The other gentleman proceeded to ask what else I'm going to do and where I was going I told him I'm going to the La Brisas, he said give my place a try to get a margarita thrown in and if you don't like it you pay nothing. 2 1/2 days and three lobster dinners later I'm still shocked. we ordered the shrimp cocktail and had one at another place his was better the shrimp was unbelievable it had flavor it didn't taste like it was cooked in water. The Lobster's were very flavorful and abundant. The cost for two lobsters all the fixings was $26 this is a day before Halloween 2020 for my wife's birthday. Too many gringo reviewers don't know where the hell they ate. There are about 30 lobster places in Puerto Nuevo. Some of the reviews for La Perlita are so wrong. One said their carne asada sucked - probably because they do not serve carne asada - this person didn't bother to get the name of place correct. Another couple of gems raised a complaint because some guy on the street told them they could get 2 lobsters for $20. La Perlita doesn't use hawkers in the street to hustle people - they never have. The places who do that are the places that sell illegally small lobsters to greedy tourists. One review complained that La Perlita had a lousy rooftop oceanview - their building doesn't have a rooftop area for anything. My family, my friends and I have been coming to La Perlita for almost 50 years. It is one of the few places where you get an honest (and legal) lobster. They bring the live lobsters to your table for you to choose. The same family has been running this place since they opened and expanded throughout the years. No hype, no bait 'n switch like at the ripoff joints on the next two blocks closer to the ocean. Looking for a quality meal? La Perlita. Not to certain what and where to begin. As we drove in to Puerto Nuevo we were stopped and offered a 3 small lobster deal for $25. We were on our way to our normal spot but said ok. We got to this restaurant that was nice but completely empty. They brought the lobsters in order to give us the prices. Still giving it a chance ordered a margarita (some sort of syrup and 7 up) and a coffee (pretty bad). They also supplied us with stale chips, no thanks. I HATE BEING RIPPED OFF! The nice gentlemen who helps you park your car in front of here told me and my friends to come to Perlita for $20 you get 2 lobsters, margarita, soup, beans and salsa and chips. With a ocean view at the top. When we went inside, the worker immediately said no ocean view dining and that it is closed. First Red Flag! When the server brought our fresh lobsters to show our table he was automatically saying $30-$40 depending on which size we choose. I asked about the $20 lobster and he said they do not have. SECOND Red Flag! Everytime I tried to tell him that the guy outside said something different he would just shake his head and say no. I wanted to leave but my group was just hungry and was okay with $30. Every person I spoke with who has been to Puerto Nuevo and speaks spanish told me they ripped us off. This is my first time trying out this place and it was delicious. I had the shrimp a la diabla and it was one of the most delicious meals I have eaten in a long time. The shrimp came with a really good and spicy sauce. The rice & beans were just perfect (finally a spot that gets this easy to do staple right). The freshly fried chips and salsa dip are a plus. Let's not forget the hand made tortillas which completed this delicious meal. Unfortunately I had eaten too much the night before that it only took this dish to get us full. We did not get to try the lobster. But this will be a spot that I have come back again because it was that damn good. Quite disappointed with everything, food and service. The lil candy booth on the corner recommended it and after I was seated the candy store people walked in about 7 others into the restaurant. My family and I have been coming here for years! We absolutely love it. I crave their food quite often. I always get the order of three lobster tails. It comes with rice, beans, tortillas, salad, and a free margarita. Before the food comes out, you are served fried chips which are nice and crispy. They're great with lime and salt. Then you are served lobster bisque. The bisque has chunks of lobster which is to die for. Every time we come the restaurant is empty. Which is cool since we're basically the only ones there. And we don't have to wait in line. But it also worries me. Each time we go, I'm scared they went out of business. Next time you're in Puerto Nuevo, give this place a shot. It's worth it! read more

We had the lobster meal for two. The waitress brought out the different size lobsters for us to chose from. We started off with a delicious lobster soup. First time having it and it was very tasty. Did not taste "fishy". Then came the three little lobsters with a side of rice and beans and handmade flour tortillas. The lobsters were fresh. The Lobster was good the Carne Asada suck..The reason I would NEVER come back here again is because they try to rip my family and I off with the Lobster prices at the end. A man they had on the street got us in this place because he said you could get lobsters 2 for $25 or 2 for $28 sounded like a sweet deal. Later on in the Restaurant a waiter (younger male i think his name was Danny) presented the Lobster and he stated you could get the largest lobster for 2 Lobsters for $28 however at the end of the meal and when we seen are bill for about $290 that is when we found out that he had charge us $28 PER LOBSTER which isn't what he told us at first. The waiter try to say he told us $28 per lobster Guess what buddy you didnt get us that drunk to believe that BS..We didn't pay him that amount rather we paid the 2 for $28 the waiter didn't like that But whatever they try to burn me and my family..After we left the restaurant we seen the guy that lured us in and we told him how the waiter try to change the price and deal on us at the end then the young waiter came out and the guy from the street told him "see now they aren't gonna come back" and then the waiter said "Good I don't want them too." Lobster was delicious. Liked the soup. They brought live lobsters to the table and we were asked which size we wanted ? It seemed like the ones we got were a little smaller. But they do shrink so who knows. I will say that the lobsters were moister and not overcooked at all - something that happens a lot around here. So best job on that. The ambiance was ok - not a view spot. Very clean - but giant first floor dining room filled with 80's style chairs and glass tables. We were the only one's dining. Ordered the middle size lobster special. 5 halves, soup, beans, rice, salsa, tortillas for $22. I'd say they were maybe alb lobsters. We also ordered the shrimp Diabolo. Great sauce but the shrimp were small and cold. That was weird. But the sauce was great. Would have preferred hotter shrimp. That was $12. After tip and 4 beers, out total was around $50. Not bad, but I think I prefer Popotla in general. I will keep trying different Puerto Nuevo spots before I pick a favorite. read more
