This is a great Hilton Garden Inn. I stayed here three weeks for a work project (no weekends). The staff is really nice. The wait staff for breakfast, front desk staff, even employees I encountered (I didn't ask their job function) always greeted me or held the elevator open for me while I wheeled my suitcase in. The last week of my stay, I asked to change rooms due to what I thought was cigarette smoke lingering in the room. I know it's a nonsmoking hotel, but not everyone follows the rules. The front desk staff was so accommodating getting me another room. Every room I had was clean. The attached restaurant is the Uno pizzeria. Very convenient. There are also several other good restaurants nearby! As a woman traveling alone and who is concerned about personal safety, security was visible and constant. At all hours of the day, even 3:30am catching my flight out. I felt very safe here. I thought the service and security here were impeccable. This is a hotel I will heart in the Hilton app as a loyal diamond member. I highly recommend!

My name is Bernard Belley & I am a diamond member with the Hilton Brand. I stay at the Hilton brand well over 50 nights a year and I really love great service. The Hilton Garden Inn in Springfield is a gem when it comes to providing a comforting, relaxing, homelike atmosphere. Over the last three years I have returned to this property and I've always been greeted with a smile from Sarah at the front desk. She is absolutely a pleasure to work with. Marisela is just as wonderful, too! Everything from my free parking experience, check in experience, and housekeeping experience has been great each time I return. Every morning it seems the all-star breakfast crew is on whether that be prompt, intuitive service from Lake, or the excellent omelettes made in the kitchen! Thank you Hilton Garden Inn Springfield! I appreciate your attention to service! In a world where the details are everything, it really goes to show that your staff strives for a higher standard of service.

This hotel is right behind the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in a small town called Springfield. It's 1 mile away from the train station which is about a 22-minute walk. Also in the same parking lot are UNO Pizza, Plan B Burger, Max Tavern, etc. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The lobby is very modern, clean and cute so are the rooms. Their motif is flowers and designs in purple, gray and lime green. Toiletries are from Bath and Body Works. The room was spacious and quiet, and the bed was comfortable. The rate I got was $150/night. Wifi is free in the lobby and inside the room. They have a pool, jacuzzi and a fitness area. If you need a taxi, they'll call their trusty cabbie, Scottie D. They'll also give you his number for a ride back to the hotel. Continental breakfast is $7 and hot breakfast buffet is $12. We did the hot breakfast buffet. You can get waffles, pancakes, French toast, omelette, etc. made for you. We got French toast, omelette, strawberry waffles, country potatoes, hash browns, hardboiled egg, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, fruits and pineapple juice - it was a good deal. I don't think I'll be back in Springfield, MA anytime soon but if I ever do come back, I'd stay here again.

The free breakfast is meh quality but hey, it's nice to have someone else cook for you regardless. There's a pool too that my kiddo enjoyed. The hotel is 2 minutes from Holyoke mall that includes a Target. We got a frozen skillet meal from Target to make for dinner our first night there. I would stay here again and recommend it to others. Edited to add: As of August 2022 the staff was not masking, nor were masks required in any area of the hotel. The guests were mixed on masking. Many with N95 masks and taking breakfast to go to eat in their rooms mixed with guests not masking or distancing.

I had a serious unresolved booking problem there for my intended stay August 9-12, 2024. At check-in I was told, in sequence, "4 rooms left," then "2 rooms left," and finally "no rooms left" for any part of my intended stay. The sequence of having been told 4, then 2, then no rooms left was especially frustrating and seemed to me retaliatory for my mild expression of dismay, consternation, and frustration. My daughters and I arrived late from Logan Airport due to Debby weather, delayed rental car, and rain on the turnpike. We were attending my parents' funeral on the 10th. I understand that all people aren't going to be best friends; however, this night manager showed zero empathy. And worse, with the cockamamie room "countdown," I felt the manager exhibited personal animus. We stayed at an alternative--a nearby Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott--which we booked ourselves. Even so, on August 12, I received from Homewood Suites by Hilton an invoice and a paid receipt for all nights of the stay, August 9, 10, and 11. The only time spent at Homewood Suites by Hilton was in the lobby at 4 a.m. with the vindictive night manager counting down "4 rooms left," then "2 rooms left," and finally "no rooms left."

We already booked a room at a different location before we knew the MGM was there. We utilized our MGM cards (MGM really supports Veterans) for parking (did not have too as it was free-LOL). We parked, toured the casino, grabbed a sandwich and took advantage of the clean restrooms. We were at the Riverside park when it started sprinkling, so went back to parking garage. We found out they had a free party going upper level of garage with a cover band. We listened to the band, grabbed some food hot off the grill for a reasonable price and prepared to view the fireworks from the cover of the garage. Mother -Nature had other plans, weather turned nasty, band shut-down, and for safety we were moved to lower levels. We still saw the fireworks and exiting afterwards was not terrible. The Staff from Security to Food Venders were polite and helpful the whole evening. They saved our families 4th of July in Springfield.

This was confirmed when I heard them talking about how much money each of them would make off of it in the elevator. I have been to many casinos including MGM and even though casinos probably have drug deals - they are by people smart enough to be discreet and not talk about it in the hallways and elevators. Not here! Springfield has a lot of Violence and drug activity and I am surprised that MGM built a casino there. They should have kept their brand at Foxwoods. Inside the casino the layout is pretty tight, slot machines are very close together. We didn't try any restaurants because we had just come from dinner. We didn't stay long - didn't like the vibe. Most likey won't go back. Seriously - sketchy. Other reviewers are right.

When I used the pool there were a bunch of dead insects floating in the water, which is strange because the pool is indoors and enclosed. The breakfast was room temp and tasted kind of stale. The last straw for me was when I was checking out. I went to leave out of the side door. I had two rolling suitcases in my hands and as soon as I opened the door, a homeless man pushed past me saying hi over and over. You could tell something was off. Come to find out, he broke one of the automated doors at the entrance and the police had to be called. I'm glad I left that day because the situation made me feel unsafe.

The Mass Mutual Center is across the street, and MGM casino is a couple of blocks away. We were able to walk to a fantastic restaurant, Nadim's on Main Street. We found a parking space in the smaller lot right behind the building. The included hot breakfast was ample, with a good variety of items. This is definitely one of the better Holiday Inn Express properties we have stayed at, and I am a platinum IHG member.

There is coffee and tea all day long and again the service at the front desk is great they help with information and directions. It was superb. We really enjoyed our stay. We will be back in October. Once we headed up to bed it was like a circus started. There were young kids running along hallway, screaming, etc. After 9 it turned into a super noisy bath - felt like it was in our room and was loud, and the water seemed to go on forever. I'm not sure of the correlation, but this morning all we wanted was a hot shower before we hit the road - water ran, ran, ran - no hot water. Called down and was told - and I'm not making this up - we can move you to another room if you want a shower. I kind of thought that was the epitome of how to not deal with a customer, but then when I mentioned the kids making noise the comment was "well, you didn't call last night so we didn't know it was noisy".
