I really enjoyed this park! My son and I came here during the week and there was only one other family here. They have elaborate playground equipment with cool slides. They have a small side and a bigger kid side and my son enjoyed playing on both sides. I have noticed unsavory characters in the parking lot before but they left us alone. There seemed to be a restroom in the community center area but it was locked when we went so when my son had to use the restroom, it was time to go! There was also a nice little walking trail as well and baseball courts that we didn't use. read more

LMAO this is the ghetto weed lord park hahaha. There's 2 levels of parking and I've never had issues finding parking even when there are multiple sports games going on. Decently clean park and they just refurbished the playground on the top layer. It's crazy, the slides are 3 "stories" high. They also have xylophones. Lots of variety, great update (maybe I'll go down the slide too if I have enough courage to not get stuck). The sunset here is great since you can look down on the valley and see all the city lights afterwards. Lots of bunnies and the coyotes come out boldly at night, so beware ! read more

My friend introduced me to this park during the pandemic and I fell in love! Totally didn't expect such a large and spacious park to be hidden in West Covina, especially since I visit here often. It's also very beautifully decorated with lots of trees, bushes, and flowers. This park has been quiet for the most park with really few visitors. There is plenty of room for everyone, dogs included, and more than enough space to enforce social distancing measures. We've enjoyed a few picnics here and it's been great to get out of the house. read more

Puppy and I came here today. Such a nice place to have a picnic. A lot of greenery. Plenty of tables and benches with grills. You can smell the flowers while going down the stairs. A lot of people are doing their morning walks and some having their breakfast. There is a nice view overlooking a lot of trees, houses and hillsides. We were down the lower area the whole time where we resided by a shady young tree. There is an upper part of the park. The view from up there is amazing. There are a lot of mothers with younger children playing at a playground, there is a baseball field and the farside has tennis court. There is also a community center where they held a yoga class. I love this park. My new favorite spot to chill out and read a book. read more

Nice! Finally found a decent park to walk the dogs in. It's clean and has a nice little trail. It had a baseball field, tennis court and basketball court. Didn't see too many weirdos or hobos hanging out at the park either so thats a big plus! The only thing i would say that was negative about this park was the cleanliness. Dog owners should be responsible enough to pick up their dog's poop, but they don't. But someone at the park should at least clean it. There's piles of poop everywhere. Also near the picnic area I saw condom wrappers.......so, yeah. Be careful what you touch lol Other than that, decent park. If it was cleaner, i would give this park another star! read more

You can find anything from friendly pick up games of basketball to Karate classes at the Rec center they have. This park has been here for years and is used as a place to vote in your ballot for the local community. I've grown up playing Baseball and learning Karate here at a young age. You can find a decent sized playground on the south side of this park, and since they've remodeled this park recently your getting an even better experience then when I was growing up. The remodeled portion is the area on the west side before you go up the stairs(If you've parked at the bottom) This area overlooks the city of West Covina and is a perfect place to set up for a picnic/bbq or just to take long circular walks. Park that divides itself in two section. Both sections are divided by set of stairs and disability ramps. Bottom section is for runner, walker, and kids practicing softball. Top portion of the park has tennis and basketball court, large baseball field, and grass field for soccer. I frequently take my dog here for walks and physical activity during the night time, and the park provide doggy litter bags, which was a plus. There are lights at night and many people walking here. During the day, the park is rather empty. However, during the night, there are many residents exercise and doing activity at the park. I wish it had been less crowded, so I have more space to walk my dog. There are many wild rabbits in this park, so if you have pets that likes to chase smaller animals, hold them tight on the leash. It's very large, has lots of parking spots, has basket ball courts, two baseball fields, bathrooms, clean picnic areas with grills, and a small kids play set. It's perfect for bringing your dog on a walk. It even has little dog bags for when your pup handles their business. I like thais place because it has 2 full basketball courts. My husband and I enjoy going shooting some hoops so we drive past plenty other parks to get to this one. There is plenty of parking space. Nice park to go, not too crowded. read more

