This was the last stop on a four day college tour with my granddaughter and I'm glad it was the last because it wasn't good. The first person who greeted me was okay, and the bartender was okay - but after that it went downhill FAST. We had gone to bed early - after a dinner that was notable in that we thought it was a recommended one that was close - but it was a ways away on the freeway. Not a big deal, but curious. Once we headed up to bed it was like a circus started. There were young kids running along hallway, screaming, etc. After 9 it turned into a super noisy bath - felt like it was in our room and was loud, and the water seemed to go on forever. I'm not sure of the correlation, but this morning all we wanted was a hot shower before we hit the road - water ran, ran, ran - no hot water. Called down and was told - and I'm not making this up - we can move you to another room if you want a shower. I kind of thought that was the epitome of how to not deal with a customer, but then when I mentioned the kids making noise the comment was "well, you didn't call last night so we didn't know it was noisy". Yup - that is right. I should have but instead I tried the softer way by opening the door and asking if they could be quiet. read more

Came here after the Big E. Not sure if I would stay here again. The bathroom could really use some updates. The tub creaked as I took my shower. I also had some issues with the water temperature going from hot to scalding! For some weird reason, my card key never worked. It would light up as green, but the lock wouldn't unlock. If you're a light sleeper, bring ear plugs due to the proximity to the freeway. Biggest complaint was the bed. It wasn't comfy as I could feel the springs in the mattress. Also, housekeeping came knocking on the door for service at 8:30am, despite having the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door. read more

Only putting a star since you can't post without one. WORST PLACE TO STAY! They advertise they are pet friendly, which is great for those traveling with fur babies. But when you have to spend the night in a room that smells like a dog kennel, there is a hairball so big in the sink that water takes 30 minutes to drain, and there is cat litter on the bathroom floor, not good at all! No amount of febreeze can get that smell out! Ugh! No other rooms available either. Just plain gross! read more

So my husband and I have stayed at the Wyndham La Quinta Springfield multiple times. It's close to downtown Springfield where we visit a local establishment call Dewey's. It's a quick ride from Boston and a nice overnight for a Friday or Saturday night date night. Additionally, it's a little over two hours from New York City so you can drive a quick ride down. Spend the day in the city shop a little, have some food and then come back to La Quinta so that you're only an hour and some change away from home if you live in Massachusetts. Check in and check out are always efficient. Our room is always really clean. Simple,classic, and clean hotel that you can stay in for one night or multiple and feel comfy. Now don't go in expecting the Hilton(where we primarily stay when traveling), however, you do get a clean space with decent, amenities, and Dove brand body care. Try them out and save a few bucks if you're a Wyndham rewards member. Points add up quickly and my last stay was completely free from using the Wyndham rewards credit card for a prior vacay stay. read more

What an absolute joke of an establishment. Rooms are there, seemingly clean, and fair, but golly the rest of the experience has been an absolute nightmare. When we tried to check-in... "sorry, tee-hee, the computer is down, come back later"? We come back later... "sorry, still down" *big shrug*. Compensation? Maybe a free drink? Naw, they just laughed at us. The bartender got offended we didn't want to talk (after driving 6+ hours) when we were standing in a corner by ourselves... and then proceeded to bad mouth us so everyone could hear (I just said "no, thank you") and I also overheard them say "the system is down every Sunday...". I'm sure this would not happen terribly often, but there is no plan? This is the best they can do? Wait around an hour and maybe things will work? I don't really know where to start. I was forced to give this hotel one star in order to place this review but I do not feel it is at all deserved. A lot of my complaints they would say are due to Covid restrictions... I feel like they are worth mentioning though because they didn't warn me beforehand about what I would be experiencing upon arrival. To start, the staff at this hotel was not pleasant at all. If you are going to hire a hostess or a host you should make sure they have people skills. So I didn't like interacting with them. The breakfast they mentioned as one of their amenities was literally a brown paper bag with a muffin, a bottle of water and a granola bar. Again, don't boast about a continental breakfast and proceed to provide a brown paper bag instead. I understand it's likely due to Covid but that should be mentioned beforehand. There is nowhere around the hotel to eat except for a Dunkin Donuts with extremely weird hours. (They were closed at 9 p.m.) You can only use the pool for 45 minutes A DAY assuming you sign up beforehand and reserve your time. Again, that wasn't mentioned beforehand or conveniently left out. Their "arcade" consisted of 3 games and one air hockey table. They don't know what an arcade is. The gym looked really nice through the window but my card didn't work to give me access so I was never able to use it during my entire stay. We stayed there for 2 days and no one cleaned the room and we received no towels On our second day. The room smelled like cigarette smoke even though they claim it's a nonsmoking hotel. Obviously it's not. The elevators were scary ... we actually got stuck in one for about 10 - 15 minutes. Repeatedly pressing the button had no effect on it. It was just a very disappointing experience and kind of pricey... we paid $159 a night for that. They have a lot of nerve. I won't stay here again and I would never recommend them to anyone I know or like. read more

