This park has come a long way since I was a kid. They have a small jungle gym play area for toddlers, a play area with larger jungle gym for older kids, 2 areas for working out, a skate park, walking trail, private soccer field with canopy areas that provide ample shade, and a coffee shop. This isn't even including the other end of the park that has baseball fields and ample open grass areas. It was great to see families enjoying the park well into the night. Felt safe and had plenty of parking. Love what the city has done. They also have concerts at the park that start in June! Definately, one of the best local parks in the area.

They remodeled this park so much. They added so many additions to the part, which I love. They even have a cafe. Where they serve coffee and other treats. They updated the playground. I like how they added a little bit of everything sports related, like upgrading the baseball field, the football field, the softball field, and I was also surprised they had added a skate park. I went to the community center to vote. It was well organized. The line moved fast.

12.3o.2o24 First time here. Scheduled a playdate with another friend's kid. It looks pretty nice and very colorful. Some of the activities were pretty challenging because I tried it haha and some of them are also dangerous. A couple of us got hurt from the blue slide. But ultimately, it's a nice playground. I am also glad the kids there were also very friendly. Our little ones probably had the most fun at the spin around item.

Beautiful clean park, I was impressed on how nice the facility was and they have affordable and coffee shop.

Adding more photos of the playground areas so local families can see! We love the two playgrounds, especially because this one has one specifically for toddlers to play around. The family bathrooms are clean, and we love the coffee shop at the park as well!

This is the park my kids always want to go to. There is something for everyone. Toddler area to play, something for bigger kids and if you want to work out while your kids play, you can pump yourself up with their equipment. They have a cafe on site if you need a little pick me up. You can BBQ and have a birthday party, get your steps in walking around the track, or pop a wheelie on your skateboard on their skate park. They have family restrooms in case you need to change your little ones.

My son and I really enjoy this park we are here 5-6 times a week. Sometimes 2 times a day since we live 2 streets down and let me just say he enjoys it. He walks around wherever he wants and he always ends up by the baseball field where the police officers are which he likes to play with them. The restrooms are always on point and clean for me to change him and sanitary which helps me feel comfortable. I also like the soccer field which is where he runs with his ball and just goes wild. For parents around the area I definitely recommend this park to take your kids they run around and have fun. They have a section for kids 6months -2 years then 2-5 years and so on. Thank you to the officers for having the presence there makes me feel safe with my son.

What an amazing playground, if only West Covina put the thought and money into making something like this.

I absolutely love Peter F. Schabarum Regional Park! It's the perfect quick escape -- close enough…read moreto civilization for convenience, yet far enough to leave the hustle and bustle of traffic and city life behind. Right now the cherry blossoms are in full, breathtaking bloom, turning parts of the park into a dreamy pink wonderland. The wildlife is thriving too: squirrels galore that are so bold they'll walk right up to your feet if you sit still and stay calm. On warmer days I've spotted rattlesnakes scurrying across the trails, so I always recommend staying in the middle of the paths as a safety precaution. From the main entrance at Colima Road, you can choose the paved walkway or head straight for the dirt trails depending on your mood. I usually make my way toward the horse stables and equestrian area -- watching the horses get fed or running around their enclosures is one of my favorite parts. Just be mindful of the occasional big mounds of horse droppings on the trails; it's a small price to pay for the beauty. The park is generally very clean, with plenty of trash cans scattered throughout. There are numerous benches, picnic areas, fire pits perfect for groups, a children's playground, and even a seasonal creek with several charming wooden bridges crossing directly over it (though the water is pretty dry now that the rainy season is over). You'll also notice signs posted along the trails warning about bobcats and mountain lions. I've been coming here regularly for six months and haven't heard or seen any myself, but I've seen quite a few hikers carrying pepper spray as a precaution. Just be safe out there. Weekends get busy with families celebrating birthdays and enjoying the outdoors, but it's all part of the lively atmosphere. For dog lovers, there are two fantastic off-leash dog parks right near the front entrance -- one for large dogs and one for medium/small dogs. Outside of those areas, dogs must be on leash per the signs. The hilltop trails offer absolutely stunning panoramic views that make every visit worthwhile. My only heads-up: the park is officially closed on Mondays and Tuesdays (per LA County rules), but a lot of locals park across the street at the nearby mall and walk in through the gates anyway. If you're in the Rowland Heights/Hacienda Heights area and looking for a beautiful regional park with trails, nature, horses, cherry blossoms, and those lovely wooden bridges over the creek, I highly recommend Schabarum. Just bring water, wear good shoes, keep an eye out for those snakes in the summer, and stay aware on the trails! 5/5 -- I'll definitely be back soon.
