I stayed here for one night while in town for a work training. Check-in was quick, which I appreciated. My company had prepaid for the room, but they still tried to charge me over $300 for some unclear reason so I shut that down fast. The room itself was spacious and comfortable. I especially appreciated the strong water pressure in the shower which is always a plus. I didn't try the breakfast, so can't speak to that. The hotel has a pool and fitness center, but the hallway by the pool was constantly wet from people going in and out. One thing that really bothered me was the elevator inspection certificate (I always check for some reason haha) it was expired (since 2024). Overall, not a bad stay, the room was nice. read more

We stayed here for a visit at the basketball hall of fame. We had a spacious room at the corner with king bed and has a double door. Place looks it needs updating for the carpet and new wall paint as it was teared. I dont know if the staff are thinking "it is not my job" but there was a puke on the entrance and the dining area and i saw a staff just in here phone so.. that says something. If I could give zero stars, I would. While the hotel itself was clean and the front desk staff who checked me in and out were friendly and professional, my issue lies entirely with the management--specifically the manager, Adam. This stay was part of a business trip, and my company had prepaid for the room in advance for me to attend a nearby conference. The only amount that should have been charged to my personal account was the standard $100 incidental hold, which was correctly returned two days later. However, I later discovered two unauthorized charges on my account: one for $170.64 (for a room already paid for), and another for approximately $70, with no explanation. In total, $241 was removed from my account without any communication from the hotel. Upon calling the front desk, I was informed that Mr. Adam had made the error and supposedly reversed it that same morning. When I asked for confirmation that the full amount was reversed, the staff member couldn't provide an answer and forwarded me to his voicemail. I left a message requesting a callback--which I never received. After waiting nearly five hours, I contacted the corporate office for assistance. They were able to reach him, but unfortunately, Adam was unfriendly, dismissive, and unprofessional. Rather than acknowledge the mistake, he shifted blame onto Hilton and raised his voice while speaking over me--offering no apology and no accountability. As of now, I've had to dispute the charges through my bank to recover the funds. This experience reflects poor management, a lack of transparency, and unacceptable customer service. It's a shame, as the rest of the staff and the property itself were pleasant. But this type of leadership undermines the hospitality experience entirely. read more

The hotel's location was good both from a perspective of getting there from the highway and accessing the important areas of the town. The noise was a significant issue, ranging from someone down the hall who brought some extremely yippy dogs (apparently allowed here) to persistent road noise. The hallway lights lost power for a bit for some reason. The bed was a bit too soft for me and it was tough to find a well-supported way to lie. However, I had no issues with service and had a generally easy and uneventful stay. read more

This is a great Hilton Garden Inn. I stayed here three weeks for a work project (no weekends). The staff is really nice. The wait staff for breakfast, front desk staff, even employees I encountered (I didn't ask their job function) always greeted me or held the elevator open for me while I wheeled my suitcase in. The last week of my stay, I asked to change rooms due to what I thought was cigarette smoke lingering in the room. I know it's a nonsmoking hotel, but not everyone follows the rules. The front desk staff was so accommodating getting me another room. Every room I had was clean. The attached restaurant is the Uno pizzeria. Very convenient. There are also several other good restaurants nearby! As a woman traveling alone and who is concerned about personal safety, security was visible and constant. At all hours of the day, even 3:30am catching my flight out. I felt very safe here. I thought the service and security here were impeccable. This is a hotel I will heart in the Hilton app as a loyal diamond member. I highly recommend! read more

Location is great. The staff is nice. Rooms & hotel are clean. One of the beds in our room was very uncomfortable. They used a comforter cover for a flat sheet. The duvet covers are dingy and rough to the touch. No fitted sheets on the beds, just a flat sheet laid over the mattress. The hotel did bring me a fitted sheet since The pillows are old & worn out. We got four standard pillows & two king pillow. The air conditioning unit would not keep the temperature we desired while w & our room was really warm. read more

We stayed here in July when we came to town to visit the Basketball Hall of Fame. On top of sharing a parking lot with the HOF (which was very convenient), this hotel exceeded our expectations. First and most importantly, every staff member we encountered was kind, polite, and responded to our needs efficiently. We received a text from Mike upon checking in, just to make sure everything was going ok. The room was clean and fully stocked. My kids enjoyed the pool, which was a decent size and was well-maintained. If/when we come back to town, we will definitely stay here again. read more

