My son attended La Petite for 2.5 years. My son is just about to turn 5 and my husband and I agree that it was the best decision we've made so far as parents. Not only are the teachers and staff great at teaching their curriculum, they've helped shape my son into a well rounded individual. From emotional drop offs to fun school activities, La Petite did it all. Ms. Kellie does a phenomenal job as director. She cares about each child and it shows. She feels like a family member to you and your child almost immediately. Ms. Carrie was one of my son's teachers before she became Assistant Director and she's excelled at both positions. She maintains structure while always making sure the kids are happy and having fun. My son grew and learned so much in the time he spent in her and Ms. Neves preschool class. The PreK teachers have a soft spot in my heart. Ms. Adriana and Ms. Denise work so well as a team. They compliment each other's teaching style and it works seamlessly. Ms. Adriana is fun and creative, always making sure the kids are enjoying what they're learning. Ms. Denise is a soft place for my son to land when drop offs are emotional. I will forever be grateful for the grace and kindness she showed not only to my son but to me as well. Ms. Barbie is also someone who helped tremendously with the transition at drop off. She makes every kid feel so special, my son would be so excited to see her when we walked into the school. Communication with the school is open and easy. They listen when you have questions or concerns. I never felt like I couldn't come to them no matter how big or small my question or concern was. This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the staff at La Petite on Clay. There's too many positives about this preschool/daycare. I've had my children at La Petite Academy since 2024, and while I had high hopes, I'm increasingly becoming disappointed. The staff-to-child ratio is clearly an issue, and my older child has faced repeated bullying and I'm not 100% confident the issue was brought to other parents attention since it is continuing . Now my 1-year-old has been bitten twice in just a 2 month timeframe . When I raised these serious concerns, the response from leadership was dismissive and unprofessional -- brushing it off with "kids will be kids" "they will grow out of it" . The director is quick to call out tuition in front of other parents but shows little involvement in ensuring a safe, supportive environment. I expected better -- both in safety and in care. Mind you I have 3 children (7)(5)(1) that attend this daycare. I'm leaving this review in hopes another parent won't have this experience. My son begs not to come back to this daycare. My daughters have been going here for a few months now and I'm so glad I picked this place for them! The infant/toddler staff is amazing from their communication with me to the way they treat they daughter. I can tell at drop off and pickup that she is so comfortable with all of them. They send pictures and videos through the app all through the day and I get to see how much fun the girls are having. My 3 year old loves her teachers and wakes up every morning excited to go to school. The director and assistant director are also great to work with and will help you with anything you need and make sure your needs are being met. My son has been at La Petite Acadamey for a year. He had started when he was 15 months and I was a bit nervous as he had been staying at home prior to that. But he adjusted well, and within the first few weeks he was happy to be playing with all his new friends, exploring different sections of his classroom, running around in the outdoor park section and participating in story time and the different arts and craft activities. We have had a good experience with the La Petite team, the teachers (like Ms. Samanta, Ms Isis and several others) have been very responsive and caring, posting several photos and updates on the app. During pickup and dropoff the teachers were knowledgeable about our sons day, and would share stories of what he had been upto (I would always look forward to hearing about it, and felt that our son was well cared for). The administrative staff have been professional (keeping us informed of any falls/ incidents promptly) and approachable. I was super apologetic and reassured them that I would not be late again. the blonde lady that works the front desk, spoke to me in a very unprofessional, rude manner in front of other parents I understand why she was upset but in no way shape or form should she have been talking to a 17-year-old parent like that let alone in front of other parents it was embarrassing and disrespectful. It is very challenging to trust your child with just anyone. I tried an in home nanny, visited home daycare places and a few other daycare centers before unequivocally deciding on this one. The Director, Ms. Kelly and Assistant Director, Ms. Aurora are very involved, and in my perception excellent Administrators, therefore the center is run on all cylinders. All of the Teachers that I have encountered and interacted with are kind and caring. My daughter's Teacher's, Ms. Amanda, Ms. Cassie, Ms. Maria and Ms. Aracely are intelligent leaders, they demonstrate patience and are very sweet with the children in their care. They all go above and beyond to answer any questions I may have upon drop off and pick up. I feel a great peace of mind when I receive text and picture updates, via the Brightwheel app. of my daughter's daily routine, activities, diaper changes, nap and meal times throughout