Time to step up my fitness game with a triathlon of exercise classes!…read more Barre Vivre held Open Barre: A Fitness Event, which offered free Barre, Yoga & Zumba classes. Complimentary cold-pressed juices were available to refresh between the classes. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/open-barre-a-fitness-event-artesia?select=KmAkcK3BSuqzQ86t7w90jA#l3iS2Y-dpjnHqjYj8NHf7A Lauren, the owner & Alana, my Barre class instructor http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/open-barre-a-fitness-event-artesia?select=KmAkcK3BSuqzQ86t7w90jA#KmAkcK3BSuqzQ86t7w90jA Alana teaches Barre & kids dance classes at Barre Vivre, along with being a Laker Girl! Being my first Barre class, she made it easy to follow but kept the pace moving & the workout intense. I'm glad to say I handled my inaugural Barre class like a champ! I was pulsing plies & leg lifting like a natural. Only 4 students, all female, were in the class with me. Not feeling awkward, I didn't mind, as a workout is a workout & I enjoyed doing Barre. Hydration time with some cold-pressed juices http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/open-barre-a-fitness-event-artesia?select=KmAkcK3BSuqzQ86t7w90jA#Y_08_VwYAN5C5Y5urC2GyQ Naked Juice http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/open-barre-a-fitness-event-artesia?select=KmAkcK3BSuqzQ86t7w90jA#oMKoReq9jtsAT8NOWJhDAA http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/open-barre-a-fitness-event-artesia?select=KmAkcK3BSuqzQ86t7w90jA#LyeFb47P2bwfGRqb_xM1iQ Sambazon acai juice http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/open-barre-a-fitness-event-artesia?select=KmAkcK3BSuqzQ86t7w90jA#OCdQ54FSFtNLITcorR7AOA Next up, Power yoga w/ Alex! http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/open-barre-a-fitness-event-artesia?select=KmAkcK3BSuqzQ86t7w90jA#KQWKMskRvT_LypRUNXOH4w An intimate class, with 2 fellow Yelpers, the class kicked my arse in a good way! With my limited experience with yoga, we did moves that I haven't done before. I felt the tension release from my body as I held each yoga pose, keeping focus on deep breaths. Upon completion of the class, I felt great, ready to hydrate & set to take on Zumba! Uh oh! The Zumba class was held at 8am. Unfortunately, I couldn't pull off the fitness trifecta. I don't know if that was a blessing or a curse, because the barre & yoga classes did do a number on me. The lucky fitness freaks that attended had a chance to win free gifties, compliments of Barre Vivre. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/open-barre-a-fitness-event-artesia?select=KmAkcK3BSuqzQ86t7w90jA#dY3HBvRmNoAtgn9Tlhnk-w Thanks, Barre Vivre, for offering free classes during your Open Barre: A Fitness Event. I had the opportunity to try out Barre, which I immensely enjoyed & I found out how rusty I am with yoga. I had a fun morning & the entire staff were friendly & accommodating. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/open-barre-a-fitness-event-artesia?select=KmAkcK3BSuqzQ86t7w90jA#rVsghPfDo_LRH2X4l_J_3A

I'm so incredibly excited that I found a place where the coaches care and celebrate a victory after each session - no literally, after each class the Coach asks if anyone is celebrating a victory and when someone is done speaking the entire class cheers! This is the type of environment you want to be in if you're looking to build friendships and really push yourself to the limit. I think my favorite part is pairing up with others from the class because it forces you to socialize with others who have similar goals as you. This place has quickly become somewhere I can go to let out some steam, somewhere I can go to make friends and somewhere where the Coaches truly want you to succeed. It's not like a regular gym where you go in do your thing and you're out. This place takes the time to figure out what your goals are during orientation and has someone checking in through text to assure you're feeling supported. PLEASE GIVE THIS PLACE A TRY! YOU WON'T REGRET IT!

This camp is a place to put your heath/strength/weight loss/ endurance goals on the table and the coaches will aid in helping you reach your full potential. I started in Feb 2018 and guess what....IM STILL GOING. Why? Because THIS PLACE honestly has given a new light on working out, the coaches (Jess/Sergio) CARE about you, they push your limits and they adjust when needed. Previous injuries, pains, low endurance - they HELP coach you beyond what you believe your capabilities are. They see your limits, they get to know you....they completely empower you. Not only did I stay for the staff, the "walk-in workouts" that I never have to prep for (cause guess what, you walk in and it's set up) but I stayed for the new found friends I've made that share all the same hurdles in life! Kids, work, wife life, and hard to control bad eating habits. Together, we are Unstoppable...and I go everyday just to HH (happy hour cause literally you are only there less than 1 hour!!!) with my workout friends. All of which started at different challenge times, from different backgrounds for different reasons. This Camp is for everyone, regardless of what you might think of "bootcamps"....I want to be there, and so will anyone else who shows up for the challenges! :) Shoutout: Coaches (Jess, Sergio and Eddie who I haven't seen in awhile) THANK YOU ALL for putting in all the time and effort to make Camp Excel the place for determined better-health seeking individuals! #campSFS is my Happy Hour!! #resultsareREAL

The work outs are always challenging, but it's very doable. The workouts consist of high intensity, cardio, and weight training. It's always different, so you'll never know what to expect every time. By the end of workout, you'll have a good sweat. Coach CJ is the main coach at this location. He is a great coach, who truly enjoys helping others meet their fitness goals. He really gets to know each member. He is very approachable and you can ask always ask him questions. I've really enjoyed his workouts. I've also met other coaches - Levi, Jessica, & Cesar. They are all friendly and come up with fun workouts. Whether it's adding more weights or to keep pushing through a workout, the coaches motivate members to do their best. Also, shout out to Melanie. She always greet members with a smile and notices your progress. The atmosphere at Camp Xcel is always positive. The members are all there with the same goals of being fitter and healthier. You'll never feel discouraged to workout here. Everyone is supportive of each other. This is a great place to work out as a group. Overall, I am extremely pleased with my results since I joined. I continue to lose weight and I am so much closer to meeting my fitness goals. I really enjoy coming to Camp Xcel with my husband. Camp Xcel is the best decision I made to start my fitness journey. I highly recommend Camp Xcel!
