Chicken Milanesa- chicken was tough, not edible.
    Ana L.

Quality of food is no bueno. Ordered chicken milanesa through Uber eats, food was warm, however chicken was stringy, tough and hard to chew. I don't believe the chicken to be fresh. Dish is def reheated... Sweet plantations were mushy and soft; over ripened isn't tasty. Biting Into mush isn't appetizing. Flan costs $4.95, yet it is store bought and also gross to eat. Why charge so much for store bought flan? Low quality reheated food, do not recommend. Order from Padellas instead.

    Apparently crunch chicken.... Horrible!

La Casa de Peinado is a new Colombian restaurant located in 441, between Sample Rd. And Coconut…read moreCreek. I have been told this is their second location. The venue is spacious and recently decorated with modern tiles and a few LCD TVs on the walls. They are usually playing old school colombia music. Menu is varied, with a lot of the expected Colombian dishes. The service has been pretty good on the few times we have visited. The food is pretty good and the prices are excellent! A bandeja paisa (meat, chicharon, sausage, egg, rice and beans) for $9.99 is an unbeatable deal! The portions are large, and at the end of your meal they give you a free scoop of ice cream! I don't know if they plan to keep that up, but it definitely puts a smile on my face! This is a great place to eat if you live or work in the area. Great food at unbeatable prices. I will be coming back for sure.

This is my second time at La Casa del Peinado. The first time I was not able to check in because…read morethey had some sort of permit issues being that they were in the process of changing restaurants from the prior owners to this current establishment. The two are not related at all but you could still see the prior restaurant on the Yelp app. I was very happy with my food and service then and I thought it was a shame I was not able to share it. But when we came this time around I made it a point to add to business . This time around the service was not as good, but everything else was great. We came in and there is only have a few tables and a whole lot of space which is a waste. I think they could add a few more tables to accommodate guests. There were four of us and we had to bring two tables together, they did not even offer to come and help with this, which I thought was a little dismissive. A girl came after five minutes or so to take in our drink order she was a little shy and didn't speak much which led me to believe that she is new, she was by no means rude, she came a couple of times to ask if everything was fine. She just needs a little more experience which I am sure she will get. Because it was four of us we ordered a meat platter for four people which is $40 and comes with an assorted of pork, beef, chicken, chorizo, morcilla potatoes and tostones. I also got a green salad. This is A LOT of food, even for 4 people. We ended up taking a lot of it home. The salad was also great. Lots of avocado and tomatoes. Prices are unbelievable, and the food tastes great and both times I have been here at the end of the meal they bring us a small cup with ice cream on the house, Which is great! it is the perfect amount not too little or not too much just something to sweeten up the pallet after all that Latin goodness. Their cafe con leche is also great. All in all, this a great place to come and have a casual lunch, it isn't high-end but it's better than a hole on the wall. Service is a hit or miss depending on who your waitress is, but it is adequate. Their food is very inexpensive and tasty and that is what matters most. This one is going on my Colombian regular spots.

We were one of only 3 tables and the one server was very attentive. They had latin pop music playing at a volume that was just right. We both got bowls off the lunch pricing menu. And we out food was out in 11 mins after placing the order. I got the Antiqueno. And it was great. Enjoyed the portion and the simple flavors. The pork belly was cooked perfectly which quite frankly is something that many restaurants mess up. They had also had these three home made sauces that were brought out to the table. One of which was a passion fruit based mayo that worked super well with my bowl. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

We had the beans, rice, sweet plantains, fries, and salad. It was all scrumptious and couldn't have asked for more for only $67. Nothing was dry and everything was flavorful. Our waitress was very patient and practiced our Spanish with us and we practiced English with her. She explained everything really well and kept us from over ordering. She was outstanding. The restaurant has a section with comfortable chairs and tables, but they also have two bars and a more casual seating section. The music was upbeat and fun without being too loud to talk over. They have nice little Colombian knickknacks for sale. We were too full to try desserts, but the ones behind the counter looked great! This place came highly recommended by our Colombian friend for authentic Cali food and now we recommend it to you.

Today I ordered Carne Asada and was just as delighted as my first visit. The entrée itself was very full. It came with grilled steak, rice, french fries and the salad. The steak was grilled to perfection and did not need any sauce however I did appreciate the sauce it came with. The rice was a salty delight. The salad was fresh and I love the tomato toppings. The service can be a little slow, but it's worth the short wait. The restaurant itself is quite big, it can fit both small and large families. There are booths and tables to choose from. Please check out this restaurant! 5/5.