the day. I also am able to message her Teacher's directly and receive prompt responses. The daycare center is bright, welcoming and clean. Late to the review, but oh well. We brought our daughter here when she was 2, she just turned 5. We did a walk through and met everyone. I vividly remember the director saying we "needed to bring our daughter here because she's so pretty." Being a relatively new mom I wasn't as grossed out by that as I am now. Every time I dropped her Orr and picked her up she SOBBED. She hated it. Further, they forced the children to nap with the lights on. Once I said something they told me it was the law. After a few more days I finally pulled her from the facility. When I did the final interview I asked them about the "lights on policy," and she said that it was CA law that all "licensed" care facilities leave the lights on for nap time. I showed her that wasn't true and she said I didn't know what I was talking about and too bad. I have since taken our daughter to the Jurupa Discovery Center and told them what had happened. They showed me the rules and regulations for the county and state. No where was a "lights on" rule. This place overall was terrible and it took a long time for our daughter to nap regularly again. Forcing littles to sleep with the lights on could be compared to prisoners being forced to leave lights on, it's terrible and would never wish this place on any one. read more

You don't know, till you know. Due to logistics and convenience we tried another day care out that was closer to my wife's work. Needless to say that was a major mistake. It made us come begging back to be reenrolled at La Petite. There's a few major reasons why 1. The staff truly care about our child 2. They are friendly, kind and compassionate 3. I've had my son at La Petite Academy Clay St since he was 1, of course I beyond scared and nervous the first week he attended but his reaction of not wanting to come home anymore left me at ease knowing my son was happy to be there and LOVED being there, 3 years later now both my son and daughter go there. I got to know most of the teachers on a personal level and they are beyond AMAZING, This work place is a family! They treat the kids as if they are their own! I love the connection the teachers build with you, they send updated through out the day on the app keeping me updated, when I drop off or pick up they communicate and conversate with me, I'm so glad my kids love being here and love the teachers!! My daughter has been attending since she was about 4 months old! Yep! I went back to work feeling at peace, Mrs Louis and Ms Cassie were always so sweet and just amazing!! My daughter is now in the 2's and she loves it, when she transitioned to the 2's it was a little hard but they really make sure the kiddo is ready to move before they do. I wish they could care for me too!! I have to say I made a great choice and can see how my daughter has learned so much! She can count to 10 and sings her ABC's I will keep her here as long as I can. Kelley and the staff at La Petite Academy Riverside are amazing! My wife and I are late bloomers and have a 5 month old daughter now. I work full time in the Computer/IT industry, and when it was time for my wife to go back to her full time job as a social working after her extended maternity leave, we knew we had to find quality childcare for our infant daughter, that would also fit within our budget. As first time parents, we were nervous and skeptical about leaving our daughter's care to anyone, but we had no choice. We researched online extensively and called numerous places. Many daycare facilities don't accept infants, and those that do charge WAY more. We were so glad to find La Petite Academy. Before we signed up, they gave us a wonderful tour of their facilities....first impressions were VERY CLEAN!...SAFE...SECURE! They even gave us a trial run for a full day, to make sure our infant daughter was able to adjust to the new environment. The staff have all been great. I really like how they have secure access codes to all the doors in the building. The coolest thing? The Brightwheel app! Even though my wife and I are busy at our daytime jobs, we get real-time text updates (with NUMEROUS photos!) on our phones of our daughter's activities throughout the day. It's all centralized within the app and we can communicate with the staff as needed. We know when our daughter's been checked in, had a diaper change, fed (and what/how much), put down for a nap, playing and when she's checked out for the day. Everything is time stamped so there's no guesswork involved. My wife and I absolutely love that app! Peace of Mind for us. No more needing to worry or call to find out how things are going. Just awesome! My daughter LOVES La Petite Academy. They have toys and activities that are appropriate for her age. When we pick her up, she is always happy and clean. The staff has always been friendly and nurturing. The inside is impeccably clean and surrounding outside play areas are safe and secure. We have been with La petite for about 2 years now, and this is an amazing school. Ms Kelly the director is always so sweet and inviting always happy to see us. This school has so many things to offer their teachers are so sweet and kind. My son started in the infant room with Ms Louise and Ms Hayley and they are the sweetest teachers, they made it easier for me to drop off my son everyday knowing he was in good hands . We also love Ms Josslyn and Ms Adriana all of their teacher actually talk to you and build a relationship with you and your child. I