Where have you been all my life? It's been a while since we wanted to try out La Pequena Columbia and not disappointed. Service is quick, so be ready ... not like us newbies. Clearly there are regulars who know what the un want. Ambiance in the main dining room is bright led lights with a bar area selling desserts, etc. We didn't check out the back rooms but definitely a lively place with tv screens, etc. We sat in the booth by the front door area. Churrasco Argentina was the best with rice, plantains and those potatoes. Yum! Tablasco was good but the tostones were cold and dry. Cold Aguila and Club Columbia beer washed it all down. Definitely come back to eat through the menu. Enjoy!

Absolute love coming to this place. It has the best Sancocho, which is not pictured here because I took it to go fast service friendly clean establishment every time I get off the plane first place I go here.

This is a fantastic spot for brunch! The waiter was super helpful with explaining what a lot of dishes were. As well they have a Spanish latte that tasted so good. It wasn't too sweet and hand a hint of orange that I didn't expect to like but it complemented the latte perfectly. My husband ordered a bowl that came with rice, chicken, avocado, beans and salad. Plus plantains. I ordered a plate that had scrambled eggs with tomatoes in it, with rice and beans and a corn flat bread (Arepa) that you could order either with cheese or sweet. It also came with a sausage. The rice and beans were so delicious . The ambiance was also super cute, we sat at the back where they had chickens walking around and they had a section for kids.

There is nothing not to love about this place. I forget to check in regularly lol because I start eating lol. The service is spectacular. The food full flavored and delicious and it's a family friendly spot, but like everywhere in the Tampa area, you want to be aware of your surroundings. Plenty of cameras make this place feel safe. We love it and the bakery counter usually costs us an every $20-30, but it's amazing.

Food was fantastic, very friendly staff, casual dining atmosphere. The place was hopping on a Saturday. Didn't have to wait too long to be seated, but the food took a little longer than expected. It was busy tho. Great place!

    $38 Argentino Paisa Churrasco

My first time ever going to a Colombian restaurant. It seemed awfully similar to Mexican cuisine. I had no idea what I was walking into and when I opened the door for the restaurant I looked left and saw a bar, straight ahead I saw a bakery, and to the right I saw dance club balls flashing light and massive TV screens. Of course soccer was on tv. First up were $6 beef empanadas. I thought they were pretty good. Certainly not as good as Empamama at Armature Works, but certainly above average. Up next I ordered a $38 Argentino Paisa Churrasco. It had a steak, brown beans, avocado, rice, an egg, pork, plantains, and a sausage. The steak was actually alright. There was a smokey/grill taste to the meat which I like. The sausage tasted weird. The pork stuff was inedible. I don't like white rice anywhere. And the beans were ok. For dessert I tried $1.75 Cocadas. It tasted like an almond joy minus the almond and minus the chocolate. Overall, I really enjoyed the coconut taste. Trying to get anyone here to explain menu items to non-Spanish speakers was difficult. They would mostly just repeat the name of the item which means I have no clue what it is. I think this would be a cool spot to get beers and watch soccer.

    Tamales con Arroz Blanco

Most of my visits were in the distant past when they were open for breakfast and closed later than they do now. A very busy place that was always packed and they opened a location nearby selling a different menu of items. In the past, service and management was arrogant and some of the servers bordered on moronic. My son who is grown now, had his most horrible and distasteful birthday meal at this location. I will not go into detail but service and food was atrocious that day. They were so busy that they did not have to care about the customer. Oh, how the mighty have fallen! I finally returned after that fateful day at the insistance of a friend who was homesick for Tamales which they make. The place was empty at noon on Thursday to my surprise. Workers waiting by the door with effusive greetings as we entered. A completely different vibe from years ago. The service and management had changed drastically, very friendly, very attentive and helpful. I guess you become nicer when customers stop coming. My friend ordered Tamales and I had the Arroz con Camarones, an old favorite of mine. The food has always been mostly good and it was very good on this visit. My rice was very flavorful and chock full of succulent shrimp. I felt like it was an entirely different experience. I did not try any this visit but they do have some wonderful pastries and desserts that are a must. Hopefully the new trend of being humble and nice will bring the customers back eventually. There are many wonderful dishes to choose from, a nice location and a small bar. I feel like I can approve of this place once again.

