Bloomingdale, NJ - this place is a favorite of the locals and among my top 3 Mexican restaurants in…read morethe area, but is the one we like to dine in at the most because the food is always good, it's homey, and the people are very sweet. I'm always psyched for the salsa here and could probably polish off a whole basket of tortilla chips by myself with it. It's got just the right amount of mild kick. You're given a complimentary cheesy tortilla as an appetizer as well. We often get the queso derretido con chorizo appetizer, a combo platter of some sort, and I'm a fan of their paella as well, which is stuffed to the brim with chicken, chorizo, and seafood. They serve up a complimentary dessert of banana & honey chimichanga at the end which is yummy. The prices have gone up a fair bit in the last couple of years, and they do charge 4% for credit card payment (an increasingly common practice that's anathema to someone who hates carrying cash like me), so I was tempted to take away a star. But in light of our overall great experiences here, always satisfying meals, excellent and friendly service (shoutout to Fabian), not to mention the freebies they throw in, a 5-star rating is still justified.

The ONLY downside isn't even the restaurant itself, it's the website. It is very hard to navigate but it doesn't even correlate with the restaurant so disregard this critique. The fajitas are so good I get them every time. I don't even need a menu because I already know what I'm ordering! The delicious fajitas that come out sizzling every time. The look, smell, and feel of the restaurant is absolutely amazing! I love the lighting and the horse in the front. The horse is a monumental statue, as it is there every time you visit. I've taken many pictures there in front of it and they always come out stunning, it's just my face that makes it stunning though! And the horse I guess! The chips and salsa they give you when you walk in are absolutely exquisite! My family downs two bowls in five minutes! And they replace the bowl and chips when you run out, so you can imagine how many empty bowls are in that kitchen! Last but certainly not least, the churros. They're nice and warm for the palate to cleanse after you eat your delectable fajitas. You get about 6 or 7 churros with carmel sauce or chocolate sauce. You also get a bowl of ice cream on the side with spoons. Very delicious. Every night I have dreams about this resturant and I don't want them to end. That's why, starting July 1st, I'm going to eat, breathe, and sleep Casa Don Manuel! Thank you if you stayed to read this and get to the end. Good night and I hope you choose Casa Don Manuel as your next restaurant experience. I hope your destiny brings you here. It would make my experience 10x better if I got a picture with the owner, so if anyone could hook me up that would be great. Love you y'all and have an amazing Saturday evening! Always remember, Lisa B is lying!