This is an update to my previous review: The only good thing about this hotel stay was the manager (Christina) adjusted the nightly rates by $40 a night for each room. Personally, as a manager and business owner I would have offered a free night however I was happy that I didn't need to have a further discussion with her and that the front desk kept her up to date. She had the adjustments ready for me as soon as I walked to the front desk and was very apologetic and kind when dealing with me. After I spoke to the supervisor (Thalia, I believe) on day 2, and mentioned that they didn't clean the mold she must have sent someone up when she saw me leave for dinner because it literally sparkled when I got back. I had to do a double take because I didn't expect it at that point since my room didn't have housekeeping service during my stay and they didn't clean it the first time. If I can I will post a picture, now if they can just keep it that clean no one will complain. It's a really easy solution... But they need to change their housekeeping system which I will contact the owners regarding. It is a privately owned franchise, so I know the challenges that come from dealing with the owners concerning staffing concerns, etc. I will be contacting them directly. I may update this review based on my experience with them. Christina, Thalia (I believe I am spelling her name correctly, I took a brief peak at the name tag) and the front desk crew provided me personally with exceptional care and they alone deserve 4 stars just based on empathy and a listening ear alone. Not one time did I feel like they didn't actually care, even after the crazy busy check in/check out that I witnessed earlier in the day. Life Tip: speak to them like they are human because they are! I say this because I was really upset with the attitude of another guest who was checking in and had an issue regarding a policy. Being a jerk will get you nowhere in life. Ok... Lol Anyway, the hotel function as a whole at this point in time is only worthy of 3 stars maximum. At least for the next few weeks (the Big E Is there, PLUS it takes a few weeks to get a good flow going from new training, etc), Please do not expect a 4 star hotel experience, unless you are used to 2 star hotels... In that case - you will be more than impressed but if you are used to 4 and 5 stars hotels like I am, this will not meet your expectations and you will be sorely disappointed. 3 at best currently. read more

They had to change my room because the heater wasn't working. That was ok. The guy who came to check it was very nice. However, while I'm in the bathroom getting undress to take a shower, another customer is trying to get in my room!!' I call the front desk immediately. After waiting 25 minutes for them to take me off hold the front desk clerk (a woman) had an attitude with me. As if I shouldn't be concerned. No apologies for giving another customer a key to my room. She was rude and nasty. I asked for the manger's name and she was still rude. This is a hotel in Springfield MA. Nothing bad about it. Easy location. Easy parking, and well lit back entrance if you park in the back. The elevators are well located. The room was large, the bed comfortable and the shower terrific. All in all I'd consider staying here again if in the area. For our family LaQuita is our hotel of choice ALWAYS. They have a great pet policy. No extra pet fees and dogs are always welcomed. Throughout the country they are working on updating them. The one in Springfield is updated. Yea! It is an interesting building. It has more floors than most. The hallways are more retro, but rooms are more modern. The front staff is great. We ran into other staff members as well who were welcoming and friendly as well. They have a bar in the lobby as well as a light menu offered in the evening hours. They have an indoor pool. Nothing special, but a nice size for an indoor pool. Breakfast is offered as well. They have fitness center that is better equipped than most hotels who say they have a fitness center. You know what I am talking about. They have a full set of free weights, treadmills, ellipticals, weighted balls, recumbent bike, TV's, pulley system, etc. The bed and bedding was great. Bathroom a little tight for two, but fine for one. Clean and ready for us to fall into. Pardon me...zzzzzzzzzzzzz. They didn't let us down. read more

