We were looking for a place to take our uncle out to dinner near him and someone suggested this spot. Not being from the Manchester area, we called and asked if they had indoor seating and if they could accommodate a large party. They were so helpful and so attentive. The food was amazing! We ordered just about half the menu and everything was delicious! I think we found our new spot for family dinners. Everything looked so good, I started digging in and forgot to take pictures of the rest of the food we ordered. Food and service was very authentic.

The food was ok, we ordered a seafood mofongo and a mofongo de camarones. The mofongo's lacked flavor and there was not enough sauce to keep it moist. It was too dry and I was hoping to having some very delicious mofongo. Kudos to how well they manage the crowd during the pandemic. There was constant traffic of people coming to the restaurant and they restrict to 2 customers inside at a point in time. Very well managed. I will give this place another shot.

I took out lunch from this place. I called ahead, and food was ready in 15 minutes. Conoas was my favorite here. Monfongo was decent. Beef stew was good. Fried chicken was a bit salty for me. Chicken seemed to be from bony cuts.

Pork Shoulder mofongo, and it was great! My coworker got the Mofongonza and almost went into a food coma

Easily in our weekly work rotation now. Mofongonza seems worth every penny....shrimp, chicken, pork, chicharrones and mussels. No complaints here

Walked in, maybe a half hour before closing, still some great options left. The girl behind the counter was super sweet! She didn't make me feel like I was bothering her before closing. The portions were huge, the to go container was stacked to the brim! I love Authentic little Spanish hole in the walls & thats what this was. Empanadas were so delicious. Everything was. The cost of food was just amazing. I went to another Top Rate Spanish restaurant in E. Hartford week prior and it was not good. This place-the food was SO DAMN GOOD. We had a lot of leftovers. Would highly recommend this place who wants some good spanish food!!

Overall the food and service was great. Waitress was hospitable and it had a "home" feeling to it. I'd definitely go back for round two of food.

We had pork and rice and beans and empanadas and potato balls. I was so satisfied, I went to the restaurant again to pick up dinner for my family. When I went for pick up, it was clean, the soda selection was great, which my kids were excited about, and the staff was so friendly (and bilingual-which was a relief). I will definitely be back!

They have a good amount of seating available inside and great options to choose from. We did end up grabbing some made to order alcapurrias. All 3 tasted good but they needed hot sauce, lacking in flavor. I felt as the chicken one lacked the most flavor but was ok when hot sauce added & so did the pork one. I'll say that the ground beef alcapurria was my favorite out of the 3; although I still personally felt they all needed some hot sauce to add that kick missing. An alcapurria is a known Puerto Rican fritura/fried street food, growing up to even being an adult it's one of my favorite things if done right. We also had the bistec with rice, a side of beans, & a side of plantains. As well as the pernil with yellow rice. Both of these dishes lacked flavor, again needing hot sauce or missing something. The beans did have a good amount of flavor, which I enjoyed, & the plantains were slightly over fried. The visit itself was satisfying, I would return to give them another shot as well as hopefully try their carne guisada plate, which wasn't available at the time I went that day. I didn't give this business a 4 star rating simply because of the lack of flavor in mostly each item ordered. I would give it a solid 3.8 if I could.

So after doing some running around I decided to give this place a try. The owner/operator was manning the helm and was very informative. He answered all our questions while frying up orders on the fly. I tried the guava and cheese empanada and the caramel empanada. we took everything to go and brought them home for noms and pics. The empanadas are cooked well, stuffed to the gills, and flavorful. The fried oreos needed to be a bit crispier, but the flavor was there. Prices are pretty good, and the wait times were relatively quick. Overall, it's a good place to try if you're in the mood for an empanada. If you happen to be in the area and looking for a tasty bite, give these guys a try!

So far, we have tried the beef, chicken and cheese empanadas (both as snack and dinner), and they are just satisfying. Mike does not skimp on the filling for the empanadas. We've also tried the caramel empanadas (can be topped with powdered sugar, Nutella, or condensed milk) but we've had it plain. With Mike's suggestion, we added vanilla ice cream on top- and it did need it. The caramel is super sweet, so the vanilla ice cream cut the sweetness a lot. Mike is super friendly, and we wish him loads of success in his business!

So I was pleased when we had our first lunch at Negrita's today. A little hole in the wall place in New Britain, you can barely see the restaurant name past the huge tree in front of the restaurant. Waking inside, you get the strong feeling that the space used to be occupied by a Subway...same booths and layout. Seating is limited and booths only hold two people so if you're with a group, prepare to split up or take your food elsewhere to eat. Nothing is labeled and there are no menus, just a menu board up on the wall. I was not very adventurous on my first trip, but ordered yellow rice and beans with 1/4 rotisserie chicken. I also ordered one of those fried mashed potato balls with meat inside. No idea what it's called but I've always loved them. Another coworker also ordered the chicken, one got spare ribs, and one just got rice, beans and plantains. I really wish I had gotten some plantains!!!! My food was reasonable at $8.95 for the meal, the mashed potato ball and a bottle of water. I definitely have enough leftover for another meal. The chicken was moist inside but the skin was crispy. Perfect! The yellow rice and beans were fabulous. It's a perfect spot for a quick lunch because you don't have to wait long. I will definitely be back to try some of the other meats and the bacalaitos...curious to see how they compare to my Italian grandmother's codfish fritters that she makes every Christmas!!
