The food was ok, we ordered a seafood mofongo and a mofongo de camarones. The mofongo's lacked flavor and there was not enough sauce to keep it moist. It was too dry and I was hoping to having some very delicious mofongo. Kudos to how well they manage the crowd during the pandemic. There was constant traffic of people coming to the restaurant and they restrict to 2 customers inside at a point in time. Very well managed. I will give this place another shot. read more

This is the first time back since they went to cash only and I believe, new owners. I ordered mangu with chicharron and a beef empanada. Price came to $12.36. Excellent price for the food I received. Portion size was just right. Quite a few items to choose from in the front trays, plus a menu board. Taste was spot on. Friendly woman in front. Still a great place to go get latin food. I took out lunch from this place. I called ahead, and food was ready in 15 minutes. Conoas was my favorite here. Monfongo was decent. Beef stew was good. Fried chicken was a bit salty for me. Chicken seemed to be from bony cuts. read more

Walked in, maybe a half hour before closing, still some great options left. The girl behind the counter was super sweet! She didn't make me feel like I was bothering her before closing. The portions were huge, the to go container was stacked to the brim! I love Authentic little Spanish hole in the walls & thats what this was. Empanadas were so delicious. Everything was. The cost of food was just amazing. I went to another Top Rate Spanish restaurant in E. Hartford week prior and it was not good. This place-the food was SO DAMN GOOD. We had a lot of leftovers. I was browsing restaurants in the manchester area and decided to try this as I have been missing the delicious mofongo from my PR vaca. I got the seafood mofongo and a alcapurria. Both tasted oversalted and drenched in oil but without much other flavor. The texture of the mofongo itself was ok. This was ok for the area, but I don't expect that I will try it again. read more

Delicious food. Hot fresh, all the flavors and traditional dishes. If they don't have it available they will make it. Fresh Cilantro in the rice. Friendly service, and a nice area to sit. Prices are decent as well. read more

The food was excellent pork shoulder with Mofongo. The kids had rice with beans and chicken. The beans was a little bit garlicky so the kids didn't eat it but otherwise the food was great. The bacalao was on point piña colada needs a little bit more flavor. Otherwise the food is good. read more

It's a fairly new establishment In the save a lot plaza. A very small restaurant where you can just walk in and pick up. They do have small tables for dining but not for large parties. Menu is displayed behind the counter on a TV. Food is displayed in front of you to see. So far I have gone several times and the food is moderately good I always buy rice with pork shoulder and beans a large plate it's about nine dollars. The staff is friendly and if they make a mistake with their meal they will quickly correct it. The food was very good here, but my coworkers and I came here on Friday for lunch. We didn't call ahead but we didn't think it would take more than 20 minutes to get 3 mofongos... it ended up taking more than an hour! The wait was brutal especially cause there wasn't any AC. Just order pernil and yellow rice from here. They are usually good when it come to delivery orders but the meat was all fat not even a good piece of pernil was there. Then we also wanted maduros but instead they gave us tostones. read more

What!! Do they get up every morning and take a Jetblue nonstop from SJU to BDL? I have vacationed extensively in PR not just for the beautiful beaches,but more importantly the food. La Plazita del Mofongo captures the complete essence of the Latin flavors in PR food. The month of our first visit we came back at least 5 times. Even ordered when we had visitors from out of town. it was my first time here. I got the combination mofongo meal with beef stew and fried chicken, and fried pork. 1st, the mofongo was really bland. then the beef stew.... it was SOOO DRY!! I did not know that it was possible to dry your stewed meat!! Could barely swallow it. the Fried pork was really salty, thanks goodness I only got one piece! the fried chicken was ok, I mean...I couldn't tell it was chicken... it taste ok because I love anything fried :). overal, I'm glad that I gave this place a try... will I be back? That's a hard NO. This was my first time trying mofongo... and sadly it might be my last mofongo's meal. read more

Hands down one of the best Hispanic restaurants I've been to in a while. The food here is to die for and with so many options to choose from it's highly encouraged that you come back and see what you missed. You can stop for some bacon and eggs or you could get one of their mouthwatering signature mofongos. Very underrated and definitely top 3 Hispanic restaurants in the state of CT. read more

The beans did have a good amount of flavor, which I enjoyed, & the plantains were slightly over fried. The visit itself was satisfying, I would return to give them another shot as well as hopefully try their carne guisada plate, which wasn't available at the time I went that day. I didn't give this business a 4 star rating simply because of the lack of flavor in mostly each item ordered. I would give it a solid 3.8 if I could.

I first started with their mojito. This was fresh and minty. A delightful cocktail. Their complimentary bread, was pillowy and fresh. Be careful, it is easy to overdo it with this delicious bread. For an appetizer we got a serving of their Babaganoush. This was an excellent pairing to that bread. This was incredibly tasty, you could taste the the eggplant, the olive oil and the lemon juice, together they created a super dreamy creamy combo. I got their version of a Gyro Quesadilla. This arrived with four very generous portions. It was filled with tender lamb and melted cheese. We got a Greek salad to share. This salad was very generous in its size, it was very fresh and tasty.