After spending a long day at Six flags I knew that my family would be too exhausted to travel the 2 hours and 45 minutes home to NH, so I booked a hotel room here. We booked the room with 2 queen bed that had a sleeper sofa and mini fridge. I called ahead and asked for a late check in. No problem. We arrived at about 10pm. Check in was fast and painless. The man at the front desk was very friendly. We were directed to the location of our room and told that there would be free breakfast in the lobby in the morning. Our room was clean and spacious. We did have to ask for an extra blanket as the one which is customarily left in the closet was not there. The only other thing was that there is no form of ventilation in the bathroom so mold was spotted on the ceiling and the tub drain was very slow. Showering in standing water is never enjoyable. We were a party of 6 and only had 3 towels and one tiny bottle of shampoo. Maybe this is normal? Breakfast was good. It got very busy and families had to eat at tables by the bar in the front. They had bagels, toast, french toast sticks, sausage links, oatmeal, make your own waffles, fruit salad, hard boiled eggs, cereals, juices, milk, tea and coffee. Check out was a breeze. Though they do hold your account for an additional $25 for 3-5 business days, so plan on that. All in all a nice stay. I would stay here again on another trip to Six Flags. read more

Meal kits for breakfast? No coffee? Coffee pot in the room but no water to make it or and powdered cream. Not our idea of breakfast at a $180 a night hotel. No early check in either . It's like the Salvation Army hotel here. Most of the staff was friendly . The room was half nice the couch and sitting chair aloud them to call it a suite. Only problem was the couch was Orange and the cushions were brown and yellow, yes two different colors. You definitely would not like to sit here. Of course covid is the new excuse but in the pool area covid doesn't exist indoors with every one really close together no six foot rules no masks either. So if The Basketball Hall of Fame is your destination skip this place for your stay don't disappoint yourself or your family!!! read more

This is a very nice and clean hotel. The staff is very nice and helpful and the beds are unbelievably comfortable. The breakfast area is a little small, but there are many options for breakfast. One thing that wasn't good about this hotel is that you can hear people through the walls. Late at night there were children and a dog making noise in the room next to us and clapping. We called the front desk who said they would take care of it, but it wasn't really taken care of. We ended up falling asleep to the noises. During lunch I called and asked for an early checkin. The staff reassured me that would be no problem. The location is very convenient to a lot of local venues. We were very pleased upon entering the lobby. We never stayed in La Quinta hotels previously, so we didn't know what to expect. The service was great and they provided me with a military discount! The rooms are comfortable and a pleasure to spend time in. The continental breakfast was good as well. The big bonus with the kids was the indoor pool. Great bonus. The only downside was the other guests in the hotel. Overall, we would stay here again and will look into staying at other La Quinta hotels. read more

Coming from a person who used to work front desk at a hotel, this place is absolute trash. Only stay here if you absolutely have to. 1). Bed bugs. Night auditor won't be curly hair and pretty eyes changed my room fast. Very sweet. I hope you randomly find $100 somewhere. 2). Keys deactivated for no reason. They said it was because we "put it near a magnet & phone". All 3 of our room keys got deactivated. 2/3 of us had it nowhere near a phone or magnet. BS. They probably encoded all of our keys for the wrong dates. 3). Customer service was AWFUL. When I went to get new keys, there were 2 people at the front desk. One guy was on the phone, while the other was eating her take-out at the front desk. Anyways, I went up, and since the one guy was on the phone, I went to the other girl who was eating. Wasn't sure if she was on lunch or not, but if she was, no biggie. She just stared at me. Didn't even acknowledge me. Just kept eating her food. Alright. So the other guy, who was still on the phone, waved me over and gave me new keys. 4). AGAIN with the customer service. I called back to have folios sent to me as I had never received them via email. The agent couldn't find my reservation under my name for a few minutes so I gave them the confirmation # instead. When she finally found it through the #, she was absolutely full of attitude like it was my fault? I told her I had called before check-in to ADD a name to the reservation not to CHANGE it (I was very specific) so I don't know why it was changed. (I needed someone else to check in for me as my flight was landing past check in time). She told me in a rude tone "idk but we can't change 3rd party reservation names". Which again, BS, because I have the confirmation with MY name on it. And when I had called before check-in, I had given the agent MY name and she had found it. I know hotel systems, you can most definitely change them. I've stayed at many hotels as well, and this place is in my top 3 worst hotels list for sure. read more

