Our dog have white gum and weak and always sleep , we took her emergency hospital , they Can't do anything for help her , this hospital just only want us to euthanasia medication for her . We decide bring her back home . We call LA pet clinic for help her . Doctor Reina recommended us to do blood transfusions. After treatment she 's so healthy cheerful , Omg ! We 're very very happy . My current AMAZING vet is also named the same (DR. LIZ) - so I was never able to forget and always have to keep the two separate in my mind. If a vet can't take the proper time with a pet, they should not come. I should NEVER know anything about what a vet is next going to do. Instead, the information was repeatedly relayed through front desk staff and a manager, who simply restated an email without offering any real clarification. When I tried to ask follow-up questions, the responses felt rushed and dismissive rather than helpful. Let that sync in and check your attitude before making a call with an administrative title and an entitled tone. :) There was also confusion about pricing: I was originally told that my dog's nail clipping was complimentary, but when I called back to pay, I was told that wasn't true and given a price instead. As a devoted pet owner, clear and empathetic communication matters  - especially when discussing medical results and unfortunately that was missing here. That said, I do want to give five stars to one staff member who was warm, kind, and genuinely welcoming. Her professionalism and empathy did not go unnoticed. She's full of energy and has great vibes and speaking to her on the phone was clear and knew how to direct my questions - no back and forth and she had a really cool name. :)

The next morning, he walked a bit, and by Tuesday night his congestion had stopped. He finally started eating again, even if only a small amount, which was a great improvement. I also received a follow‑up call from another doctor, who explained that his lab results looked very good and showed no concerning issues. There was a dog yowling in the back for the entire hour that we were visiting during our first appointment - you can hear everything because there's just a little curtain that separates the back area from the lobby. The exam room has sliding doors but isn't fully enclosed so, again, you can hear everything. The vet, Dr Kwon, was very gruff and brief with our puppy. He quite literally waved us off when we tried asking questions about our treatment plan, and he didn't adequately review our pet's vaccination records in advance. Thankfully the vet tech remediated the situation and thoroughly explained our next steps, but if he hadn't been there the entire visit would have been a complete and frustrating waste. I'm glad we completed our puppy's core vaccines because we've now switched to a much kinder vet at a cleaner, nicer hospital at the same price point.

Honestly, I did not have high expectations for this vet. I do not know the area too well but by driving around, it doesn't look like an area I would be frequenting. I assumed the inside of this place would be like a run down county clinic deep in the trenches of Los Angeles. Which I've had my fair share of experiencing back in the days. I was so wrong! This place is so awesome. The girls at the front desk are so sweet and attentive! I had a lot of questions every visit, I never had a puppy before and I was really anxious about making sure she was healthy. They always answered everything very patiently and had the best attitude. Since I do not live close I would have to call over the phone for vaccination records to enroll my puppy into classes etc and I even changed her name and they'd always answer my calls and email over anything I needed. The customer service has been exceptional. I would come here simply for that alone. They decorated the office so nice, it looks newly remodeled. The waiting lobby is small but comfy. They do not push for any specific food brands which is refreshing. They always call to remind you of an appointment. The people and their dogs that I've seen here all are very friendly and it looks like everyone comes for routine and not because their dogs are sick. I love that! The prices are fair, they're not low by any means but they're not outrageous. I find them to be decent for the services. I really appreciate the care they provided for my girl, she was here quite a few times due to being a puppy. We now go to a place closer to home because I don't live in Los Angeles. It's honestly the only reason. But I highly recommend this place to anyone in LA looking for a good vet!

Recently brought one of our dogs here for a serious issue. We never even saw the doctor, only spoke to them through a phone call even though we were at the office. After speaking to the doctor, the assistant presented the estimate very matter of factly. We declined one of the procedures. 3 hours later when it was time to pay they tried to charge us for the declined service even though it clearly was written on the estimate that it was declined. The absolute worse part is that after coming home, our other dog developed the same symptoms as our dog we had brought in. We called them back and asked to speak to the doctor for counsel. They had no idea who the doctor was. Finally we were told the doctor would call us back. We never received a call and our other dog passed away that night. Obviously we were gutted and when we took our deceased dog in for afterlife care the next day, the receptionist just shoves the brochure at us and gives us prices. Not even a simple sorry or modicum of concern. They dont care about your pets. I write this because I dont want someone else to potentially feel the pain we feel for waiting for these folks to call you back and having something horrible happen.

