    Clam roll.
    Jason H.

We stopped for lunch after furniture shopping. The food was good...service was pretty slow and forgetful. I had a clam roll...fried clam sandwich. The clams were fresh and breaded which is astounding. It was good...i think i woukd have liked it better with some slaw or something else besides tartar sauce on the roll. I split spiral fries w my dining companion. They were very good. I personally really like fresh potato dropped in clean oil and fried. No bizarre science starch etc on them to keep them crispier longer.....South Sides spiral fries scratch that itch perfectly. My wife had their 21 dollar crabcakes...she stated they were good...but not worth the price. They have Green River! ( I had 2) and some really great looking homemade pies ( next time) Service was friendly, but slow....they could step up their game a bit. There were plenty of wait staff...it wasnt staffing levels that was the problem. They do a fair range of specials....there was turtle soup, meatloaf, and crabcakes when I visited.

Had a great experience Friday night. They were very busy. But well worth the wait. Our server Angela was very friendly. The food was amazing and the pies were out of this world! We loved the Italian and Philly cheese! 10/10 chance we'll be going back if we are in town! The cream pie was life changing! I refused to share. Devoured it too fast to get a picture, but highhhhly recommend trying. If Guy approves.. I mean come on.

It was a pretty cool stop on our trip I got the green river soda and it was pretty good it was made from a 1940s soada machine! They also have really long curly fries and a huge desert menu! There's a sink from the 1930s in the bathroom that's a really cool little piece of history. The staff was nice as well.

    Delish! Delish I say!

After seeing this place featured on Triple D, I stopped in en route to Michigan awhile back. I was greeted warmly by a server and immediately I could not wait to dive into their chili. Well it did not disappoint as it was very hearty and tasty! I think I also ordered a burger as well but who knows!?? What I do know is my experience here was great and I loved the cozy atmosphere indeed! Plenty of parking here but just keep an eye on their hours of operation!

Cherry phosphate, strawberry shake, #8 cheeseburger and curly fries!

Checked this off my bucket list today! I have wanted to go here for more than 50 years. You have to love the old soda shop ambiance. The strawberry shake was so thick it wouldn't fit thru the straw and it was delicious! I had a cherry phosphate that was wonderful. We both ordered the #8 cheeseburger on the grilled New England English muffin. They were yummo!! We shared the curly fries ordered with a side of cheese. They were hot out of the fryer, very thin and very good. No room for dessert! Their pie selection is enormous. All of the plates of food that i saw, looked yummy! I see philly cheesesteak sandwiches, #8, chili, pies and tons of ice cream in out future!

Love it! Great gem tucked in a residential neighborhood with street parking. Once you inside overlook the aging decor, if your that person... that part of the diner dive charm. Most importantly they have pies, lots of pies! Homemade pie that smells amazing, tastes equally amazing and my favorite was an option, this could be the best piece of pie ever with a warm golden flaky crust filled with more rhubarb than strawberries......Hallelujah!!! They make the chicken salad and it was full of celery and lots of shredded white chicken served with a field green salad and some Derby dressing. This was filling and delicious but always save a pie hole .... Meaning you better save a hole in your belly for pie, you won't be disappointed. REALLY GOOD SPOT TO GET YOUR PIE FIX!!!

Started with a cup of chili served in a mug. Flavorful and mild with big chucks of meat and veggies. I had the cheesesteak hoagie and it was awesome alongside the shoestring fries. It came with both jalapeños and banana peppers to load on if you want and a small serving of coleslaw. Meal was reasonably priced. Only downside is I believe the air conditioning was not working for a hot summer day. Will be back.

The soda shop is a Goshen classic. No matter what you order it'll be good! And don't forget to save room for dessert!

While waiting to be seated there was a bunch of stuff to look at like the little shops and bakery, so it didn't even feel like a wait. I tried the buffet and my favorites were definitely the chicken and roast beef. Both were super good and tasted homemade. The whole place just has a really cozy vibe and everyone was really friendly. I can see why people around here love this place!

The non-buffet restaurant was crowded, so we took a seat at the counter. The server was busy managing multiple tables along with the counter, and seldom came by to check on us. She would also forget requests and fail to bring things we requested until we asked twice. I ordered the Dutchman Burger and immediately experienced buyer's regret. The burger tasted off--like it was a day away from his expiration date. The initial taste each bite was okay, but always end with a gamey, off-putting taste. We will definitely be visiting Shipshewana again and will each at DDE. However, I won't get that burger again and hope we don't come at a time when the servers are overworked and distracted.
