I took my granddaughters here for a mani/ pedi. The oldest had Prom the next evening. After pre checking wait time and being very specific about having to be done by a certain time in order for my granddaughter to make it to basketball practice on time. The nail tech got up in the middle of doing her nails & said she had to leave to attend her son's soccer game. I mean she literally just stopped and left. I understand having to balance work & family. However, she should never have started the process knowing she would not have time to finish the job. I'm very happy with the service I got at La Perla. I came in with a specific design I wanted, and they had so many color options, I basically matched it perfectly. I was a walk in on a Saturday morning, and I waited about 20 minutes to be seated. The nail tech who did my nails worked quickly but efficiently! In total, my manicure took about 35-40 minutes for 5 different dip colors with tip extensions and shaping. I've posted a picture of my nails right after they were done and after 3 weeks of growth, and even after 3 weeks, my nails were strong and still looked great (just obviously grown out). I'm 4 weeks out currently and they still aren't chipping, but I did file them down because they got too long. As a stripper, it's always really extremely offputting to me when I come in with a set of nails, a certain length, and the nail tech takes it upon themselves to make me look instead like a kindergarten teacher. I did not come in with 3 inch nails because I haven't had a fill in two months and I need you to cut off two months worth of a nail. Like who tf does that?! When you tell someone you want a little taken off your hair length does that mean over half ??? So why tf does a little bit in a nail salon mean cut every single bit of length I have off? I'm from az and I've yet to find a half way decent salon in this town. My nails look like complete shit, the product is complete shit and my nails are literally disintegrating in the car and I left 10 minute ago. If I could give zero stars and not had to pay I feel be better about my experience. After getting my nails done at some other establishments, I noticed something that was lacking at La Perla that I think others should take note of. When I went to La Perla for a pedicure, I noticed that they do not use disposable plastic liners in their pedicure spas. At the time, I thought this was odd, but like I said, now that I have had more pedicure experience, I'm put off by this. I've noticed that other places definitely use these. And from what I've read online about this since then, these can make pedicure spas much more sanitary, considering these foot tubs can collect bacteria otherwise. I have been regularly going to La Perla Nails for going on 5 years now and it is honestly the only salon I will go to! The owner and staff are always extremely friendly. The nail techs seem to be very up to date on current nail styles/trends and always know exactly what I want. They make it a point to get to know their clients and always remember my name and ask how my daughter is doing, which makes me feel like this place is a second home. They offer plenty of different services, I usually get the dip nails and they never disappoint. Their pedicures are also heavenly. They always make sure to take their time with their clients as far as not skipping any steps, always making me feel pampered and never rushed. I had heard great things about La Perla, so I wanted to give it a try. While I was initially impressed with the results, after just three days I do not think I will return there. I went on a Saturday in the middle of the day and while I expected it to be packed, I was helped right away. The lady that did my nails was very thorough and constantly asked if I liked them, but was always giving me and my nails disapproving looks. I got matte black dip nails with a tip, and it took them two hours to do. Maybe that's my fault for getting something special, but I wasn't thrilled that I was there that long. After drying my nails, there was little white specks in the polish, which I wasn't okay with but left anyways because I didn't want to be there any longer. I didn't think it affected the overall look of the nails so I was okay with them. However, for $50, I did not feel like they were worth that price. No more than three days later, 3 of my nails broke. I would have gone back to get them redone but I was out of town. I ended up taking the rest off because they began to crack too. I was very disappointed considering how much I paid for them. I used to love getting my nails done at this location! Last month, I called and made an appointment for my birthday to get a mani and pedi. They told me they were slow and did not need my name for a reservation and to come in at 3:30 PM. I verified that they did not need my name, on a Saturday, came in at 3:20 and waited until 4:40. They said it would be another 20 minutes and reiterated that it was a Saturday and busy. I told them I called earlier and I was told by one of the employees that they did not need to take my name down because they were so slow. I ended up leaving because it was close to five o'clock and had dinner reservations for my birthday. I tried them again last Sunday and met a friend. She sat there for over an hour and heard the phone ring a million times and no one their tried to answer any of the incoming calls. They also have called ID and can tell if someone is repeatedly calling to get in. I had an appointment at 6:30. I