We heard about the cardiology department at VCA West Los Angeles and brought her to see if they could help. They were able to give her heart surgery in November 2024 that gave her a new lease on life! Before the heart surgery we thought her time had come but after this surgery she felt much better and lived for another 14 months. The whole staff was very sweet to my little scruffy mutt. I will not lie, the surgery was expensive. But! we had two more Christmas holidays with our Bonnie and we just cut back on our expenses. We were fortunate to be able to do this. If you want excellent quality of care, this is The Best of The Best. /////////That being said, this year (2026) the cost of everything is going up. What I would suggest is that you shop around and think about what emergency care you would need/want should your fur baby get really sick. And figure out your budget. This is an excellent hospital but there are also some excellent vets out there who can take good care of your pet for less money. You have to decide if you're going to go with the Cadillac or maybe stick with the Ford F150. /////The great thing about this hospital is that they have the most advanced techniques, very professional staff and they are a teaching hospital as well, with students from Cal Poly Pomona. You will get very thorough care. But don't go expecting things to be cheap. Going to veterinary school costs as much as going to medical school. Some of these reviews show an astonishing lack of understanding just how expensive it is to do all these tests, etc when basically it's the same equipment you would use on a human. Also, know that you can have all the money in the world but just as with people, when your animal's time has come, it has come. Be realistic and respectful of the doctors and staff at the hospital. If you are a pain in the...neck-sorry, but no matter how sweet your little dog/cat is, no one will want to deal with you. That's just the world of reality.

I am heartbroken writing this…read more My dog Zip was my companion for 16 years -- my little shadow, my comfort, my family. She trusted me to protect her, and I trusted VCA to help me care for her. What happened instead has been devastating. Zip had known kidney disease, with a creatinine around 3 (Stage 3). Despite this, she was diagnosed with congestive heart failure without proper confirmation -- no echocardiogram was done. Based on that unverified diagnosis, she was treated with medications, including diuretics, that can put significant strain on the kidneys. Shortly after, she went into acute kidney failure. Instead of stabilizing her, her condition declined rapidly. I watched her weaken, knowing something wasn't right, but trusting the medical decisions being made. Her first hospitalization cost about $5,500. As things worsened, I had no choice but to continue care at ASEC (also part of VCA), where I spent another $35,000-$40,000 trying desperately to keep her alive with fluids and intensive support. Despite everything, she did not survive. I want to be fair -- Dr. Hare was kind and compassionate, and I am grateful for her humanity during a previous hospitalization. But my experience with the cardiology department was extremely disappointing, and at times felt careless. I also experienced a lack of basic compassion from management. Despite already leaving about a $4,000 deposit and having spent tens of thousands of dollars with VCA over the years, I was not allowed to briefly go home to retrieve my credit card to pay a remaining $1,600 balance. In a moment of crisis, that felt cold and inhumane. What haunts me most is that a simple echocardiogram could have confirmed -- or ruled out -- heart failure before exposing her to treatment that carried known risks for her kidneys. That step was only taken AFTER Zip was given the medication that put her in kidney failure. I trusted them with her life. Zip deserved careful, thoughtful medical decisions. She deserved a chance. Instead, I lost her -- and I will always wonder if things could have been different. She was my heart, my shadow, my world -- and a piece of me left with her.

My brother in law had recently moved to Canada, and his dog fell sick while still in the U.S. I was trying to figure out how to get the dog safely to Canada given his medical condition, and I called several clinics for guidance. Most places required an appointment just to answer basic questions, which made the situation even more stressful. Dr. Nassi was kind enough to explain that if we were driving the dog to Canada, we did not need a medical certificate, which meant we did not have to wait for an appointment or go through a lengthy certification process. The clinic also reviewed and validated the rabies certificate over email without charging us. As someone who does not own a dog and was trying to handle this on behalf of my brother in law, I was feeling very overwhelmed. Dr. Nassi really helped us understand the right path forward and made it possible for us to get the dog back to his owner. I am extremely thankful for the kindness and support we received. I highly recommend this clinic. The entire team, including the reception staff, was warm, patient, and very helpful.

Looking forward to working with the new vet (who's front desk answered the phone promptly and politely).
