It's pretty inside to be sure. I was very looking forward to dining here as my family has been coming here for generations. Unfortunately the prices were a straight up rip off. They offered us a half of a lobster tail for $45 usd. When pressed they brought out the lobster which was tiny. We drank our also over priced wine and left. Around the corner we had a meal fit for kings and more lobster than we could eat for $25 per person. Maybe this is why the restaurant was empty.

Such a cute and clean place. Service was exceptional and they readily took our party of 7 for for a bachelorette party @8:15 even though they closed at 8:45pm on a Thursday. They were so accommodating and they didn't rush us out. Prices were good and the food was fresh. My friends loved the lobster and aguachiles. I had the shrimp soup and quesadillas con aguacate. Man! Mexican tortillas just hit different!

Awesome seafood restaurant! We come here all the time and everything is delicious! Lobster, scallops, ceviche appetizers, all Doesn't have an ocean view but the decor is pretty and has a cool vibe.

If you happen to visit Tijuana or Ensenada, do yourself a favor to stop by Puerto Nuevo for some amazing lobsters! And Sandra's is a great place for that! We got the Snail Salad, the Scallop Aguachile with green sauce and a Medium Lobster. The Salad has a special flavor of lime, tomato, onion and a nice touch of blue cheese, and the snail had a beautiful texture! The Aguachile was of a huge portion, with a lot of very fresh scallops! The Lobster was very flavorful and the meat was tender and juicy. We loved the deep fry style to prepare it! I'd say this is one of the best quality seafood meal in a while at a very good price! You might run into performances by a Mariachi band too:) Love the meal!

Absolutely the best customer service and amazing food! This is a must place! Been coming around the area and finally decided to give it a try, I'll be coming to this place more frequently.

Half of our giant lobster

I hate to do it, but I need to update my review. We went back for another visit and took our nieces who have never tried lobster before. We had called weeks ahead of time to reserve a table and two large lobsters. Once we went to ordered we were told they didn't have two that size. Only one very large one and small ones. So we ordered the large one and a small one, for the nieces to split. When they brought them out, they both looked tiny. I guess there was a miscommunication and they made us two small ones. I understand the size is dependent on what they can get at any specific time. I also understand that there was some misunderstanding and we ended up with two little lobsters to split four ways. But, the reason I'm knocking down my rating by one star is that the size of the rice and beans they give you is really way too little. We ran out of rice and beans I guess because we had such a small amount of lobster. The meal was a disappointment sadly. The girls ate their lobster but they said they didn't really enjoy it. We had told them that it would be a big filling meal, but we all left kind of hungry and they ended up eating tacos at home afterwards. lol We'll be back but next time besides reserving lobsters ahead of time, we'll call that night to make sure they actually have them. I recommend you to do the same. The flavor of the big lobsters is much better than the small ones IMO. Also, I think if you want small lobsters you're maybe better off going to one of the less expensive places in PN, because they give you more sides and the flavor of the lobster is about the same. If this had been our first visit here (it was our fourth), we wouldn't go back and my rating would probably be two or three stars max.

My boyfriend and I found this place by miracle. We came two weeks ago for his birthday and based on reviews we saw here on yelp, we went to Villa Ortega's. We got there around 6pm and ordered lobster. Unfortunately, the taste was horrible. It was burnt lobster with no flavor. It tasted like it had been cooked for a while and they just warmed it up. This time we came for my birthday and we asked a local and he suggested this place. We were kind of hesitant, but decided to give it a try. Even though it's a small restaurant compare to the Ortega's, the food was delicious and the lobster was fresh. The restaurant is average size, but the service exceptional and it seems like a more fancy place. I highly recommend this place to anyone that's looking for a place with good food.

Very Clean, Great Customer Service, Great Meal - the Tortillas are a highlight; they are big and freshly made. Definitely this place is frequented by locals but we are glad that we came and we will definitely come back.

This lobster is around 4 lbs. So good, but also more expensive than the usual ones that are offered on the menu.

This was my second time visiting this restaurant, and I will never go to a different one if they continue this level of service and food quality. Yes, the prices are higher than others, but it's totally worth it. I called ahead of time to make a reservation and to request two big lobsters. They were very nice, even though I had to call and push back the reservation. My husband and I took my parents there for a great lobster dinner. They were super surprised with the food and size of the lobster, and both agreed that it was delicious. We will go back, because we found the best place to eat a good lobster!!! By the way, my hubby ordered a Margarita Cadillac....omg, it's amazing!!!

Excellent place for Puerto Nuevo-style lobster. Huge homemade flour tortillas. Sea snail (caracol) appetizer is also very good. No view.

This is the best lobster restaurant in Puerto Nuevo…read more The food is excellent. The lobster tastes fresh and is not overcooked. We ordered the large family tray, which feeds about 6 to 8 people. We also ordered additional lobsters to complement the platter, since it only comes with four lobsters cut in half. Their flour tortillas are some of the best. They are unlimited, along with rice and beans, and the servers keep them coming. The views are nice, and there is usually a parking attendant who helps you find parking nearby. The service is good, but be prepared to be pressured if you do not leave a generous tip. We left a 12% tip ($800 Pesos), which is standard in Mexico, and were still confronted. Keep in mind the standard daily wage in that area is around 300 pesos. The waiter told us we needed to leave 15 to 18 percent. We ended up leaving more only because the service was really good. Since I paid the bill and someone else in our group left the tip, they added more on top of what was already left. If it had been me, I would have taken the cash back and left NOTHING. This is way they get 4 stars and not 5! Tips are not obligatory. Servers receive wages, and they should be grateful for any additional gratuity guests choose to leave. Aside from that small incident, this is a great restaurant.

We notified them they did them again. Still same. Then we consumed about $8,000 pesos. We asked for boxes and they gave us 3. Then we asked for more because honestly we weren't going to eat the food. Then one lady told us we can't give you anymore. I told her charge us for the containers if you need to. I have came here previously because we were recommended and it has been good before. This will be the last time we will be here. I am a special needs mom and always look for options for my children. They should better their service and be more helpful. We just decided to put food in containers and to the people in the street. So it wont go to waste

I'm glad that it was a much better experience than what I expected. The restaurant is two stories high and has a beautiful view of the ocean. I also loved all the Mexican decor and how bright and spacious it was. The food was delicious!! The lobster was my favorite, really meaty and tasty! I ordered their special which comes with a fried fish, lobster, shrimp, beans, soup, salad, a margarita and freshly made flour tortillas! I couldn't believe the amount of food the special order had. We have been coming here for 25 years and we bring different friends and it has never let us down! So perfect! Highly Recommend! It is not the fanciest, it's a bit rustic but for the price and flavor we love it! Get the lobster special and it comes with a margarita, beans, rice, fresh flour tortillas, limes, drawn butter, and salsa. So delicious, traditional, and filling. The menu has other seafood and non seafood items. Sometimes a mariachi or a norteño banda will play. Tip: ask the singers how much they charge per song before you start requesting. Some charge between $10-$20 per song. It gets hot in the downstairs deck so bring a hat, sunglasses, and a coverup. They do have a tarp that covers partially. But you cannot beat the sun and the salt air! Service is always wonderful! Same staff has been there forever! Parking: When you pull up to the front they usually have a few spaces reserved for the restraint we always tip the parking guy. He watches to ensure your car is safe. They have indoor seating upstairs with a good view. But I like outside better! I wish I could give 4.5 stars because we love it but some upgrades are needed, some walls are insider construction. Clean restrooms.
