This was our second stop on our day trip in TJ. We wanted some aguachile and this place did not disappoint! We were given some chips and yummy salsa to start with. We also ordered ceviche peruano, and shrimp tacos. The aguachile was so beautifully presented- there was a rose avocado at the center of the plate and the shrimp was nicely butterflied. I would have liked it to be a bit spicier though! The ceviche and tacos were pretty good as well. For drinks, I opted for a cucumber agua fresca. It was huge and very refreshing. My friends wanted alcoholic drinks and got micheladas and a tamarind margarita instead. Overall, a good place to get your aguachile fix.

Fresh. Tasty. Would definitely return. COVID 19 protocols. Spanish and English speaking staff. Great drinks.

Every few weeks I take a group across the border to check out a few food and beverage spots that are highly acclaimed. After selecting the neighborhood and siphoning through reviews I decided on Puerto as the photos made the place very enticing. After noticing that some said the food orders came out on the slow side I decided that we would get there at opening. We got there at noon on a Saturday and had the place to ourselves, which was awesome. Puerto, being a seafood themed restaurant, had coastal decorations all over. The stairway going upstairs was much talked about as it had oyster shells netted against the wall. Thanks to Brad B's review and his rave of the Ahi Steak Burger I came in knowing what I wanted. A friend of mine wanted to split the Aguachile Mixto and I am glad we did. I am not sure the spices in it, but it had a nice kick to it. We enjoyed chips and salsa while we awaited out entrees. While all the salsas were good, I highly liked the creamy green one. After much anticipation my Ahi Burger arrived. It was perfectly dressed with fried onion strings, creamy avocado and a kind of chipotle mayo. It was incredible and the steak fries it came with were great as well. I had a margarita, which I wish was a bit bigger. Service was fine and I think the prices were right on. For example, my Ahi Steak Burger was around $10, but I imagine it would be around $15+ in California due to high costs of labor, rent, etc. Everyone in attendance loved what they ordered and I think they would do it all over again. And as I say about many places in Baja California I am already wanting to return.

Bad service when we arrive bartender(alexis) was seating at a chair inside the bar we order our drinks they lack on flavor the baetender made a few drinks squeezing out alcohol out of a plastic bottle he hear my comment about him not using the proper amounts and than he pulled out a jigger our appetizer was burn calamari was rubbery he place a trash can on top of the counter almost next to us the owner appear to be seating at the bar and did nothing they are trying to play fancy with their salsas but why have so many and they all lack on flavor Also bartender appear to be sick he sneezed and did not wash his hands this stop us from ordering food becareful not Covid 19 safe W

They are currently updating the whole place and the downstairs area is amazing! It all looks great! The drinks are delicious, I also got a lime margarita and it was super tasty! My group also tried the Tamarindo margarita, cucumber (pepino) margarita and the pepino martini, they all loved their drinks as well! The fresh oysters were perfect and their ceviche de atun de salsas negras was also perfect!

I've been eye f#cking Puerto Cocina Urbana's Instagram page for a few months now, (go look now), and I made a point of it being my first stop last weekend during a quick jaunt into Tijuana. You're going to have to know where you're going, speak decent Spanish if you opt for a taxi, or set the destination in your Uber app once you've crossed. No it's not walkable from the border crossing but is only a 7-10 minute drive once you land a car. Once you pull up you'll see that the building is beautiful, new, modern, and welcoming. Time to eat! Then language barrier is real though there are a few employees that speak some broken English. This is where my basic Spanish worked wonders but more importantly the food pics on Instagram served as our "picture menu" as there is no English anywhere in print. I feel like I went ahi crazy and ordered one of their ceviches with soy sauce that played a lot more like a poke. I loved it! The serving size was large and the dish itself was fish heavy with very little filler. Served with crackers or tostada shells... take your pick! The ahi burger was our most expensive item at about $9.00 and it was huge! This sandwich at home would ring in at $18.00 - $20.00 with the massive amount of fish that was loaded onto the bun. Topped with guacamole and served with a side of fries this one was a winner. I'll admit, I was pretty full when this "burger" came out so I ended up ditching the bun and devouring the fish. Now I know for next time! The bill arrived and for $40.00 we knocked out two vodka cocktails, one local beer, an ahi burger, the ahi ceviche/poke and some carnitas style pulpo. One of the pricier meals in Tijuana but absolutely worth it. I'd love to come back with friends for an end of the week happy hour, a birthday or hell, any reason at all. Oh, $0.50 oysters for happy hour... just sayin'.

