This hotel is convenient to the 99 and there are several eateries within walking distance. I arrived right at sunset and was greeted walking in by the front desk, checking in was straight forward and easy. Third floor a comfortable king room with a large seating area and pullout sofa. The bathroom area spacious and well lit, clean and bright with plenty of hot water in the morning. USB plug ins everywhere around the room made charging devices easy. Came for one night, did not have a jacuzzi tub in room as perceived on the site. The front desk girl was polite but not accommodating. Then, I decided to use the outdoor jacuzzi, changed into my suit, and stepped into an ice bath. Same front desk girl said they've been having problems with it but that maintenance went home. Also, no manager on site. When asked for an upgraded room due to inconvenience, there were no accommodations even though we were only there for a night. Very, very disappointed and this ruins La Quinta's future stays for us. This is the Fowler La Quinta by the way. I'm sure not all are like that so please don't judge all La Quinta's. Stayed there for one night due to work. Tina Maynard the wonderful lady at the front desk was very friendly and thoughtful for our stay. While I was only there there less than 12 hours she helped find a nice restaurant at cattlemen's and since we stayed there she notified us that staying there gave us 10% off our meal. Clean, updated, conveniently located right off the 99. Several dining options within walking distance (Dennys, Carls, Quiznos, Starbucks). Young lady at front desk was courteous and quick for checking in. They are pet friendly allowing our dog to stay with us. Towels were extremely worn and rough, would have better luck getting dry using toilet paper. Found 2 earwigs crawling in room, they were friendly though. It was ok for a hotel until they with no mention until two hours before check out we are asked to leave. They tell us that we have to be out a hour early and that the contract we signed and the check out time on the door do not matter they just changed it and we can get out. While it might be the only place in Fowler, you can't have a better check in and friendly service even in friendly Fresno! Tina at the front desk took care of us, was helpful and understanding. This was my first time staying at a La Quinta Inn & Suites. It is located just off the highway but close enough to some other restaurants and stores that you can pick up anything you may have forgotten if you flew in. They have a really nice continental breakfast, included as part of your stay, with news papers available for reading. Of course the guest I was with went straight for the waffle maker which seems to be the most popular station. The room accommodations were very nice, decor modern and cleanliness up to my standards. We only stayed here for a few nights but the staff was very courteous and accommodating to any need or concern you would have. read more

My stay here was a very nice experience. I came in for a wedding weekend and felt very welcomed. The front desk was so professional. I loved that they had coffee 24/7 and breakfast was also delicious. The breakfast was being monitored and even on a Saturday morning it was very neat and clean. There was easy access to the pool and even after staying there past pool hours we didn't get kicked out. I was really disappointed in with my recent stay here. Everything from the booking to the room was disappointing. First, I reserved my room over the phone. At the time, they said their server was down and unable to email me a copy of my reservation. When I called a few days later to have it emailed to me, they had increased the nightly rate by $30. When I asked why, they said that the owner reserves the right to change the price at any time, and since it was a busy weekend and they were running low on rooms, they decided to increase the price. I was told the only way to lock in a price is to book online. I wasn't told this at booking, which I think should be disclosed. It's not right to make a reservation at one price point and then find out later that it's $30 more. I spoke to servers employees that said this was their standard practice and there's nothing wrong with it.... Checking was difficult, because they lock the front doors and you have to call the front desk. There was no employee insight, and after 6 minutes an employee appeared and answered and we were finally allowed in and able to start checking in. The room... yuck. We stayed in a king suite with a pull out couch. After pulling back the blankets we found remnants of marijuana in bed. There was a men's dirty black sock in the bathroom laying under the vanity. The walls between the bed and pullout couch had tons of thick black scuff marks. The cushions of the couch with covered in stains. So was the mattress! The sheets provided also had a lot of stains. Back in 2016- 2019, I stayed here frequently. It was really disappointing to see the major decline in the property. The cleaning, or lack there of, is especially disgusting since during this time of Covid-19, cleaning standards are at an all time high. I will not be staying here again. I think staying in Fresno (plus a cheaper rate!) or Kingsburg is well worth the drive then staying in this dirty place. read more

