I went here with a co-worker & came back for lunch the next two days. I ordered a steak burrito & an iced tea. The iced tea was just a regular iced tea no complaints there & the steak burrito was awesome. They give you chips & three different kinds of salsa. Two red salsas & one green salsa. The red salsas are spicier which I liked a lot & the green salsa was kind of a guacamole salsa. All of the salsas were delicious & the chips were pretty good as well. The servers were pretty good for the most part just not to talkative. I also ordered food to go & it sat at the front counter for 10 minutes before I realized I was supposed to pick it up at the counter & that they weren't going to bring it to my table. Other than that everything was very good. Overall the food was awesome, the service was not bad & the place was clean. I would eat here again.

There are a few things on this menu that I can't get enough of. The combination fajitas is one of those things. Steak, chicken, & shrimp nicely grilled with peppers and onions. There is no heavy sauce or overly strong flavors. It's a very clean & fresh mix, just add any or all of the hot sauces they serve and it's complete. I prefer flour tortillas over corn and again they make them better. How? They throw them on the grill a bit which really brings out the flavor. This is the only place I know that does it. I have to say LaPresa has some of the best hot sauces I've ever had! Not just heat but unique flavors for each one, mild, medium, & hot. If you dine in you will get a sample of all three with chips. The tacos here are great as well. I had 3 steak with everything, that will include onions, cilantro, lettuce, & tomato. Purists may opt to skip the lettuce & tomato. Regardless it was very good. The steak pieces are small bits that are lightly charred. It eats great! This last time I also tried the langostino or crayfish grilled in a spicy garlicky sauce. These are cut in half, grilled and mixed into the sauce. You have to get messy here. Pick one up, split the tail from the body, suck the sauce from the body, eat the tail meat from the shell, & lick your fingers... It's goooood! I thinks it's a good addition to an entree. It's a strong sauce so it's good to have something else to eat along side it. I have to mention the 1.2L bottle of Victoria that is served in its own ice bed! Love it! I've been coming here for a few years along side Mexico Uno in downtown Palatine. Between the two you should be pretty satisfied with the Mexican fix in this area. You just need to try things and pick the best from each spot.

Three salsa sauces: Spicy, Fire and Blow your Mind!!! No fountain drinks, but all sweet drinks are the Mexican ones with real sugar. Caso Fondtio was to say the least AWESOME!!! Steak and Enchiladas was HOLY $H!T CRAZY GOOD. The steak fajitas were really awesome!!!

This place is kind of hit or miss for us. The prices are pretty typical of traditional Mexican, so I'm not up in arms about that. My husband and I have carried out from here a couple of times, and each time we either love it or wish we went somewhere else. Today it was the latter. I had a chimichanga, which was just okay. Last time I had tacos al pastor, which were rich and very satisfying. So I guess you never know, but I'll definitely keep working my way through the menu! Oh... and beware the box full of raw jalapeños! I mean, the pico de gallo.

Order Counter. They have a lot of beverage choices!

Came here for the first time after reading Yelp reviews, and boy am I glad I did! The waitresses were super nice offering suggestions on things to try. I got the steak taco dinner and it was delicious. The steak was great and I loved the refried beans. My daughter got chicken tacos, son in-law got tongue tacos and my wife got fish tacos and they were all satisfied with their food. Great fresh made guacamole with a very large portion for the price. I will definitely be going back to tis place.

Delicious salsas-automatically comes with free chips if you eat in

For a taco place this is 5/5. I'm comparing this to other taco joints not places like Carnivale, Sunda, and Mortons. My food came out super quick that I love. The chips were still warm and fresh. Tons of steak on my steak tacos. Horchata glass is 20 oz for 2.25-great deal Horchata is delicious Pretty standard prices for the food Really clean and neat dining area I am extremely Americanized but each item on the menu was in Spanish and English. They have avocados if you ask. And they are free if you ask for them in the tacos. It cost extra for a side of them. I thought they opened later but I came closing time so they were putting chairs up and stuff. That's my fault I guess.

Tampequeña dinner. Delicious delicate char, and cut thicker than most other skirt/flank cuts.