This hotel is right behind the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in a small town called Springfield. It's 1 mile away from the train station which is about a 22-minute walk. Also in the same parking lot are UNO Pizza, Plan B Burger, Max Tavern, etc. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The lobby is very modern, clean and cute so are the rooms. Their motif is flowers and designs in purple, gray and lime green. Toiletries are from Bath and Body Works. The room was spacious and quiet, and the bed was comfortable. The rate I got was $150/night. Wifi is free in the lobby and inside the room. They have a pool, jacuzzi and a fitness area. If you need a taxi, they'll call their trusty cabbie, Scottie D. They'll also give you his number for a ride back to the hotel. Continental breakfast is $7 and hot breakfast buffet is $12. We did the hot breakfast buffet. You can get waffles, pancakes, French toast, omelette, etc. made for you. We got French toast, omelette, strawberry waffles, country potatoes, hash browns, hardboiled egg, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, fruits and pineapple juice - it was a good deal. I don't think I'll be back in Springfield, MA anytime soon but if I ever do come back, I'd stay here again. read more

No issues there, the front desk just did not give us our meal voucher when we first checked in and also when we called the front desk at night to ask them to bring an extra comforter they said they would and they never did. So I came here on Yelp instead. Room required work. It was clean so housekeeping is not at fault. The room should not have been available. The wallpaper was peeling in several areas, with obvious attempted repairs. The furniture was also damaged. There were several other rooms available so it's not like there was no other rooms I could have chosen when I checked in via the app. Very disappointed. Easily the worst HGI. ever. I travel 50-100 days per year so while I'm not an expert on the hotel business I believe I have a pretty firm fix on what constitutes good and bad. This is something you need to know especially if you're a business traveler. The restaurant immediately adjacent to the hotel has live music 7 days a week until 10 pm. So guess what you won't be doing until they shut the hell up. The noise (music) may not be HGI's fault but the fact that you have to contend with the noise/music makes this hotel a big nope. No towels in the gym, no towels in the pool. Not sure what's up with that. They don't serve breakfast Monday thru Wednesday. Would be extremely helpful if they posted that information somewhere. Given that they do serve breakfast Thursday thru Sunday, this has nothing to do with COVID restrictions. I really wish 0 were an option because this place would get a well deserved one. This hotel hit the basics, although it was a bit run down and there was an oily puddle on the nightstand when I checked in which was disgusting. It's worth knowing that from May - September the restaurant next door has extremely loud outdoor amplified music that goes on until 10 pm. This is outside the hotel's control I assume, but it was impossible to sleep until it stopped. I won't stay here again. read more

We never book hotels but wanted to treat our family for an overnight away. There was nothing luxurious about this place. The hot tub was broken which I was so bummed about and asked if we could cancel our booking. The front desk informed me they would still charge me full price if we canceled and that there was no one else working that I could talk to. This was the middle of the day on a Sunday. So we continued on with our stay there. We have a one year old and our tub stopper was broken which made bathtime difficult. The beds were uncomfortably soft and my husband had a hard time sleeping through the night in them. The television had no guide and was basic cable- no option for movies or anything. The channels turned very slowly and the whole place was not updated at all, with popcorn ceilings. On another note, breakfast was lovely and our waitress Shy was very helpful and kind. I appreciated that check out wasn't until 12 and the pool was open from 5am-10pm. The location is great- right next to the basketball hall of fame and close to six flags. If you're looking for an amazing experience, maybe look somewhere else. But it works as a place to crash that's close to everything. read more