They ALLOW DOGS SMALL & LARGE but the color scheme in the rooms is OUT DATED and gives it a DIRTY APPEARANCE doing no justice at all for what it could be . Arrived on Friday at 3:10pm. Lots of free parking available around the hotel, but the front entrance is near a Denny's so some spaces are for Denny's-only customers; this Denny's is open 24 hours a day :) yay. Check-in took like 1 minutes (no one was in line); employees were friendly and nice. My room was on the 3rd floor (topmost floor). My view was of spaced out farm houses that look abadoned (the city of Fowler feels like a small town). What sucks is that my room was right next to the elevator so whenever anyone went to the 3rd floor, there was a really loud *ding*. Luckily, half of the rooms on my floor were vacant (~10 out of 20 rooms). I can tell that the occupied rooms were staggered (meaning that the rooms directly adjacent to me were unoccupied based on the emptiness of "Do Not Disturb" doortags....So, I can't really comment if "walls are super thin that I can hear my neighbor" from other reviews. I loved the big refrigerator (~4-foot tall fridge) and microwave in my room; however, my refrigerator's freezer section had a chocolate stains from like ice cream (I'm thinking refrigerator was not cleaned). Other than the fridge, everything else seemed clean (floors vacuumed, countertops wiped, bedsheets washed). Pros: My favorite part of my stay was the complimentary breakfast (open 7am sharp! until 10am), which features sausage, eggs, bagels and toast with cream cheese and butter, waffle maker, cereal (fruit loops, cheerios, and raisan-brand?), orange juice, apple juice, water, Yoplait yogurt. Free coffee and water is available all day in the lobby. I also loved that the TV in the room is Infinity (Spectrum) and has so many channels (I think like 300? includes some HBO channels too haha) on a big 20-inch TV flatscreen. Cons: room looks outdated (bathroom floors and tub look 20 years old). Sofa chair looked old too. I really can't complain because this is an advertised 2-star hotel, and my rating is based on it being that. I hate that other Yelp reviews rate this hotel as if it were a 3- or 4-star hotel (then I suggest you pay more at nearby DoubleTree Hilton which would've costed me 3x the price!). I paid $80/night for a 2-night stay on Friday-Sunday. For a 2-star hotel, the price was definitely worth it. Overall, I would definitely come back here. I drove from Southern California for a wedding in Fresno (and downtown Fresno is not a good neighborhood - crimes everywhere and lots of homeless). Worst motel I've ever stayed at. Lack of management and staff is painfully obvious. The man who seemed to be in charge should be working at a gas station not the hospitality business. Arrived 30 minutes before check in hoping we could freshen up for a wedding but since the motel was short staffed that day had to wait until close to 4pm. Room smelled like BO and cigarettes and was supposedly just cleaned. TV did not work. I could go on forever baby (home alone movie voice). One I spoke to a person named Gabby who seemed to have no type of knowledge about this "hotel" on top of that I received attitude when I asked if there was a room with a jacuzzi . To clarify what is the issue. They said we were smoking in the room. So let me get this straight. Obviously it was a non smoking room. IM SURE you have video footage of us walking outside NUMEROUS TIMES to go smoke . NOT JUST THAT we were conversing with your front desk Dwayne who was on his break smoking as well. SO PLEASE EXPLAIN if we wanted to smoke in the room... don't you think we wouldn't even bother going outside to do so? Maybe you had seen some left over tobacco that we had left on the desk from a swisher but now you want to say there's ASHES in the room? It doesn't explain the smell. Clearly we smoke so of course maybe the smell rubbed off. I asked to speak to a manager. And I'm NOT stupid. I clearly heard the guy who I spoke with whisper what to tell me. Well I got a free night in La Quinta through their rewards program and elected to stay in Fowler. Just a few miles from Fresno. This is a brand new Hotel and just next to the 99 freeway. Very friendly staff and beautiful new rooms, I will have to come back here again. I like this place. There is free internet and direct TV on a flat screen. If possible this is where I always stay when I go up or down the 5. I don't I think it's a good price and I've always felt super safe. Everyone at the front desk is fun to talk to and have occasionally snuck me an early oatmeal at 3am because I have insomnia. They also have side entrances on the bottom floor and I love that so I can sneak out in my PJs and get something out of my car and sneak back in. Also, and I know this is stupid, but I just really love their mascot guy. Putting the key in always makes me smile because of that. read more

