We had the raw tuna poke, burros, and tacos. Great wine. Cool atmosphere and decor. I recommend

Expectations were set high for a meal at La Querencia. The restaurant's chef is Miguel Angel Guerrero, the father of Baja Med cuisine -- which is influenced by Mediterranean, Mexican, and Asian cuisine. What I find intriguing is this chef is a hunter and a fisherman. What he catches is at times what is served in this restaurant. As with many restaurants these days, they grow the produce in their garden. It was quite the scene inside the restaurant. It was obvious that this place was the choice restaurant of well-to-do locals. You'll feel a buzz in the restaurant and notice the taxidermy in the restaurant. It is great for people watching. Maybe you'll see someone like Bono of U2, who was guest at his restaurant. We went with some of the recommended items off the menu. A couple of the dishes had the same flavors. I ordered the tacos and thought they were good. I have had better tacos in Tijuana for less money. My favorite of the evening was the recommended shot glass of fresh seafood. For a restaurant considered among the best in Tijuana, the service was sufficient. Not the service I would expect for this kind of restaurant in the States. If I compared to the service to Corazon de Tierra in Valle de Guadalupe, one of the best restaurants in Latin America, the service at La Querencia could use some improvement.

    Everything is awesome...

I had the shrimp tacos, delicious. It was cool to see the smoker grills they use to smoke the seafood. I haven't seen that in the states!

Absolutely amazing food! I come here every time I come to Tijuana. The tuna steak with avocado salsa is a dish I crave on a regular basis.

Good food but nothing outstanding. Price is in the high side to be in Mexico, will try a different place next time for sure.

The place itself is super pretty and very clean and comfortable. It is not cheap, but it is fairly priced. I put this in the fine dinning category. The service is perfect. Everyone is so very nice. You will be happy here. They have some of the best Italian pastas I have ever had. We love their PENNE A LA ARRABIATA and their FETUCCINNI CARBONARA. You might think you are in Italy. It is just so good. Their fish dishes are also great. We love the RISOTTO DE MARISCOS and their SALMÓN WELLINGTON. You just can't go wrong with anything you order. Their desserts are the bomb. They have a great corn cake and a wonderful chocolate mousse. At least one is a must. Have the best time.

The rest was mixed: * Penne Arrabbiata had decent flavor but was a bit dry. * Salmon Meunière was good, though the mashed potatoes were dry. * Pescado Fiorentina was very good and the standout among the mains. The full bar is great, but the wine selection is limited. A memorable stop with some highs and a few misses.