My mom and I finally made the trip to the Naismith Hall of Fame and stayed here. Having had a canceled train and having to book flights and busses on the fly, we were quite tired when we finally got there but were greeted by the nicest staff. In our opinion it's not exactly walkable to Union Station with alot of luggage, so we enlisted their help on getting a ride the next morning. Adam the assistant general manager was fantastic in helping us (even said he would have driven us himself if we weren't leaving before he got in). We had a little hiccup with the Uber app that morning and a very nice man who we think worked in the kitchen got us all set up for our ride. DO NOT STAY HERE. Not nearly up to normal Garden Inn standards. But that's not the worst part. Outdoor courtyard, which many rooms overlook, was the site of an all night party that finally ended at 5:19 am as I'm writing this. The front desk was generally unresponsive to my complaints and, frankly, was incapable of doing anything to stop the noise. The whole situation could have been avoided by closing the courtyard at a reasonable hour, but apparently that solution did not occur to Hilton management. Don't use this breakfast area! It isn't clear if it's self-service or a waitered area. I asked and found out it was self-service. I grab a plate of food and have a seat, ready to eat, and a hotel staff came up and told me that I wasn't allowed to eat at the "meeting" table in the lobby and that I had to eat at a "dining" table in the lobby. My family came here with a bunch of others for a local hockey tournament and we paid a decent price for a block of rooms. In the past three years I have been to about a dozen hotels that we book as a team and I can say this one has been the most disappointing. The hotel is nice enough and clean. The hotel cleaning staff have been extremely nice and friendly. I can not say the same for the front desk staff. Part of the reason we booked the hotel was for the pool. On Friday night they ended up closing the pool. Kids were literally crying, including my younger son. When I approached the front desk staff that were so rude and inconsiderate and lied to me. In three minutes I received three different excuses. First one was there were adults with glass bottles drinking. I never saw that but when I pointed out just have them leave, the front desk went on to say well there were too many kids in the pool. I then said we'll limit the kids if you have to but don't close the pool down. I was then told they have to treat the pool. Well I don't think you need to treat the pool, one hour before it is due to close anyway. Although I was not happy with the answers it was certainly more the tone and smugness I felt from the woman who told me she was the manager. The next night at the pool they closed off the hot tub to anyone under 18, though there are no official signs that day it needed to be done. The breakfast at the place is the worst run mess I have ever seen at a hotel. It is $11.00 for adults and looks like what you would get for free at most other hotels like a Hampton Inn. I did not find out, because no one in the staff told us, that you could order an omelette or French toast. So disorganized and poorly run. The food was constantly running out. I even saw one of the cooks, as he was about to put the sausages out, he picked one out, ate a bite and said to his coworker they're done, then he put out a tray of about 10. The rooms were clean and modern with very comfortable beds. I was surprised that I could not find one USB port to charge a device in. I also had to go to the front desk twice as the key cards kept not working. Then even my Hilton app phone key stopped working. I'm only a Hilton Silver member but this was my worst experience. I think this hotel needs to look at its evening staff. They were overwhelmed and could not handle the hotel with the number of younger guests here for the tournament. It made me think if there was ever an emergency I don't think they would be up to handle it. read more

We stayed at this hotel for our wedding. When I first started working with them, I would have given 1 star. We had lots of trouble with the room block prior to arrival. I don't think they ever grasped that we were a destination wedding to Springfield. We actually had to move our wedding date because they accidentally gave away our rooms. However, once everything was worked out and our group arrived, they were fantastic. Chris, Erika, and Zee in particular were huge helps. We had lots of changes to our rooms and they rolled with everything. They even added extra tables to the lobby so we could eat breakfast there. Also, the breakfast staff was fantastic. Handled our large group with ease. So, yeah, everything ended up going great there. Bonus points for having fridges and microwaves in the rooms. read more

As a Hilton diamond, this property does not measure up to Hilton standards. Nothing about their business practices are customer friendly. After you stand behind the "please wait to be seated" sign for breakfast, they say "sit anywhere and there are no seats. They suggested I ask another person if I could sit with them. The mattress was so warn out I was in a narrow trench all night. The whole place could use a deep clean as well. P.s. don't try to bring concerns to the desk as they only make excuses. They were very accommodating and it seems like they constantly book up all their rooms so there is no shortage of people staying there! That being said, they have an indoor pool and spacious rooms. I think the heating was a little wonky, but it kicked in finally to the right temperature for the season. I thought the beds were comfortable and the staff was helpful. My phone didn't work at first so I unplugged it and plugged it back in without any issues. No biggie. It's a stone's throw away from Baystate Medical Center and they provide the transportation needed to get there and back. Free wifi and plenty of free parking in their lot in front of the hotel. Overall is clean, not far from the Amtrak, facility updated and staff was friendly. Beds are comfortable, safe area but no shuttles to airport or Amtrak. You will need to take a cab. My complaints: room service has limited hours (Uno's, next door, which is attached for cold days), and heating seemed to be on the fritz (blew cold air for a while!) Not bad, but honestly, for the cost (and the name) I would expect better. read more

