Had a fabulous time at a recent Concert in the Park here. Top notch park design. Great stage and concert foundation for dance floor and other performances. Love the fact the parking is close to the park entrance and several co-located picnic benches for those with mobility issues. There was a small rose garden along the walking path in front of the stage, with built in benches around it in case you need a seat. Lots of beautiful open grass space, incredible playground, and impressive an coffee stand. This is what our communities look like when we invest in them. Great job La Puente local government and residents. You all rock! The basketball courts looked fun as well! I don't play but plenty of young people were enjoying all the recreational offerings as we older folks danced the night away! read more

I am extremely disappointed with the way this situation was handled and the level of professionalism shown by staff. When I enrolled my child in the Parent and Me class, I specifically asked whether both parents could attend. I was clearly told yes. I was also informed the class would be held at the playground. When we arrived at the playground, no one was there. I had to call to find out the class was actually being held inside. After going inside, the instructor informed us that only one parent was allowed to attend. Roxanna then referenced the flyer and stated that "Parent and Me" meant only one parent, insinuating that I misunderstood or could not read it correctly. I have attended many Mommy and Me and Parent and Me classes in the past, and when only one parent is allowed, it is clearly specified on the flyer. This flyer did not state that limitation. She then told me that I should have contacted Tiny Tots directly for information rather than relying on the front desk. This was my first time visiting this park. There was no way for me to know that the information provided by staff was incorrect or that it was my responsibility to verify it elsewhere. The conflicting information, poor communication, and dismissive attitude made this a very frustrating and disappointing experience. I hope staff receive better training so families are given accurate information and treated respectfully. read more

Too many dogs without a leash at this park. There is many big dogs that are unleashed and they terrorize my kids they don't pick up their waste and they city ordinances are posted but nobody enforces them. Unfortunately the people who come here have birthday parties on weekly take over the grassy areas and leave so much garbage behind, bathrooms are left filthy. I always come on Sunday mornings and bring a trash bag to help clean the park up as I live across the street and the garbage bring back coyotes and possums. Hilda Solis our parks have seen better days and we should have an AED Device for emergencies as we do have many older citizens who visit this park. They remodeled this park so much. They added so many additions to the part, which I love. They even have a cafe. Where they serve coffee and other treats. They updated the playground. I like how they added a little bit of everything sports related, like upgrading the baseball field, the football field, the softball field, and I was also surprised they had added a skate park. I went to the community center to vote. It was well organized. The line moved fast. read more

This park has come a long way since I was a kid. They have a small jungle gym play area for toddlers, a play area with larger jungle gym for older kids, 2 areas for working out, a skate park, walking trail, private soccer field with canopy areas that provide ample shade, and a coffee shop. This isn't even including the other end of the park that has baseball fields and ample open grass areas. It was great to see families enjoying the park well into the night. Felt safe and had plenty of parking. Love what the city has done. They also have concerts at the park that start in June! Definately, one of the best local parks in the area. read more

Some of the activities were pretty challenging because I tried it haha and some of them are also dangerous. A couple of us got hurt from the blue slide. But ultimately, it's a nice playground. I am also glad the kids there were also very friendly. Our little ones probably had the most fun at the spin around item. read more

Great environment for the kids and family , my daughter loves playing at this park. I drive about 25 minutes just to come to this park , the playground is huge and amazing for all ages. There is a playground for smaller kids and a playground for older kids. The park is very clean compared to other parks in the SGV, even the restrooms surprisingly. Not only do they have an amazing playground but they have other amenities people can use such as outdoor gym equipment, a skate park, a baseball field, and a small outdoor soccer area. They also have a small cafe on site which is super cute. Haven't tried their drinks but I will during my next visit. The only down side is that there is limited parking but overall great park, wish we had more parks like this around SGV. read more

This is the park my kids always want to go to. There is something for everyone. Toddler area to play, something for bigger kids and if you want to work out while your kids play, you can pump yourself up with their equipment. They have a cafe on site if you need a little pick me up. You can BBQ and have a birthday party, get your steps in walking around the track, or pop a wheelie on your skateboard on their skate park. They have family restrooms in case you need to change your little ones. read more

My son and I really enjoy this park we are here 5-6 times a week. Sometimes 2 times a day since we live 2 streets down and let me just say he enjoys it. He walks around wherever he wants and he always ends up by the baseball field where the police officers are which he likes to play with them. The restrooms are always on point and clean for me to change him and sanitary which helps me feel comfortable. I also like the soccer field which is where he runs with his ball and just goes wild. For parents around the area I definitely recommend this park to take your kids they run around and have fun. They have a section for kids 6months -2 years then 2-5 years and so on. Thank you to the officers for having the presence there makes me feel safe with my son. read more

The park is nice but I had a lady tell me that I couldn't pass through because the football kids were practicing. Where she was at was a walk way. I told her I needed to go to the restroom that it's right there but she told me I had to use the restroom way in the front. I went to the restroom and I was watching her and she was tell all the Asians they needed to go around but then I would see her let the Americans (whites) go by... I think its wrong that she makes some people go around but some people its ok with a smile. Not happy about this because some people don't have a good strong bladder and have health issues need to go right then and there. read more

I recommend this park, it has multiple activities available to the general public, including 2 basketball outdoor courts, a really large Skating area and a small Coffee Shop called LP Perk Café. The park is well kept and secured by a park Police at all times. read more