I honestly love this park! It has an amazing view of the sight and city. My cousins birthday party was held here and it was super fun knowing this place is really quiet. Since i found out about this place thanks to my cousin, it was great use for a music video that a friend of mine and myself filmed there on tuesday. It was a perfect place to film and do some video shots it had an outstanding hang out ate. The room is huge for parties. Its a fun park to be in because it has its own baseball field which you normally dont see in any park and it has a basketball field. The downstairs part of the park is lovely too. Its also a perfect place for running.Plus, its super romantic. And the night time it looks super pretty. I highly recommend to come here. read more

This is a great park, it's pretty large and has several stair cases. It's a great place to bring your dog to go on a walk and because the area is so large and has some up and down hills, you can social distance from other people. They have many areas for shade and their parking is pretty big. read more

I went here to relax one day and this shady character came up to me asking how i was doing and tried offering me drugs. I said no thanks but he was pretty persistent about it. He then went into the public restroom to smoke meth. This all literally all happened! I haven't been back to this park since. I use to go here a lot to just overlook everything, hang with friends, and reflect on life. But I'm just scared that dude will show up again. Great park. Clean and well maintained. Dog friendly and most importantly stroller friendly. They have a lot of paved walkways that are perfect for jogs with the baby. Since the park is located on a hill, they have separated it into different zones, but all are connected and accessible with the paves trails. It gave me a decent workout being able to run laps and push the baby uphill. Only thing I wished they had were the baby friendly swings. I was able to locate a kids play area but only swings available where the regular ones that the kids can fly off of. read more

This park is pretty nice. Part of the park is pretty high up. At the swing set or underneath the canopy (I think that's what you call it), you can look to the West and see a great view of the neighborhood. It's great to look at the stars at night there. There's also a huge grass field on the lower level of the park, which is good for soccer. My friends and I played baseball here a few times. The major problem was that we kept hitting the ball far, going into the other field. It's bad if both fields are taken--both sides will keep getting in each others' games. Also, the amount of trees around the baseball fields here is nice; it blocks the sun from getting in our eyes. :) A good amount of people job here, even after sunset when I went. I consider it pretty safe, although there was an incident a few years ago where a girl from my school was attacked while walking towards Nogales in the morning. A severe event like this is typically unheard of at Shadow Oak. read more

This could be a great park...If it weren't for the fact that there are far too many rude dog owners that think the park is there for their dogs to use as a toilet. The city has provided poop bags at several locations throughout the park, but there is still dog feces nearly everywhere you look. I walk my dog every evening, and need to find a better place to go, at least until they come up with a way to either get keep it clean, or come up with a way to hold rude dog owners accountable for their litter. Dog feces is the leading cause of canine disease, specifically parvovirus. read more

This is a small, quiet park with a large hill. The hilltop provides excellent views of the surrounding areas. There are both stairs and ramps for climbing up the side of the hill. On the hilltop are two baseball fields, two basketball courts, a playground, and bbq grills. There are also good paths for running and jogging. The park is well-maintained and relatively clean. This park is beautiful! Let me start by saying that we are new to this part of town, and when my daughter's first birthday came around, I was not too excited about having a party at the park. Since our house was not big enough to host close to 80 people, we decided to have it at Shadow Oak. The views from the top area are amazing. We had her birthday in July, but there was a nice breeze there that kept it cool. There was plenty of space for tables, games and, kids to run around. The park is so big that we felt like we had it all to ourselves. The price was reasonable for the reservation, and the staff was friendly. You can even rent out the recreation room if you would like. We love this park and now regularly take our dog for walks there. There is also plenty of wildlife so if you have small dogs, beware of the coyotes, and skunks. There are rabbits and squirrels everywhere. This is by far the nicest park in West Covina. read more

WTF! The community restroom by the baseball fields is so disgusting, to bad I didn't have my phone with me. What a shame that their letting this park go! We pay are property taxes without question thinking its going to good use HELL NO its not, but the maintenance guy that was only hanging around sure is driving a brand new city truck!