arrived early and ended up leaving again because it was past 7, their closing time, plus they had two people before me still waiting to get their nails done. I used to love coming to this place. They were always on time and professional. Now it is completely chaotic and if you have an appointment it doesn't matter. You will still be waiting for hours. My absolute favorite place in Louisville to get my nails done! It is so clean and professional, always well staffed too. The wait is never long (even at 5:00 on weekdays and on the weekends). Their owner (I'm assuming but she may just be a manager) is always there and she is constantly checking in to make sure you're happy- she's awesome! Very service I've ever had done here has been exceptional. I've had regular mani/pedis, toe nail polish changes, gel manicures, acrylics, and dip nails. I currently get the dip for my nails and La Perla is the best dip I've EVER received. Perfect every time. These ladies won't let you leave until they know your nails are up to their high standards and exactly how you'd like them. Everyone was so nice!! I get my nails done maybe twice a year for events so I was very out of my element. I got my nails done a week before my prom and was going in for a gel manicure. My technician was so informative and showed me that dip powder would be my best option because it holds up longer. She also ended up waxing my eyebrows and I was really scared because I'd never had them done before. She was so sweet the whole time and my eyebrows look amazing! She really just shaped them and plucked some stragglers shapin and it made a huge difference. The salon is kept clean and organized. I've been in search of a new nail place and tried La Perla based on reviews and proximity to my house. I went around 3 pm on a weekday and they weren't busy at all. I wanted a dip powder manicure. The staff was friendly and I was seated right away. The technician shaped my nail but I had to ask for her to push back and trim the cuticle. This is customary in every other manicure I've received so I'm not sure why I had to ask. Even then she didn't trim the cuticle all the way around so it still look a little unkept. The technician was quick. I was in and out under an hour. The dip powder was put on a little thick and I'm not a fan of that. It makes it hard to use your nails in practical ways such as scratching or picking up small things. They're a bit cumbersome when they're too thick. The prices were reasonable - a little cheaper than other places in town. The space was nice - pretty decorations and comfortable chairs. All in all this place is fine. It's just probably not the place for me. But my manicure stayed nice for three weeks. And they told me if anything happened to it within two weeks of getting it done then they would fix it for free - which is great customer service. read more

My nails look absolutely horrible. When asking them to fix it they just kept getting worse. I got dip on my fingers and she was finished in 13 minutes. I have only been here once, but I will be going back. I get manicures pretty infrequently but enjoy them once in a while. I always opt for gel polish as it lasts longer. The problem is that normally while I hope for it to last a solid 2 weeks...it starts chipping and/or peeling way sooner. This salon has somehow changed that streak for me. I had perfect nails for 3 weeks! Of course, my nails were growing out but I had zero chipped or peeling finger nails. Yay to that! I did have to wait for a really long time. They were packed. I think the staff handled it as well as they could though, and apologized for my wait once I did get situated for my manicure. Living in the highlands, I have always driven by LA PERLA NAIL SALON & SPA and admired the newly renovated building with all new equipment and massage chairs. So!!!!~ finally!!! A day before my trip to Cabo, I called and made an appt for my bf and myself to get a mani-pedi and am Soo sooo SOOOO glad we came here instead of another salon in the highlands. From the service on the phone, upon walk-in, and throughout my nail experience during my mani-pedi were all so pleasant and above par, I'm sure I'll be here very soon. There were a few variations from the basic pedicure with the prices only being a slight difference, but today, time only allotted me the "spa" package which included a warm/hot foot soak, multiple foot massages that ranged from kneading to acupressure points, numerous applications of lotion to hydrate my dry and needy legs and feet, and then a hot towel wrap. Phinix really took his time to make me comfortable and enjoy my ultimate spa experience for my little feet. It's been a few months now since I started going to La Perla Nails as my primary nail salon. I come like clockwork, every two to three weeks. I get my nails done and a pedicure. While my pedicure has been by different technicians, it's always great. They don't rush the service and the massage chairs are a small piece of heaven. As it regards my nails, I've been going to the same tech... Lin. She does exactly what I ask on my nails whether its a random design or something I've seen somewhere. She also has great ideas for colors and what ideas/sparkle works with which design, color scheme etc. My fills are always immaculate and I know they'll last until my return. As far as the salon itself goes, this place is gorgeous. The staff is always attentive - offering chocolate, cookies, water, etc. There's always upbeat music playing and they take reservations for large