to see what they're doing. My succulent terrarium was a bowl that they plopped two dead succulents on top of some random twigs. Like just took them out of plastic pots and plopped them in nothing artistic or pretty just ugly dead succulents in a bowl of twigs. Really sends a great message that they don't care at all about the product. I could have dug this out of the Home Depot trash can and grabbed a dollar store bowl and saved myself 80 bucks. read more

I would give a zero if I could. The flowers said they were delivered and they were not, finally when they were delivered late that evening they looked nothing like the picture I ordered through 1-800 flowers and the recipient said they were wilted. I complained to 1-800 flowers and they said they could give me a discount because that's who I ordered from. The flower shop went and retrieved the flowers from my grieving friend. My daughters sent me some flowers through La Ocasion flower shop. One of my daughters arrangement was two days late, delivered at 1035pm two days later, and the other daughters was 6 days late. They were for my birthday. Flowers were very beautiful once they got to me, but my birthday gifts were very belated flower deliveries. Only when my daughters called, the day after my birthday, to get their money back was anything done. They tried to cancel their orders but the flower shop would only give them a $10 store credit. This review really needs to be a -1 star as the flowers were never delivered. A $116 centerpiece was ordered through FTD for delivery on December 22. As the day progressed with no delivery the ordering florist (in Cincinnati) called and was assured it would be delivered by 8 pm. No delivery. The ordering florist and I also called on December 23 am and were assured the arrangement was out for delivery. 4 PM no flowers and calls went to an answering machine. At 4:30 a person answered and said they would check with the delivery driver then hung up. Subsequent calls went to a voice mail. In these times it is important to have grace and understanding. However when there are lies and no flowers delivered understanding goes away. Update: flowers were delivered at 9:30 pm approximately 36 hours late. Additionally the largest size (of 3 sizes) was ordered and the smallest size was delivered with less than prime flowers. read more

This Flower shop gets 5 stars in my book for the following reasons. In the early morning I googled flower shop and it was a mile away and 10 miles to any other, with the acceptation of a ranch market that I didn't want to try... so I called worried that they might be to the trade or not even a regular flower shop.. I told them what the occasion was and that I usually could get an arrangement like that for around $30 as a walk-in.. they told me come on over and they would have something ready. When I got there the shop is pleasantly decorated very nicely with a variety of flowers and accessories to chose from. Within a few minutes they handed me a perfect arrangement and charged me the agreed $30 and I stayed on schedule and the day was a success.
