Drove all the way out here and no salad/hot bar. It's in all their posts, but not today. Going to Arby's.

Food was okay, and the service was friendly--though slow, which wasn't the server's fault. She was the only one on the floor and doing her best while the place was moderately busy. My real gripe is with the fruit cup. $6 got us: one tired-looking strawberry, five grapes, five blueberries, two slices of orange (one of which my 5-year-old called "bitter" when we got in the car), and about a third of a banana. I honestly thought it was a $0.99 add-on--not a $6 disappointment. When I asked about the price, both the waitress and the cashier said, "I just work here--I don't set the prices." Fair enough, but it still left a bad taste (pun intended). Pro tip: swing by the Love's down the road. We picked up two fruit cups there for $6 after getting gas--fresher, fuller, and far better value. Overall, no major complaints, but that fruit cup felt like an overpriced afterthought. read more

Let's start with service: few days back I went to La Paz diner for lunch or a late lunch early dinner. My waitresses name was Karlea. She done an excellent job! She spent the right about a time making sure that everything was OK, but not so much is it interrupted my meal! All in all, she is an outstanding waitress. And the food like always is superb. Shorty cooks there and he is one of the best cooks in Northern Indiana! The ambience is typical of a mom and pop restaurant with catchy little saying on the wall. A small community diner located off of old US 31 and State Road 6. This restaurant appears that it was once some type of fast food restaurant back in the day. I had the pork tenderloin sandwich with a side of coleslaw. The pork tenderloin was huge and seasoned well. The coleslaw was a bit of a mess, however, as they used extremely heavy amounts of mayo in it. After a couple bites, I chose not to finish it Service was a bit challenging at times. Cute Lil diner !!! I read reviews and saw they had Biscuit and Gravy. SOLD !!! I am a lover of a good B&G, but after I was all pumped up!!! They sadly feel short . Trust me I've have had horrible Biscuit and Gravy before and these were not that not at all !! But it's hard to Sprouse up a frozen pre made Biscuit from Sisco or Gordon's!!! THE GRAVY was on point made it not taste like bag Gravy mix but just because u grill a frozen pre made Biscuit to make it hot ur not helping it ur drying it out. So not gonna beat this meal up horrible because there PANCAKE'S are the show stopper. They were almost the size of my head they her ginormous and amazing. They were sweet so didn't need much syrup, but worth the stop for the pancakes. In a wrap up I'm going to come back. They have a good diner menu and there r things I'd like to try. Every small town should have a diner like this Clean. Quirky decorations. Friendly staff. Giant mugs of coffee. Places to put the walkers, canes, and strollers. The menu is long and quality diner fare. My father had a skillet that he liked. I went for the meatloaf Manhattan--sliced meatloaf on white bread with mashed potatoes; all smothered by a smooth, not too salty gravy. The combination worked. The stars at this diner are the pies. The key lime pie was tart like it should be. The pineapple cream pie was far superior to my grandmother's: thin, flaky crust; not too sweet and slightly chewy filling, and a beautiful merengue. The waitress reports that the pies are not made on site but by an Amish baker. That's one benefit of being in northern Indiana. In sum: come for the pie and coffee and a friendly smile. Order a meal if it's that time of day. read more

Waitress couldn't answer a few questions regarding fish dinner and other questions. My husband and I are in our 70's. When my husband inquired about the AYCE fish compared to standard fish meal she didn't know so he ordered the special. It was very good but too much (4 pieces of fish). He had 1 piece left over along with fries. When I asked for a to-go box I was told we couldn't take the 1pc of fish since it was an AYCE meal. I told the waitress he didn't ask for seconds nor did he receive any. I couldn't understand why we couldn't bring the one piece home when they would just trash it. After all we paid almost $15 for that dinner! We won't be going back. Service was also slow and they weren't busy when we arrived there. read more

It's been YEARS since Lapaz residents have had a place to meet for coffee and great company. I am from Lapaz and meeting for coffee was one of My favorite things when my dad was alive. I've eaten breakfast only here so far but it's always been on point! Seeing people I haven't seen since the old alibi restaurant closed years ago, is so awesome. We NEEDED this in our small town. This place is clean, comfortable and is always packed!!! I also love the area it is in and will be very good for those truck drivers coming off of the new bypass! be aware of the manager we had a group of 10 well over $100 or better for our food. Their menus are very confusing. Their side dishes are really not side dishes who orders breakfast and your side dish would be either a pancake or toast or a cup of fruit that's not the way toast is usually comes with it I would think a pancake or fruit would be the extra side no it's not you pay six dollars for a cup of fruit for the waitress to be new which she was very good misunderstood. it brought it to the managers attention. It was my fault , two of the customers couldn't even eat their meat it was awful but it was our fault because we didn't say anything. My hashbrowns look like scraped out baked potatoes that were flipped over on the griddle not that they weren't good but they weren't hashbrowns so yes, I paid six dollars for a cup of fruit that that owner would not even comp because there was a misunderstanding , we will never go back there again. Sad that an owner. Cop a bowl of fruit after we spent well over $100 and to lose 10 customers over a six dollar mix nice little waitress just started.