parties or special occasions too. I'm one of those girls who prides herself on my feet and nails looking great always. It's the Florida, sandal wearing, mentality in me. La Perla Nails makes me proud to show my hands and feet. I asked for squared. I got oval shaped on about half. I am so not that person to complaint but I will never got back to this salon or recommend it. I try to make it a priority to only do "self-care" once my son goes to sleep, but that's hard when nail salons close early! Enter La Perla...the only nail salon close to my house that's open til 8. Perfect for me to get a manicure or pedicure in AFTER baby goes to bed! Prices are pretty standard here. About what you'd pay anywhere else in the area. I've now been three times and have had perfect service each time. I usually go for a pedicure but opted for a dip manicure on an early Friday afternoon this week. No one else in this shop is great and unfortunately Ni stays overbooked and leaves in the middle of her sets. They usually leave the unlicensed tech there to finish sets. Last time she did this and something was wrong with my nails the owner became irritable with me for pointing it out how poorly done my nails were. I came home and my husband noticed my nails and told me that they were turning upwards and he said they were called ski slope nails , I never knew there was such a thing. I went in today to hage my nails done and I got a simple pedicure and a manicure. Now I told them to put gel polish on me because I thought that was just a regular option they acted like it was something big. I got an acrylic tip dip set done here, they all fell off after just 4 days. I've had this done multiple times at other salons and it lasted on average 2-3 weeks! This is becoming my new go-to place for pedicures. They have off street parking out back, nice and clean facilities, and have been able to take me quickly without an appointment on each visit. Can't ask for much more! The speed is very appreciated now that I have a baby and can't get away for very long. They offer gel and dip, though I tend to just go for regular since my nails grow super fast. I also appreciate that they have a line to tip on credit card receipts. I was desperate for a pedicure and wanted to find somewhere in the Highlands. After trying a few places on Bardstown Road, I just about gave up my search for a good place to my my nails done. I stumbled upon La Perla after waiting FOREVER in a local nail salon down the road and I am so glad that I did. Agnessa did my spa pedicure and she was awesome. My biggest pet peeve with a pedicure is when they spend little to no time scrubbing my feet. Agnessa took her time and made sure that I was satisfied with her work before moving on to the next thing. I felt valued, taken care of as a customer and they weren't trying to push me out of the chair to serve the next customer. She spent time massaging my feet/legs and I literally almost fell asleep in the chair. The prices were decent and lower in comparison to neighboring competition. My only tip is to be careful pulling in and out of the parking lot as it's a small space and one way, which just about got me killed when I pulled into the parking lot. This place is Amazing! I took my mom for a much needed pedicure & they are soo friendly & welcoming. Lyn took care of me & I swear my legs ended up feeling like noodles after she was done :) Agnessa took care of my mom and she was falling a sleep of how relaxed she was. I had been wanting to try La Perla for a long time now and recently checked it out. I walked in on a Sunday without an appointment. Appointments are recommended but I never have time to plan out a pedicure. It's a spur of the moment type of thing for me and that's not going to change anytime soon. La Perla is fairly small but inviting. They have nice massage chairs for pedicures and provide bottled water. Everything seemed clean. There was a bit of confusion when I walked in. I'm not sure who was in charge or thought they were in charge but I was seated in a pedicure chair and started soaking my feet and then had to move to get my gel manicure done first. It wasn't a big deal but the confusion didn't create a peaceful atmosphere. The person who was apparently in charge tried to explain to me that they were super busy (even though they didn't seem that busy) and that she had to switch things up to take care of everyone. I totally understand that, but I wish they were able to figure out where to put people without having it be a commotion. Also, if they are too busy for a walk-in, they should just say so. Love this place! We came here the first time because it's one of the only nail places that has good afternoon Sunday hours. Their OPI color options are better than average. I go now at least once a month. They provide mini water bottles, and chocolates. Their massage chairs are legit and staff is always friendly. Update: 4/1/2017 So we've been coming to this place for a couple of years now and the speed to service has always been really good, brought an out of town friend 2 weeks ago and we waited for quite some time; today we made appointments a day in advance and waited over 45 minutes to get served. It was awkward as this woman demeaned her employee and laughed at her for not understanding English. Wow! I was pleasantly surprised to find La Perla as I drove down Bardstown Road. I walked in without an appointment and was told to be patient, but I was happily dipping my toes into a pedi spa bath with 10 minutes of my arrival.
