Wow! This was an amazing find thanks to a 5 star Yelp rating. I was still pleasantly surprised with the VERY good food. (See pictures). I had a asada bowl, and my family had burritos. My husband had the spicy lamb burrito and I was surprised that it was flavorful and tender. I sniffed for my asada steak to be made spicy and they did with good flavor. Went for first time today after I saw a posting from them on Nextdoor. The atmosphere could use an update but, unlike a lot of Portland restaurants, everybody was so so nice. But even better the tacos that I ordered were absolutely heavenly! The spicy red sauce was was an afterthought for me but I figured I would try it and it was delicious. La Parrilla has plenty of indoor seating with TVs going and some outdoor seating as well. I think I found my new favorite taco spot.. but they had plenty more for me to try. read more

We've been eating here regularly for quite a while now. Great food, very fresh, delicious! Seems to be family owned, very friendly, good service. I am partial to the La Parillia Bowl, also like the fish taco plate, and the cajun tallapia is fabulous. I don't usually eat meat, but fish and shrimp as well as veggie options on most items suit me fine. In these days of Covid, we often get our food to go and head a block south down 82nd to the park by the high school, they have some picnic tables, can usually find one empty or just plop down on the grass under a tree and enoy the day and our food. I suggest if you're going to eat at a public park, take an old blanket (I use an old packing blanket) to cover the table or to sit on. read more

I've been to La Parrilla several times now, mostly for tacos of all meat types, which I've enjoyed. However, my girlfriend and I recently got burritos, her Chorizo and me, carne asada. For some reason we both felt ill all day long after those burritos. This was the only truly negative experience I've had at La Parilla. Generally, I've enjoyed it very much. read more

Hours are advertised as open until 10:00. I arrived at 9:33 with a fairly hefty to go order for 4 hungry adults. I was informed that they had turned off the grill and were closed. I stated their website has their hours listed as open until 10;00. I was informed they had a slow night so we're closing. I had heard good reports from the Next Door app so needless to say, I was disappointed. Sad to think a new restaurant in the area does not care about building a clientele! read more

This is a phenomenal Mexican restaurant by any standard, and easily my favorite in Portland. The food is fresh, delicious and 100% restaurant quality. Portions are large. The service is excellent. Chef came out to make sure we thought everything was delicious. I have been here several times and usually get carne asada or shrimp plates which are always top notch. Tacos are also outstanding. My family ate here this evening. We where staying in the area before an early morning flight. My wife is dual citizen (USA and Mexican). She wanted pozole so we tried La Parrilla. When we got there she decided on the Carne Asada and shrimp. The service was very friendly and the food was GREAT. It was all fresh ingredients and made when ordered. Fantastic Mexican food, with killer prices! My wife and I stopped in here pretty late one evening after feverishly searching for a place to grab a bite from somewhere other than BK or McDs. Yelp reviews steered us in the right direction with this place! Besides super tasty food, the service was awesome. The lady who took our order (presumably the owner?) was so friendly and brought several different sauces to our table for us to try. She also kept the fresh chips and delicious salsa coming, which was much appreciated. Next time we're even remotely close to Portland, we'll go out of our way to eat here again! read more