This is my 2nd time staying. And I'm choosing it again and again. I like to visit this cat sanctuary in Parlier and they recommended me this hotel. I don't regret it. At soon as I check in the staff was very courteous and helpful. Rooms very neat, ac worked perfect compared to the 100 degrees outside. Buffet breakfast was hot and delicious. I would love to keep this short, but I feel its very important to make aware all prospective folks how filthy, yes filthy this hotel is before they settle w/their little ones or simply spend money as I did for a disgusting and unpleasant stay such as the experience I had...so here are the pros and cons: Pros: =Attentive service (I needed a new iron since the 1 in my room was broken and old and it was replaced with in 15min of me requesting a swap. =Its adjacent to a gas station, highway, and starbucks. Cons: =Filthy rooms; spilled liquids inside fridge, 1 thin bed sheet between you and a the mattress where bodily fluids, food, and all else gets absorbed...same w/pancake pillows only 1 yes 1 pillow sheet that's lacking a protector...you can see the stains on pillows btw. =Bed sheet did not fit bed...when I tried to adjust it by corner, noticed a brown/purple-red stain that looked like dry blood. =Pillows are 3 inches thick, stained, and very small; flat. =Ironing board cover was dirty and stained. =Unlike other hotels, no lotion or conditioner was provided (not 1oz lol). =Dirty microwave w/stuck on food. =Phones are grimy, very filthy..even after I sprayed Lysol and wiped down...baby wipes were brown ugh. =Bed comforter had holes...maybe cigarette burns idk =Tv wall mount did NOT adjust...so even though it could at 1 point it just didn't work or was permanently locked so it could not be adjusted. =Thin walls, you could hear folks in their rooms when you passed by. =Hairs all over the tub and stuck on shower curtain. =Desk chairs were run down, stained and had rips and holes. =I requested extra pillow cases so housekeeping can double layer my pillows since they were 1 thin case away from my face touching dirty pillows...but she just gave me the pillow cases instead of offering to put them on I gues because my family was still inside (we stayed both nights). =Breakfast was not great. beverges were not kept cool...sausages looked gross...unsafe temp to consume. eggs too. This was the worst hotel I've ever been to. The drain was beyond clogged in the bathtub, the pillows looked like they were 30 years old, and top it off, the bedding had blood stains on them. 4th of July weekend. Some miscommunication happened and we made reservations for Monday the 4th. Turns out the little shindig we where told about actually started that Saturday. My wife immediately called this hotel and told Katie our predicament. We had to cancel and asked if they had a room for that night. Unfortunately they where all booked up but Katie promised that if they had a cancellation she would give us a call. A couple of hours we got the call and she had a room for us! We have two teenage sons and the room only had one king size bed so Katie did what she could and got us two store away beds and promised to only charge us for one. If it wasn't for Katie and her hard work we probably wouldn't have been able to have a great 4th of July weekend. We would have had to drive back and fourth from the Bay Area to Selma. The only negative and this has no reflection on Katie... we where on the third floor and that floors ice machine is broken and had to go to the second floor for ice and no vending machines on any floor. You had to go to the little shop downstairs and they didn't have any diet drinks or water. It sucked for me because I am a diabetic... Other than that this is a great hotel in the area just make sure you bring any drinks you might need with you from the local grocery store. read more

I ended up having a last minute guest and they were kind enough to bring and extra bed and bedding to the room. We love it here! We stayed on our way up to Kings Canyon over Memorial weekend. As always we choose La Quinta because we can bring our dog ;) The place was great as always! And the staff was very accommodating! Part way through our trip there was a storm, we called La Quinta, and we were able to secure a last minute room for one night, and ended up staying 2 more! ;). I've live in the area but I've stayed here on several occasions and I automatically suggest it to visiting family and friends. We originally started going here because they're the only hotel in the immediate area that allows animals (that I know of), but we've had pretty good experiences here so this is still our go to. In fact, I'm here right now using it as part of a staycation. The front desk staff is always super friendly and accommodating. My only, minor, grievance is with the cleaning staff. There's been several times check ins didn't happen on time because cleaning staff had yet to/were still cleaning a room and had no appearent since of urgancy. Not a HUGE deal but is very off putting when you've just drive up from SoCal and want nothing more than to shower and sleep. I'd also suggest checking the mini fridge and microwave because on more than one occasion we've found rotting food in one or the other. Again, not a huge deal but a tiny detail makes a huge difference. read more

This is our second time staying here and I have to say it has gone downhill. The service was horrible. When we called to inform front desk that there were ants all along the wall and covering my 1 year olds pack n play, they said they didn't know what I wanted then to do he was by himself. Eventually we got a new room. But the worst of our stay is the fact that myself and my 1 year old were attacked by bed bugs!!! I found them in the second room as well as the first. My family and I stayed her while in a nearby town for a wedding. We arrived earlier than expected so I called the hotel to ask if there was a way we could check in before 3:00. The lady who answered the phone was so nice and friendly and not only said we could check in early but also asked me where I wanted my room. We arrived and were impressed by how nice and clean the place is. Rooms are a good size and you can't beat having DirecTv. Its not a huge hotel but is fairly new so you don't have to worry about ugly carpet stains or weird smelling rooms. Rates are good and if you have AAA discount they're even better. It is conveniently located right off the fwy and even though we stayed on the 1st floor we had no issue with freeway noise. Like none! There's a Starbucks, McDonald's, gas stations and other fast food places within walking distance which was also really nice. Free breakfast is standard but delicious nonetheless. I'd definitely stay here again and La Quinta hotels has a new fan. read more

The hotel is pretty clean for the most part but the jacuzzi had trash in it for awhile because the trash can blew over and we seen mice run across into the building wall. We went swimming at night and a few homeless people went trash digging in the pool trash can. There were a few cops during the day that went circling the hotel not sure if the area is bad or what was going on but made me feel uncomfortable. Now for the good part. The maid service is very nice. The front desk is never there they are always in the back and you have to ring the bell. But they friendly. The laundry room is alright the dryer does not dry very well. But overall I have to say i wouldn't mind staying here but it wouldn't be my first choice in Fowler. read more