love that they send me updates and reassure me on days when my little ones have had a rough morning. Also they have live cameras where I can check on my kids an see what they are up to at any point of the day and can see how much fun they are having or what they are learning and seeing the teachers comfort them. We moved to Riverside this past summer and I have been so happy with La Petite Academy! We have two children attending the school - our son was 8 months when he started in the infant room and our daughter is in the three year old class. I have been impressed from the start - the tour, registering, interacting with the staff - to now, them actually attending. The teachers are wonderful and caring. I was nervous about my daughter starting a new school, but all my feelings were for naught when after the first day, she declared, "I like my new school." And she's expressed this opinion several times since - unprompted - which just makes me happy. The 3 year old preschool teacher - Ms. Angie - is great about letting parents know what they went over during the day so we can reinforce some of the teachings at home. She does this EVERY DAY. (Our prior daycare only did this once or twice a week.) She also takes the time to talk with me and answer any questions I may have. Our daughter really enjoys being in her class. She gets to participate in so many interesting activities and surprises us with what she's learning. The infant room... Ahh... My son is so happy to be in the company of all the lovely ladies manning the room. Each caretaker there is loving to all the kiddos they have. Ms. Louise and Ms. Cassie, from the day of the tour, have always been there to answer any questions I may have and give me report on how baby is doing. Miss Victoria is a gem and I'm grateful for all the care and attention she gives my little one. La Petite has the PreciousStatus app to keep parents updated on almost everything the kids do, including sharing photos (they can't do THIS daily, but I'm really impressed all the less because I get photos on a somewhat regular basis). Director Kellie and Assistant Director Corrie are the face of the school - I really appreciate that one or the other is there EVERY DAY. They are great to deal with - and answer any questions I may have. They are in the know of all the classes - AND THEY KNOW MY KIDS!!! All in all, a great experience so far! Being a stay-at-home-mom, my son had a never been away from me until he turned 3 and we started with La Petite. To say I was nervous is an understatement. Kelly, Miss Monique and the rest of the staff went out of their way to make both of us feel welcome and comfortable. Kelly, the director, always had nice words for me on days I was apprehensive to walk away and the teachers always welcomed my son with open arms. He was always excited about his day which made it so easy to return the following morning. It made my heart happy to know he was treated like one of their own. Both my husband and I noticed a difference in our sons academics immediately. He has such an interest in colors, sorting, the alphabet and art now! We are both very happy with what we are seeing! I've been waiting months to decide on if I should write a review about my child's experience here. My son attended this academy for 3 weeks and I noticed he would scream and did not want to go inside most mornings. So one morning I dropped him off at around 7am and he cried as usual, I felt he would be in good hands with the teacher (I forgot her name but she's responsible for the little kids) my son was 1 at the time. After I dropped him off I watched the camera while I was at work and noticed he had been standing in the same spot that I left him in for about 1hr and the teacher did not engage with my son AT ALL during this time. She had not gone up to him or anything, during this time he stood in the same spot. I was frustrated to watch that on camera and decided to leave work 10 hours early in hopes that the teacher( the black lady) would pay attention to my son being that their wasn't that many students in the classroom at this time. I watched the camera as I pulled up to the school and was surprised that 2 hours from the time I dropped my child off he was still standing in the same spot that I left him in that morning. I walked into the classroom with the supervisor right next to me after I explained what I had saw on camera and to my surprise my child was standing there with his shorts halfway down and a very runny nose from him crying. As a father this sight broke my heart to see this in person. My son at me and just started crying like he was so glad to see me. I looked at the teacher and I had no positive words for her and I told myself to just be quiet because It would've been bad if I had spoken my mind to her or the supervisor about what I just saw. I do not recommend this place to anyone. Please look elsewhere. I've been to afraid to enroll my child into another daycare because of this experience. When we toured this place I should've went with my gut feeling but I didn't. Good thing they have cameras and I was able to see this. This place felt more like a kids shelter than a day care. read more