Mmmm finally #lunchtime Marlin Enchiladas & marlin & octopus chicharron sopes

This is place is sooo good! I loved this place. I was warned that the service might be a bit slow but it was due to the fact that everything is made to order, well both time I been here it hasn't been slow but my friends and I have arrived before the place is packed. The local is very cute with outdoor sitting, and with this very hot fall we been having is a great place to get a table. The service has been good also, the first time the waiter was great (I wish I could remember his name), he asked what mood we were in, and he recommended accordingly. Both times I have ordered marlin enchiladas in red sauce, delicious. I've had the octopus chicharron and marlin sopes, also both a must try. The marlin tamales, a weird idea but amazing; the salmon tacos, also are a must try. They also have a good selection of craft beers, that go very good with the food. But if that isn't your thing they have a cucumber mojito, delish. Or try the mezcalitos, you won't regret it. This is a must try seafood place in Tj. It is a reminder why the city has become a culinary center.

This place checked all the boxes for me. Great ambiance--music, clean, with its laid back beach decor, you trully feel as if you are on vacation. Bathrooms are nicely kept, the servers were all knowledgeable and attentive...went above and beyond. Most importantly, the food was delicious! Quality, fresh, and tasty. Mmm..mm. Their beverage selection did not disappoint; from local craft brew (baja region and san diego breweries) with good range of beer styles to a fun selection of cocktails made with fresh ingredients. Def going back and taking all my seafood loving friends.

Alonso Rabelo the manager is great, speaks good English!!! Love this place, great Ceviches and tacos. I would suggest trying the Mango Jarrito, the candy straw it comes with is delightful

The restaurant is a large space with both indoor and outdoor seating, and the atmosphere is really cute and inviting. The service was excellent. Our waiter was attentive and checked on us throughout the meal. He even had a portable charger available for my phone, which was very convenient. What we ordered: *Aguachile Reina: This was delicious and had a little kick to it. If you're sensitive to spice, this might not be the best choice, but for those who enjoy a little spice, it's a great option. *Rock Shrimp: Absolutely phenomenal. This was probably one of my favorites of the night. The flavors were amazing, and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. *Tuna Tartare: Another delicious dish. The portion size was generous, and they bring out chips to enjoy with it. We also enjoyed tequila on the rocks. They have a large liquor and cocktail menu. The food came out in less than 10 minutes, and everything tasted fresh. This is definitely a spot I'd recommend checking out when you're in the area. It took about 40 minutes to get to the table, but once it arrived, it was beautifully presented cooked optimally. The portion seemed a little smaller than I expected (came in only one 600 gm size). The lobster that was split in half sat on a moist bed of Spanish rice, came with refried beans and freshly grilled vegetables. See my pictures. The freshly made thin tortillas were superb, but one had to be careful or they would dry soon. After you finish, they give you an apperetiv, in a small cylindrical crystal glass. Basically, think of it like Kahlúa with milk, vanilla and ice. It was fantastic. The chips and salsas that preluded the main order were also superb. It is rarely and not always, that I go back to the same restaurant when I'm on a short trip. On top of that the next day? Yes, here it had to be the exception. So this second time, I was here to try the fish soup (exceptional) and the grilled loin of red snapper. I've heard of a pork loin, a beef loin, but this was a first. The entree is a large portion. A thick, succulent, colorful, well charred and grilled portion of seafood, with firm texture and spicy taste. Service here was high class, on both occasions.
