It's a good local deli with a few spots to sit, like an old style luncheonette. This type of spot has mostly gone extinct as the area has trended towards either quicker chain food or bougier food. This is a fantastic deli. The selection is phenomenal. The food is all tasty and fresh. They have a lot of turnover so their cold cuts are always fresh. Today I got the DJ - turkey, avocado, tomato, mixed greens, herb mayo on multigrain bread. It did not disappoint. The bread was soft and yummy. You can taste the herbs in the mayo. Tomato and greens were crisp and not wilted at all. All do the sandwiches come with a very generous pile of potato chips and a pickle spear. If you want you can sub in carrot and celery sticks - which I did. It's a nice option. They have a lovely area with tables to eat in. I had envy today when I saw a bowl of delicious looking steel cut oatmeal heaping with berries, raisins, nuts and granola go out. I wanted that! And the graham cracker and cinnamon bun coffee flavors in the urns also tempted me but unfortunately i had already had more than enough coffee for the rest of the world to deal with today. When my sister recommended JD's to me, my initial thought was, "it's a deli, how great can it be?" Really great, as I found out! We went on a Thursday afternoon and JD's was very busy, both for dine-in and takeout. Still, the wait to order was very short and the staff was friendly. We both got sandwiches to-go, the JDwich and The DJ. They were very easy going about making customizations to the sandwiches, and we only waited about 10 minutes for the food to come out. Was traveling through and stopped at J.D.'s for lunch. Cozy little spot in a strip mall, fairly busy on a weekday at lunch time, but no wait for a table. Saw a lot of folks picking up to go orders. Kind of amused by the staff. A lot of young ladies apparently high school age waiting tables, cleaning up and assisting customers. They were all very polite, friendly and helpful. I had the pastrami on rye, quality of pastrami good, but realized when served it wasn't a "hot" sandwich - my error. Tasty, good rye bread. Fries were good too. Went here to pick up lunch for later in the day and heard great news about this place. With it being less than 5 minutes from my house I had to give it a try. I ordered a liberty sandwich in a whole wheat wrap and upon my order they said it would take less than 10 minutes. I hurried over and was greeted with a smile and a friendly hello by the staff. I paid for my meal picked it up and left to my motorcycle endorsement class. When lunch time finally came I destroyed this wrap. The Cajun chicken was perfectly seasoned with its salty and flavorful spices. With it pairing so well with the chipotle sauce and cheese I was in wrap heaven. The sliced pickles and chips along my meal was the cherry on top. I plan on coming here again when I have my del cravings for an awesome Sandwhich. Please check this place out if you are in the area. This place is in the middle of a strip mall with a pizzeria, a Chinese restaurant, paint store, etc. plenty of parking spaces in the lot. I have been here for breakfast a few times. My favorite is the whitey. It's a Taylor ham, eggs and cheese on thick French toast. This is pretty much my standard breakfast sandwich whenever I eat out for breakfast. I have had many of these at different places and I would rate this as one of the better ones. There are seating inside but it gets full pretty quick. So get here early or get it to go if there are no tables available. The prices here are very reasonable and worth every penny. read more