He has been to Kindercare before I toured here. I felt this was the best choice I made by moving him here. Now My son comes running in everyday. He is always excited to see his teachers. We are one year in to our daycare experience at La Petite and I have been more than happy the whole way. My daughter started in the infant class with Ms. Louise and Ms. Cassi last January, and I never would have imagined that I would have found anyone who love her the way these two amazing women do. She has recently moved in to the toddler class with Ms. Jamie and Ms. Amanda and the high standards that were initially set have been continually met. All of the teachers and staff at La Petite are amazing in their own right and care about every child that walks through their door. Regarding the education, although my wife says she see's a difference after 2 years of attendance, my son is almost four and still not forming sentences. I see him copying experiments and things he see's on curious george and other PBS shows, but I never see him do new things at home that he could only have learned in school. Although all the teachers are really nice and all the kids seem to love them, i don't believe they place as high a value on education as their website claims. They are a good safe babysitting service that I trust with my son's safety and well being, but not all their website claims. I also want to note that the corporation has just implemented new late fees and penalties which could equate over $200 per month with a zero tolerance policy. If you don't drop off your check every week on the first day your child attends for the week then it's a $30 (per week) late fee and if you don't sign your child in or out correctly then they add on another $5 per instance fee (up to twice a day) which the local management can no longer waive. I'm moving my child to another school because this school seems to be becoming more like a soulless corporation trying to nickel and dime at every step and i'm unwilling to support that. I've got a strong feeling that they tens of thousands of dollars they collect will probably not go towards the deserving teachers pay or towards improving the quality of the school. read more

But my son attended la petite when he was sixth months old I don't know if the staff has changed since then but his attitude changed. He was never the same woke up screaming and when I would leave him in the mornings there was one lady he would not go to and would cry. After bringing him home he would just cry and walk around and in my gut something never felt right! That place always smells like poop and to top it off to get to the infant side you had to walk through the older kids play area there were kids on one side unattended eating play dough and fighting just horrible. I have pictures of my son from this place of nightmares and it looked as though he had been crying and is the saddest little boy my little one would laugh play and giggle and his cheeks were always so red. I knew something was wrong because when I took him to kindercare he would walk in and talk to his friends and just start playing. Big difference from this place again I don't know if it has changed here but think twice before attending this place. Kindercare is another story good with kids but MONEY HUNGRY!!! read more

My husband and I recently moved to Riverside and we're interested in putting our 1 year old in day care, simply for increased socialization & stimulation. We instantly searched Yelp and came across La Petite Academy. Given the amazing reviews, we decided to proceed with taking a tour and meeting the staff. Upon meeting Ms. Kelly (Director), she indicated that my daughter would be in the toddler class and thoroughly explained what to expect. Although we were extremely nervous about sending our little one to day care for the first time, we were reassured that we would be sent updates via Precious Status Updates on a daily basis. We then met the teachers of the toddler class and instantly knew this was the right place for our daughter. They are super caring, attentive and patient with each child. While my little one required a little warming up to her new environment, she eventually became acclimated and now looks forward to seeing her teacher Ms. Amanda. Regarding daily activities, the parents are provided a monthly calendar that displays what each day will entail. The activities are extremely fun and stimulating to the children. Ultimately, I would definitely recommend this school to anyone that is looking to place their children in day care (especially for the first time). My daughter started going here when she was 3 months old. I cannot speak highly enough of this daycare. The care givers truly care about the children and provide a lot of feedback to parents about their day, what they ate, etc. I didn't realize how amazing La Petite was until I had to move my daughter to a closer one. I am so pleased with La Petite! My son started here at about 8 months and is now almost 2. I was very worried about leaving my son in a strange place and not being able to see or get updates on him all day. After touring other daycares prior, this on was the BEST one. All the teachers there are always welcoming and EVERY one of them know my sons name. They all care so much about their kids and that to a mom means so much and creates a sense of ease as we leave them in their hands all day. The TODDLER room is the BOMB! Miss Jamie and Miss Monique are the perfect blend of teachers for these crazy kiddos. They are so fun and nurturing my son loves coming to school! Their PreciouStatus app gives peace of mind while at work. They update their every move and that is utimately why I decided to send my child here, no other daycares I saw had that. I love this daycare! Both of my kids go here and my sons teachers ms. Brenda and ms. Monica are so great with the kids and so nice! They take very good care of all the kids and my son is already learning to write his name!