I was given a room on the first floor right off the front lobby and near an exit door, handicapped, which surprised the person at the front desk. It had a broken thermostat, which didn't surprise the front desk person - she said a lot of the thermostat units weren't working properly - so I was put in the room next door. In addition to the sticky floors in the room (and everywhere else I walked), it was incredibly noisy. I had in earplugs, had the AC and fan running on constant, and all I heard were people walking around all night and doors slamming. Asked to change rooms with the new front desk person, and was told I couldn't. Never staying here again. read more

Check in was fast and efficient, thankful they had luggage carts because we were traveling with dogs and all of our "stuff" for a four day dog show at Eastern States Expo grounds. First three nights were uneventful, and location is perfect for folks attending dog shows - can quickly and easily return to hotel if necessary between judging to rest instead of staying on show grounds. Final night of the stay was what I'll call a Covid spreading shitshow. Apparently there was a party in several rooms on the floor above us and staff did nothing to prevent it. We were walking towards the elevator with our dogs and heard screaming, and yelling coming from the elevator area. As the elevator starts to open we hear what sounds like a fight, so we hightailed it back towards the room and were ready to get in the room if anyone came around the corner. Went back to elevator and as the doors opened into the lobby we hear more yelling and as we walk outside there are four police cars, as well as several people driving like they were racing, with no headlights, hauling ass out of the parking area. I quickly walked my dog and went back to the room, but was not feeling safe at all. Not how we wanted to spend our final night in Massachusetts, and we will definitely keep this event in mind when making decisions regarding hotels when returning to the area for dog shows. Disappointed that the staff did nothing to prevent this issue and keep other guests safe. read more

Just checked in late (10p). This hotel just off major highway. Avis/Budget rental is attached to the hotel and parking lot is jammed with cars. Small spots also. Not ideal. There's some big party (I think a quincinera maybe) going on downstairs and spilled into lobby. Not my idea of peace and quiet. This place is just hectic as hell. ROOM: I would describe 'efficient space' for our family of five. Daughter stuck on sofa sleeper but it is nice queen size and mattress comfy. Bathroom is TIGHT. More later... UPDATE (post-stay): this place just 'all right'. It was strictly a night's rest since we drove up late. Walls were THIN. We could hear the conversation next door. Luckily they were not party-goers lol. Slept well - comfy beds and bedding. Daughter stated queen pullout sofa had good support. The bathroom was TIGHT (I reached my arms up to stretch and hit the ceiling! I'm only 5'4"!). Breakfast was a little chaotic even though the dining area had lots of seating, you kept bumping into people while getting food. Usual powdered eggs, greasy sausage, breads, cereals etc. Decent waffle makers. OVERALL: solid 3 stars. Not so bad that I wouldn't stay here again but if I have other choices I'd go elsewhere until they get rid of car rental parking issue and thin walls. read more

I had a bad experience at this hotel. Having lost my credit card, and only having $150 on me, the hotel's management would not allow me to stay by giving them a $150 deposit. I felt like I was not treated like a person. I lost $100 because of the transaction. I suggest not staying here. I stayed at the nearby Best Western and was very happy with it, and they understood my situation and did not require a $250 deposit. They did absolutely nothing to try to accommodate me. read more

We had a clean, spacious room with 2 comfy queen size beds. Accepts dogs. Indoor pool, small game room & small laundry on main floor. The hotel bar served delicious food for a decent price. Coffee available in the lobby all day. Breakfast buffet in the morning fully staffed to ensure you didn't wait for refills. Bathrooms are tight but clean. Tons of parking. Hotel was clean for as busy as they were during the week. Had a lot of sports teams coming thru which meant a lot of kids. The kitchen staff were extremely patient and helpful. They kept the food well stocked even when 50 kids besieged them. The rooms were comfortable. The only feedback was spiderwebs above curtains and curtains could use a laundering. Nice staff.Especially the guy who works at night. However as an earlier review stated, The hotel seems to have no ventilation. Was going to get into the swimming pool however the ceiling was dripping water which was odd. You can see mold at the bottom of some of the walls. And the ground around the pool was very dirty and wet Bear in mind that this was 7 AM in the morning when no one had used the pool yet. No ventilation in the bathrooms either. Has the potential to be a really nice hotel.Hotel is in a decent area not too far from the basketball Hall of Fame. If the ventilation was fixed I would stay there again. read more