Loved it, loved it, loved it. This was the perfect hotel for our weekend. The lobby is beautiful and spacious, love the artwork of the flowers. The staff was so courteous, and the front desk staff were more than helpful. The room was spacious enough for me, my hubby and 2 small children. Our vent in the bathroom didn't work but thats really my only complaint. Made to order breakfast was reasonably priced, although we did drive to the IHOP down the road for breakfast. We had an awesome view if the basketball hall of fame and it's night time light show. I will say the karaoke at the attached Uno's was a little loud but did make for great laughs between me and my husband. We will definitely be coming back to this hotel when I plan another trip to Springfield. 10 min drive to Six Flags, Basketball Hall of Fame across the parking lot. There were a ton of restaurants in the area and an Uno's practically attached to it. The hotel lobby was decent, but compared to other HGI's this was below par. The room was clean, however the AC unit continues to blow air out, which is loud and kept me up at night. Also the walls are paper thin. I could here the woman staying next door to me laughing this morning at 5am :( When I went to check out- the desk clerk didn't come out of the office for a good 5 minutes. Avoid the Pantry! Unfortunately I had to stay here for 3 nights for work. When I arrived there was greeted by two friendly girls that got me checked in super fast. However, as soon as I got to my room I put in my key but noticed that my door was open. Obviously whoever left my room last didn't close it. Also, something was wrong with my door/lock so everytime I came and went I had to force my door to close. Lastly, this hotel is attached to an UNO's restaurant. Ugh.... this means that there is loud music from about 6pm - 11pm. Do not expect to get a quiet room. You WILL be able to hear the music throughout the evening. On the flip side, room service is super quick and super delicious. Next time I will stay at the Hampton Inn near Chilis. read more

As with so many of the corporate hotels, this is directly adjacent to the interstate, on the edge of downtown, and across the parking lot from the basketball hall of fame. The room was clean, the bathtub drained and the water pressure was decent. Still, I found myself being displeased with two practices. As with hotels across the nation, there is a request to save your towels; I have no problem with this practice. But please, practice what you preach! All the towels I used were removed and replaced. Another practice I found unfortunate was the removal of my toothbrush from a glass, replacing the glass, yet leaving my toothbrush sitting on the counter. I've never had this happen before, a minor infraction but kind of grossed me out. If my travels take me to Springfield....Marriott, here I come. read more

Stayed here for a two night weekend in order to have some extra time for Six Flags! The hotel staff was very pleasant and helpful. One staff member actually offered to go get his Aloe Vera from his car because there hotel store did not have any. However, the hotel lobby is more spectular then the rooms are. My room was located on the fourth floor near a gas station and I could barely get any sleep at night because of the horrible noises that were coming off of the cars that would get gas at 2am. I would reccomend being careful on where your room is located for a more pleasant stay. read more

There are a couple of decent dining options within walking distance. Front desk was well staffed and friendly and got me checked in quickly. Breakfast server was very friendly and the food was good. The room was clean and appointed as expected at a Hilton Garden Inn. The room was fairly quiet. My only issue was that the bed sagged like a hammock. Don't stay here! Dirty linen, noisy guests, the General Manager turns concerns raised into a grudge match. The front desk was non responsive to requests for clean linen and eventually sent a security guard with the task. He brought a mattress pad instead of the comforter requested after a 45 minute wait. The breakfast area is congested and the food was poorly prepared. For the money you would be better off at a discounted hotel like LaQuinta. I will gladly return to my Marriott membership and clean bed coverings! We were expecting a beautiful, updated room for the price and location next to the Basketball Hall of Fame and CT River. First the positives: the entry and breakfast area were attractive and the $12 breakfast was very fresh and organized with buffet or made-to-order. It was probably my favorite hotel breakfast, with a real kitchen, well-cooked food, and fast attentive staff. Parking was fine, the beds were comfortable, our room was quiet. Temp control average. Check-in and check-out were quick. Now the negatives: the room was very big but drab, dark, and kind of dirty! There were dusty cobwebs on the ceiling and the pillows seemed old. The comforter on the bed was not encased in fresh sheets. The bathroom did not have an extra ventilation fan, and there was barely any room around the sink for personal items. The shower had double curtain and a low tub, and OK water flow only. The hairdryer hung in a ratty looking cloth bag from the bathroom door. The coffee from the coffeemaker in the morning tasted like instant packet type. Luckily, we enjoyed the coffee and breakfast in the lobby. So the bottom line is that the staff and $12 breakfast are pleasant but the rooms are nothing special for the cost. I prefer the Fairfield Inn, a little farther south off Rte91, in Enfield CT. read more
