This is the second time I've written a review for Happy fish. We have been here several times now and it is absolutely delicious! We had One of their ceviches and also delicious chicken and vegetable soup which was very flavorful. This time we tried dessert and it was sweet potato and pumpkin fried donuts with a delicious fruit sauce. Don't let the looks out front. Deceive you. You walk in and the ambiance is just lovely. This restaurant was a pretty nice one to check out. Their octopus appetizer was to die for well seasoned and the potatoes were a great touch. I really enjoyed the food they had however the main dishes weren't as flavorful as this appetizer. The service was very nice. They're super friendly, but it does take a little bit of time. I came here with a group of friends and overall we liked it. The restaurant is located in a big plaza with many parking spots. Once arrived we were seated and the waitress immediately took our order. However, after that he didn't check on us again. We tried ceviche mixto and pescado a lo macho. The size of the portion of ceviche was way smaller than the portions I have tried in other places, and the price was more expensive. The taste was fine. The pescado a la macho was OK. The calamari was very soft, but the sauce lacked of flavor a bit. My friends also ordered tacu tacu woth lomo, pollo saltado, and olluco. The empanados were very good, the Chebiche was good but not great; seemed a little too much lime for our taste. The churrasco was excellent, likely BOOM good!! Oh, also we had a carafe of sangria and it was delicious. Ended up with a cup of (good) coffee too. Overall we did enjoyed the place and will definitely come back. The prices seem a tad higher than one would expect; our bill totaling $104, plus tax and tip. You do that math. The manager, we think, came to our table and asked how everything was, which seemed sincere and was nice. Oh, don't judge the place by the rest of the outside "plaza". I firmly believe the places where the service barely speaks English are the absolute best. But I believe everyone understands good food and we had no probllamas. We got the Tostones Acevichados $12 to start and loved them, crunchy on the outside and fresh tart ceviche. We thought they were a bit small for the price but we were glad when the Lomo Saltado $18 came. We ordered chicha morada, which was absolutely delicious! The French fries were really good too, my son loves to eat them. The lomo Saltado was missing flavor and the rice was a little too hard. My husband mentioned that his bistec was very hard to chew and too raw, he left half of it on the plate. Maybe it was the time of the day but we were a little disappointed with the food, because this restaurant gets good reviews especially the food.