Came in during lunch and the place wasn't busy at all. They have booth, table and bar seating. They even have a bakery area so that you can get your sweets before leaving. Which btw I'd recommend getting the chocolate chip cookie! We were with a group, 5 people and service was good. Orders were out in no time. You do get ALOT of food! 3 of us had to get boxes to take our food to go. I had the Arroz con pollo which came with plantains, salad and beans. The beans were quite tasty and even better when poured over the rice and chicken. The chicken was shredded in the rice. Overall good experience and good food.

Came for dinner and it was only 5:00 pm and almost packed. It smelled so good entering and I knew why it was so crowded. Didn't take too long to be seated and order our food. The service was pretty quick and friendly. I ordered tostones gratinados and it was delicious. My family loved their order too. The price was average. Definitely would recommend & return.

The wait staff were very friendly, Mark my waiter, has worked here for over 20 year! Speaks volumes about how they run this place! The service was chill, and the food was 1000% full of delicious flavor. I tried their classic famous salad, the seafood paella, and the flan! Absolutely hit the spot!! Visiting here on a Sunday evening was a totally different experience! It felt less like dining out and more like sharing a family meal in a much-loved, historic home. As the oldest restaurant in Florida and the largest Spanish restaurant in the world, we felt it was a must-visit to experience its rich history and unique atmosphere. We also reserved seats for the Flamenco dance show, which had a $10 cover charge per person. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful and enormous, with so many different dining rooms. You could probably get lost trying to find your friends inside, just kidding! We were lucky enough to get a table near the stage, so we could enjoy the Flamenco performance while having dinner. For our meal, we started with the Caldo Gallego "Giant Soup" ($10), which was hearty, flavorful, and incredibly comforting. We also ordered Columbia's Original "1905" Salad ($18). Made with crisp iceberg lettuce, julienned baked ham, natural Swiss cheese, tomatoes, olives, grated Romano cheese, Lea & Perrins® Worcestershire sauce, and their famous garlic dressing, it was fresh, light, and absolutely delicious. Our main dish was the Mojito Chicken ($25). The chicken was very flavorful, especially with its delicious citrus-garlic sauce. Although the chicken itself was just a little on the dry side in my opinion, the flavorful sauce made up for it, and the dish was still very enjoyable. We also had the Paella "a la Valenciana" ($40), which was loaded with clams, mussels, shrimp, scallops, calamari, chicken, and pork, along with green peppers, Spanish onions, ripe tomatoes, garlic, and a splash of white wine. It was a generous portion packed with fresh seafood and rich Spanish flavors. The New York Strip Sirloin "The Bambino" ($53) was another excellent choice. The 14 oz. USDA Choice wet-aged boneless strip steak was tender, juicy, and cooked perfectly. To finish our meal, we ordered the Flan ($8). It was smooth, creamy, and absolutely delicious, a perfect ending to a wonderful dinner. The Flamenco dance show was fantastic! The dancers were energetic and passionate, making the entire dining experience even more lively and memorable. Combined with the excellent service, it made for a truly enjoyable evening. Overall, Columbia Restaurant is much more than just a place to eat, it's a historic landmark and an unforgettable dining experience. Between the beautiful Spanish architecture, rich history, delicious food, outstanding service, and exciting Flamenco performance, it's definitely worth visiting when you're in Ybor City.

It's in a stand alone building, right next to a large apartment complex. The turn is very easy to miss on your first visit, even with GPS. But once you've been there, you'll never miss it again. Your tastebuds will lead you home. When I got there, early on a Thursday morning, the place was humming. There are no tables or booths-it's take out only... and people were whizzing in-then whizzing out with big boxes or bags. That was a very good sign. But soon, I didn't notice the other people (cue the music montage)... I was mesmerized-transfixed, even... by all the goodies. Everything from delicate coconut pastries to corn casserole to fruit tarts/tortes, to chicken empanadas, to fancy cakes to big, puffy/fluffy cheese loaves... all beautifully displayed and labeled. It was a feast for the senses. I couldn't stop taking photos! I also couldn't decide what to get, but finally blurted out something about the corn casserole and quickly added the coconut cocada and pan bolo (guava). I am happy to report that everything tasted as good as it looked. As the 80s ballad declared: "the search is over"... I have found my favorite bakery, I love that it has both sweet and savory items. I will be back again and again. But not just for the food. It's the service! The woman helping me was absolutely delightful. She was warm and friendly and helpful and full of good suggestions. She was sunshine. That's something you can't put in a display case or add to a recipe.. Ricopan, you're a star! I'll be back! P.s. private parking lot-fair prices-very clean and they also sell coffee-maybe other drinks, too.
