Such a nice restaurant. Everyone was welcoming. Ocean vibes and lovely decor. The food was so delicious. Loved the ceviche and it hit the spot.

This is an excellent restaurant in a great neighborhood, serving top-notch seafood for about half what you'd pay for such beautiful (but less-inspired) seafood north of the border. Here's what we enjoyed so much that we'll be back again soon. ** FOOD ** Mixto Coctel: A truly delicious and pretty seafood cocktail (Mexican style, more like a soup thick with seafood and avacado than that US shrimp dippin' thing). The coctel contained shrimp, octopus, and a new one for me: callo de hacha. I had to look that one up -- it comes from something that looks like an ugly scallop or oversized abalone. Coctel came with crackers and tostadas. So good! Ensenada de Pescado: A far more flavorful and larger fish taco than you may be used to. There was a hot sauce the waitress warned us about that worked out nicely with it. Birria de Pescado: OK, when I think Birria, I think of a hearty stew involving goats or cows. In this case, it's big oblongs of tuna(?) simmered in birria sauce, making those oblongs soft hunks of flavor with plenty of adobada. It came topped with avacado and sauce, and was even bigger than the regular fish taco. ** DRINKS** Gin Tonic con Pepino: really refreshing with cucumber water Jarrito Veraniego: A beautiful painted clay jar with tequila and citrus juice, with a sour tamarind candy fused to a fork, which was great for nibbling on and stirring the drink. ** THE PLACE AND THE PEOPLE ** It's at the end corner of a strip mall, with inside and outside tables. Interior was super clean and pretty, with a gleaming counter at one end. The staff was very friendly and helpful, albiet only in Spanish, but you'll figure things out just by pointing. All told: we would have stayed and enjoyed more dishes for much longer, except there was much more eating to be done that TJ day! Gotta pace oneself.

Este Lugar Esta Muy Delicioso.Se los Recomiendo a todos que llegan a Tijuana. los Tragos estan para Quitar la Sed.

This is the server who demanded a tip paying with card...After we giving him cash! Then he shook his head in an upset manner.

The review is for dinner on November 9 and 815pm. Service deserves - 5 stars. The server wouldn't let us leave without leaving extra tip on the card after providing a cash tip and showing him the cash. He went on and tried to re swipe my card 3 times and show which tip option was avail on the card machine and made us feel bad that we didn't add extra tip!!! He should know that tip is an option not mandatory. Horrible service. And won't come back! After we gave him a percentage so we can finally leave the restaurant he shook his head in disbelief. He made our experience go from stellar to second class citizen real quick. If service is what you are expecting from this high end establishment that was raved about on EATER...Go elsewhere imo. It's too bad because I'm starting a new food tour company to bring Americans and tourist from all over the world to the wonderful city of TJ and enjoy the wonderful culinary scene here. This restaurant was on the list ...however it is no longer on my long list of places for the world to experience due to the service and the way the server treated us. Personal feel and opinion on the experience - Just because we are Americans we shouldn't be treated differently. Cmon..don't give the well known chef and the new amazing culinary scene in TJ a bad name and bring back the negative unfair reputation known for the old ways of treating foreign customers. This is the new TJ, not the old Mr. Server! For the record I've been in TJ every week for months creating relationships and visiting awesome restaurants all over TJ. NON of the restaurants, atleast 100, treated me like this. Shame on FOH management for allowing this to happen. Food was good. Ambiance is solid.

Best consomé de pescado I've had. Tacos were loaded with crispy shrimp. Ordered fish and chips to share with my son, was not disappointed, fish was flaky shoestring fries were crunchy in a good way.

I host a monthly dining event across the border and for January 2019's event we checked out Erizo. It is located in the walkable Gabilondo near several other great restaurants. I slammed this place with twenty plus diners and we had a fine dining experience. Erizo is one of the numerous creations of chef Javier Plascencia. It has a coastal vibe with typical Baja California fare. The menu is extensive and is around five pages. I had already scanned the menu online and was quick to pitch my order. I ordered a classic Margarita and three tacos: Gobernador, Marlin Ahumado and Camaron Enchilado. We enjoyed chips and salsa while we waited for our plates. The green salsa (with Serrano peppers I believe) especially stood out to us. It had some spiciness to it, but it wasn't ridiculously hot. My tacos were great and I would definitely order them again. About half through I ordered a glass of white wine (Casa Magoni) and surprisingly it went well with order. The service was good and the prices were on point for comparable places in the neighborhood. The establishment was very clean and seemed well maintained. If you are in Tijuana and want to try some good seafood check out Erizo.

I walked in here for lunch based on everything I know and enjoy about chef Javier Plascencia and how much I have enjoyed pretty much everything he's involved with. This is his mariscos place and so I finally made it in here, beautiful restaurant , looks small from outside but it's actually pretty big once you walk inside , they even have a small bar inside, beautiful decor , friendly waiters, quick service . I ordered up a couple of things in order to get a taste of as much as I could, I must say that the aguachiles were just out of this world , full of flavor , fresh , clean, amazing aguachiles . The taco de pescado was Baja California on a plate , the fish was cooked to perfection, full of explosive flavors, a must . The caldito de pescado , wow, super good, great flavor , I thoroughly enjoyed the caldito , the shrimp cocktail was also very good, fresh and plentiful . I'm glad I finally made it out here and will definitely be back, this is the place for mariscos here in Tijuana if you ask me .