By far, the nicest park La Puente has ever had. They really did good with this one. The playground area is huge and with new equipment. There's plenty of play areas for kids of all ages. There's a decent sized basketball court (including smaller hoops for younger kids), an exercise area, decent skate park, shaded picnic area, farmers market, coffee shop, and more. What can I say. This is an amazing community facility. The millions of dollars in capital improvements that have been conducted here over the past several years have turned this in to a prime location for people of all ages to relax and play. The City staff is absolutely top notch, and this is a very safe park at all hours. They even have filtered waiter in the drinking fountains! read more

Went recently and loved it. There are so many sketchy parks around here, but this one's really nice. Lots of great interactive things for the kids to play with of all ages, and security roams the area on a golf cart, so we felt safe. There's also a skate park that looked pretty awesome. It also has a very well lit parking lot! Which is a big plus for me. read more

Soccer fields are always getting closed for couple of weeks and other activities like the skate parks always get closed for couple of days

In this day an age of parks being overrun by hooligans, drug dealers, child molesters, and glass and nail filled play grounds LP Park knock on wood has not yet had none of these problems. One would have to give a huge thanks and credit to it's safety to the constant surveillance by the industry sheriffs department. they're always driving the perimeter, driving through, or parked inside, or have unmarked cars parked by the playground. you might ask why is there so many cops and that's easy the industry sheriff department is 20 seconds away so, they hang out at the park a lot. Maybe eating donuts or something I don't know lol JP. in my 30 plus years of attending this park we have never had a problem here. it's mostly Latino based its shaped in almost a perfect square and one can see from one end to the other. St Joseph catholic school is connected so, early and mid day lots of kids with nuns can be seen playing during their break times. Playground: is a good size and has a blue spongy safety floor to protect children from serious injury. it has a huge play-set equip with slides, swings and monkey bars.there are benches for mom or dads can sit while the kids run around. Walking: they have this small cemented walking track for those moms that want to push a stroller or for those moms wanting to walk a bit while the kids play. it's a smooth twisting track that goes around the playground and bbq area. Picnic shelter. they have one huge shelter next to the playground and a couple small ones on the east and west sides of the park.Now you can rent them if you want and I would suggest that if you're looking for a particular date. A brand new community center is also located next to the playground an, I would suggest you ladies use their bathrooms for yourselves and kids. The community center is a good size with plenty of activities for all social gathering. SPORTS. The park is pretty big so plenty of sports are always being played. Soccer is always being played here day and night and it doesn't matter if its raining, they still play in pitch dark rain lol Football: during football season they have a league from pee wee to young adult if you like to join. Baseball: they have a little league with two fields that are maintain by parks and rec. An average league. Softball they have two softball fields which are really nice an, are always in use. either they have league play or Travel ball every weekend. at least them fields are being used. These fields are also very well maintained by parks and rec.....I have a special connection to the Fortunato Jimenez field as that field was named after my father. 1914-2004 He was the last living member of the fist city council of La Puente, He was also the first latino and first person voted into an all white council. Pretty impressive; for this local resident who also fought in WWII and graduated from USC. Just a few of his accomplishments. He also started the the 3rd of July fireworks show that has grown into a annual event that is enjoyed by thousands of families every year! His memory lives on with the continue success of the city and fireworks show! Hand ball courts: these are always in use they are located on the west side of the park next to St Joseph catholic school. there are four walls so plenty of room for a lot of cholos to play! Basketball: The basketball courts are located next to the handball courts close to temple ave. There is two of them and they are surrounded by a huge fence why? Because, it used to be the tennis courts! So over all its an excellent park safe and sound with plenty of room for sports, kites, remote control flying vehicles, or just to lye under a tree and read a good book. We have been bring my son to this park since he was 3 months. He's only 5 now, and we have came at several different times. He's such a regular that the guys who play hand ball, know him by name and when they see us at stores with their family, the wives usually says something like "so, you'r the famous boy they talk about" one lady even said you know "maybe one day you can even be Mayor" lol. This review is for July 4th firework ONLY. La Puente City Park did a great job on the July 4th firework show. They are so considering that they scheduled the firework on July 3rd (Tuesday) night instead of July 4th (Wednesday) since people have work the following day. They blocked Glendora to Hacienda Blvd intersection for the safety of pedestrians. All the nearby neighbors will show up at their front yards to enjoy the 30 mins firework show. People are playing basket ball at the park. They will turn off all the lights in park when the firework is playing. It's a great firework show. read more

I feel like this park is not safe, specially at night when there is hardly any light, they say keep ur kids active but this park only turns on part of the light for people that pay to keep them on, there is always homeless people sleeping at benches I think they should keep the light on for people that go exercise in the afternoons. read more

About 2 weeks ago I decided to take a walk with my 3 year old and my 1 month old to this park. It was around 3pm. While walking towards the playground there were homeless people around the benches. Walking past just made me feel uncomfortable. Once we got to the playground there was graffiti on the playground with vulgar language. We were only there for about 35 minutes when I noticed more homeless people walk in. I don't like to put myself in uncomfortable/unsafe situations especially with my children so I decided to leave. I swear I looked like a paranoid lady walking out looking around every corner but my nerves were just tense. I didn't feel safe not having my boyfriend with us which sucks cause I would like to be able to take my oldest to the park and have a great time. La Puente needs to step it up. Also there was a reviewer talking about the lights at night which is true. The playground has NO LIGHT. The children only have the lights from the surrounding to guide their play. During this season the sun is gone by the time most parents come out of work. read more