Delicious! By far, THE best fish ceviche I've had at a suburban Mexican restaurant in a while, served in a giant platter - perfect if you're on the Beachbody or on a low carb diet, (They also offer a shrimp ceviche, but the fish version - tilapia, is what the waitress recommended.) served with saltines or tostadas. I ate it without. Both options were $13.99. Hubby had the tampequeña - perfect salt/pepper flavor, though the giant chile we could have done without. Son had the 3 steak taco dinner, also delicious - $7.99. Huge menu. Over 140 different combination platters and dinners. Chips and 3 types of salsas from medium to hot. The green salsa still had heat, so I won't call it mild. They have a decent beer selection and offer cocktails as well. I rate the food, not the locale, really. This place needs upkeep, but it's clean. Will definitely be back.

Large Shrimp cocktail. Large. Means 12 shrimp. Small has 6.
    Lilo S.

Pretty decent. Wanted the grilled red snapper that was on the menu but apparently they only offer it fried... But the fried one was also delicious. Huge portion but the price is on the high end for $25.99. Would be nice if the dish included beans and another side besides rice and lettuce salad. The shrimp cocktail flavor wasn't the best but the good part is the shrimp was devined.

    Crystal S.

Let's start with the salsa. I have never been to a taco place that has a salsa almost as good as the one my mom makes. This salsa is actually hot! I'm talking runny nose hot. The tacos are cooked to perfection. The micheladas are bomb. They even have La Rosa De Guadalupe playing on the TV. If you're thinking of going to Salsa Street down the street DON'T! Turn around and come to La Presa.

She is so sweet and certainly very proud of her restaurant! We asked her for recommendations and she was happy to share some of the top preferred items of guests. She gave us time to look over the menu. I settled on the fried catfish dinner with a side of grits, greens & a roll. Hubby wanted fish and chips with a roll. Lisa told us that everything is made fresh to order so it would be about 15-20 mins. We weren't in any hurry, but we appreciated the heads up and the fact that it was all freshly made. The food arrived crispy and hot and oh so delicious! My catfish was so flakey. The grits and greens were the perfect sides to go with it. Hubs really enjoyed his fish and chips. The fries were so good, we couldn't stop eating them. Lisa also sold us on the fresh bread pudding, but we so full so we had to take it go. Just finished it tonight and it was even more delicious than she described! We will certainly be returning to try the shrimp po' boy and other items on her menu! Plus more bread pudding. I was hoping that it would be a taste of New England here in the midwest. Placed our extensive and expensive order for 6 hoping to have dishes to share. The order was placed...all to be ready for pickup in about an hour. Feeling generous, a 10% tip was added to the tab (even though I had to pick up) Six mouths watering, here is what we ordered and here is what we received: 1) Clam chowder - opening a can of Campbell's would have been more tasty! Hard to find an actual clam in this bland bowl of liquid. Bacon? Clam? haa haa! 2) Clam Strips - oh sorry, we're all out. 3) Lobster roll - the lobster consisted of a few flakes - no chunks! Again, absolutely bland. No flavor but plenty of chewy roll served with a tiny cup of uninspiring limp cole slaw. 4) Lobster Mac and Cheese - oh sorry, we're out. 5) 1/2 rack Ribs - overcharred, dry not meaty hunk served again with their limp cole slaw. Not even BBQ sauce to choke these char sticks down with. 6) Cheddar(?) biscuits - 4 bland biscuit blobs that the kids wouldn't even eat. Absolutely NO flavor. 7) Crab spaghetti - pasta was OK but the search was on for crab chunks. 8) Coconut shrimp - the ONLY saving grace of this entire meal disaster. It was quite good. 9) Key Lime/blueberry pie - the 1/2" graham cracker bowl swollowed up the tiny amount of key lime filling topped by an abundance of blueberry pie filling (yes, the kind you buy in a can). The dense crust was so hard to break into that the scant lime was not worth the effort. The only edible part was the whipped cream which was quite good. You would think that whoever takes an order would be aware of what is no longer available. BUT the manager "generously" offered to take the items off our charge. WOWEEEE. To top it off, after we left the building, we noticed that the clam chowder was not in the bag which required another "face to face". To add insult to injury, our 10% tip was not adjusted.