I am a huge fan of Javier Plascencia and his culinary work as you can tell from my reviews here on Yelp and my dinning in his establishments all over Baja; however, I was severely under impressed with this location. They brought me a menu that was on a clipboard and was obviously printed so it could be changed frequently it was at least five pages long. I got very excited perusing the menu. I found so many things I wanted to order and got very excited that I was going to have a remarkable meal one that I am accustomed to in a Javier Plascencia establishment. The waiter showed up to take our order and literally everything that I wanted to eat they did not have. I am not talking about one or two items but many many things. With a clipboard computer printer menu it should be easy to actually present what you have available not a dream list. Once I have been told for the fifth or sixth time that an item I want to order is not available I have pretty much lost interest in dining in the establishment. But we did stay and order and simply were not impressed with the food we were served. I hate to say it but I probably would not return. The three stars are for the cocktail and non seafood items

We are trying to eat in as many places as possible in our tj trip and the gf wanted mariscos so we came here since it was near our hotel. We ordered the cebiche peruano and it was great, a bit spicy but thankfully I ordered the IPA beer called "Lupulosa"! The beer has a 7 % alcohol so definitely hot the spot i guess that is why im still on the table writing this. I noticed some yelp reviews complaining about the servers not being on top but by the time I wanted the check I made myself notice to ask for the check and they took no time is providing it to me so the service was good. Great ceciche, awesome beer and good service. 5 stars all the way.

Mixta para Picar Pulpo ,Camarón ,Callo de hacha - so good ! Ceviche verde Yum! Taco de pescado, Taco de Marlin, Taco Gobernador -- all was so delicious! Service was great & our was waitress was super nice, she helped use choose our food since it was our first time. We will definitely be back!

Shot de Erizo con huevo de codorniz! Sea urchin shot with quail egg!
    Alton H.

I am a huge fan of this place. It has replaced los Arcos as my go-to in Tijuana. This is my favorite Javier Plascencia restaurant because it takes something that I love, ceviche, and adds a distinctively Baja touch to the ingredient list. Plus, they host some cool events like the OaxaCalifornia Fest and invite awesome chefs from other places to mix it up with the local ingredients. Everytime I go, I have to order 2 tijuanero tacos. Octopus, shrimp and cecina (salty meat) on a vampiro style taco with cheese and lightly toasted on the grill so it is almost crispy. I got the sea scallop last time and loved it. During the OaxaCalifornia Fest they did tamales with mussles and a sea urchin taco that were 'de no mames' good. For the gluten free crowd, you have to order the 'leche de tigre' sea urchin and quail egg shot without the ponzu sauce. It doesn't say on the menu, but sneeks it in there. The place is busy and parking is tough sometimes. I was parking at the mall on the corner of Sonora and Aguas Calientes. It is cheap and i like to get a coffee at the starbucks before hitting the border line. Put this place on your list. It is worth the trip to TJ.

The restaurant is a large space with both indoor and outdoor seating, and the atmosphere is really cute and inviting. The service was excellent. Our waiter was attentive and checked on us throughout the meal. He even had a portable charger available for my phone, which was very convenient. What we ordered: *Aguachile Reina: This was delicious and had a little kick to it. If you're sensitive to spice, this might not be the best choice, but for those who enjoy a little spice, it's a great option. *Rock Shrimp: Absolutely phenomenal. This was probably one of my favorites of the night. The flavors were amazing, and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. *Tuna Tartare: Another delicious dish. The portion size was generous, and they bring out chips to enjoy with it. We also enjoyed tequila on the rocks. They have a large liquor and cocktail menu. The food came out in less than 10 minutes, and everything tasted fresh. This is definitely a spot I'd recommend checking out when you're in the area. The magnet to…read moreget here, was that I recently discovered they were the only restaurant that was advertising Puerto Nuevo lobster. So I got there on my first evening, and that's what I ordered. It took about 40 minutes to get to the table, but once it arrived, it was beautifully presented cooked optimally. The portion seemed a little smaller than I expected (came in only one 600 gm size). The lobster that was split in half sat on a moist bed of Spanish rice, came with refried beans and freshly grilled vegetables. See my pictures. The freshly made thin tortillas were superb, but one had to be careful or they would dry soon. After you finish, they give you an apperetiv, in a small cylindrical crystal glass. Basically, think of it like Kahlúa with milk, vanilla and ice. It was fantastic. The chips and salsas that preluded the main order were also superb. It is rarely and not always, that I go back to the same restaurant when I'm on a short trip. On top of that the next day? Yes, here it had to be the exception. So this second time, I was here to try the fish soup (exceptional) and the grilled loin of red snapper. I've heard of a pork loin, a beef loin, but this was a first. The entree is a large portion. A thick, succulent, colorful, well charred and grilled portion of seafood, with firm texture and spicy taste. Service here was high class, on both occasions.
