The richness of the flavor and the texture which is not reminiscent of the traditional roasted duck or foie gras, but rather a much more like a luxurious and indulgent version. We enjoyed our dinner on the outside of the restaurant after about a 20-30 minute wait. The bone marrow had the best flavor I've experienced for the dish. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

What made escargots special was the garlic butter and herb. Here, there were the herbs, no garlic, and French is famous with their butter but I taste oil but not buttery. Other places I actually get excited dipping the bread into the garlic butter but not here. Pan seared Foie gras - The quality of Foie Gras was definitely there. It's not as well seared as I hope but they managed to cook it through without overcooking it. The size of Foie Gras is kind of scary, it's like a small piece of rib eye steak. With just the onion soup and Foie Gras, I could barely swallow anything. Generous portion.

This resulted in us having maybe 3 tiny potatoes each and not near as much meat as we hoped for. We were expecting to each have our own dish. This was certainly not worth the 36€ per person price point (nearly $80 USD for the one pot of food), and we left the restaurant still hungry and extremely upset and disappointed by the service. A favorite for Parisians yes! For a tourist I'd tell you to run away and not go. This is my fifth visit to Paris, so not my first time at the rodeo. The manager was not rude, he was actually verbally abusive. The waiter was dismissive and absent at best. The menu is severely limited and the food average at best. Don't confuse "hip and happening' with 'rude and vulgar', that's vulgar as in crass and unsophisticated. There are many other bars in this area where a visitor will not be treated with a disdain that evolves into deliberate rudeness. Unfortunately, this attitude, while not always this extreme, is not uncommon in the Parisian gastronomy scene. What many locals fail to understand is: 1. While it may have been a long time ago, we, as Americans, played a key role in liberating France during WWII. 2. More relevant to today, tourists and business travelers like myself contributed €19.6 billion to the city's economy. With a city budget of only €9.7 billion, Paris would face a significant shortfall, exceeding €3 billion, without us. Sadly, due to this and other negative experiences, this will be my last trip to Paris. For those who do visit, stand your ground if you're not treated with respect. I feel bad for the staff. They were all polite and welcoming. I work for the mayor's office in New York under Michael Bloomberg and will send a copy of this review to Anne Hidalgo, the current mayor of Paris.
