Incredible stay on a busy weekend. There were two events happening this weekend a kids hockey tournament and a dog show. The hotel was pretty full and the staff did a great job. They were all friendly and helpful. Everything was managed very efficiently and despite being busy everything ran smoothly. The hotel itself has a couple years on it (not old enough to need a remodel) but was well maintained and really nice. Everything was clean and didn't show signs of wear. The bed was extremely comfortable, my wife and I slept like royalty (which is not usually the case even at home). The bathroom was well maintained and spacious. Lastly the breakfast. While it had the normal "Hilton" layout the quality was better than usual. Sure the scrambled eggs were the typical powdered eggs but there were options that were unique. Such as the French toast sticks, lemon poppyseed and blueberry scones, zucchini nut muffin and a few other things I can't recall. Definitely recommend staying here and I am adding it to my Hilton favorites in case I am back in the area. If you stay I hope your experience is as good as ours was. read more

A stay in a cheapo truck-stop motel would have been far better! I had no idea the A/C was motion-activated and would SHUT OFF overnight and when no one was in the room. It was 90 degrees the day I stayed there. I called the front desk for instructions on how to override the temp settings on the wall unit and was told, "There's no way to do that - - but I can lend you a fan." Seriously? The window coverings were also a joke. Nothing "room-darkening" going on there. There was a perforated, see-through shade under a darker gray shade that only pulled HALFWAY down the window! WHY??? I mentioned my concerns to the front desk rep upon checkout the next morning as was told, "Hmm, no one ever complained about the A/C or the lack of window coverings before." Yup. How is this OK? If the hotel was pretending to cut off the A/C and heat (in the winter) as some sort of fabulous "green initiative", wouldn't they mention it - - no brag about it - - in their room descriptions? Shouldn't they be REQUIRED to mention it in their room descriptions? I would have never stayed there if they'd been truthful about their "amenities". Where are the consumer watchdogs? Clean, comfortable, competent - no real complaints about this Hampton Inn. Lives up to and maintains the standard expected of this brand! It's easy to access from I-91 and conveniently, it's across from a shopping mall (and Target store) with a number of restaurants nearby (most conveniently, there is a Longhorn Steakhouse right next door if you don't feel like driving). The complimentary hot breakfast is always welcome (on this stay: western omelets, ham, pastries, fruit, oatmeal, waffles, cereals, yogurts) and the staff was pleasant and courteous. Bedrooms were quiet enough, good water pressure, and beds were comfortable. read more

My family and I had an extended stay recently and were truly amazed by the professionalism and caring nature of each staff member people we met - all of whom treated us more like extended family than guests. If I could give this hotel six stars, I would. I have been to many, many hotels, and most have done many things well. This Hilton does everything well. From the well-cared for, clean room, to the quiet atmosphere even near busy shopping, to the friendly, helpful staff (Thank you Sharon, Sandra, Temika, Rita, and Gabriel), my stay couldn't have been more pleasant. I have gotten jaded about asking the kitchen what kind of oils they use, because the answer is almost always Canola, which I consider to be toxic due to hexane residue). I was tired, at the this local hotel due to a bad storm and power outage in 100 degree heat, so I broke my own rules and decided to eat the egg omelet, potatoes, bacon, and even a pastry. I thought, oh well, I'll ask as a rubber stamp since I need to be fair in my reviews. Amazing. Rita in the kitchen answered: "We don't use any oil. We bake them." I was flabbergasted. I almost indulged in seconds--whoa. In my book, that alone makes this a high-quality, caring Hilton. I will now freely recommend it to our guests, friends and y'all reading this. Their TLC and good choices made this high-anxiety reason for staying very, very uplifting. read more

Had to go for a wedding, unfortunately I was unable to make my reservations for the block reservations for the wedding before the deadline due to my mother-in-law being in hospice care and dying. I called two days after the cut off date to make my reservations and was informed that the rate instead of being $150 a night was gonna be almost $300 a night. I explain to them why I hadn't called due to the fact that I was dealing with my mother-in-law passing away And their response to me was if you don't like my rates go someplace else. They had absolutely zero compassion all they cared about was the dollars. Granted I did end up staying there because everybody who was going to the wedding was staying there which was the only reason why I stayed there. I paid $300 a night to open my curtains to my windows only to see a wall in the vent. I have stayed in many hotels in my time but I have never stayed at a hotel who only cared about the money not about the customer. I would rather stay at a quality inn, Comfort inn, best western or any other hotel. I will never ever stay at another Hampton Inn. Even when I contacted corporate asking them if there was anything that they could do to help they basically blew me off. They may have nice rooms, but they don't give a rats ass about their customers all they care about is the money. read more

We were forced to stay an extra night due to flight cancelations from Hurricane Henri. I figured a room rate drop but nope. It's the little things that you would expect from Hampton. But sadly nope. Uncharacteristically disappointing. Upon arrival I found part of a disposable razor on the bathroom floor, which I should have picked up, but touching toiletries used by others isn't my thing, so I left it and fully expected the housekeeper to remove it the next day. I expected wrong. Our used towels were replaced but the used shampoo, conditioner and soap were not, and the razor cover remained where I found it on the floor. One of my fav things about traveling is arriving back to a hotel after a long busy day and climbing into a tightly made bed that someone else made. But not here. Because I left my own personal pillow on it, the bed was not made -- or so was the excuse I was given when I politely inquired. If that's the case, why was the bed made at every single Hilton-affiliated lodging establishment in which we have stayed for the last 24 nights? On a semi-bright note, the slow-draining tub drained was snaked as promised while we were out for the day. Upon subsequent use, water again accumulated around my ankles, but this time part of a wad of hair peeked up from the drain. Once I removed it the water drained properly. At a weekday rate of nearly $200 per night, we expected so much more than what we got. So much for "Silver" HHonors status. We won't be back. read more

I am staying at the lovely Hampton Inn for two nights on a business trip. I never thought I would find myself in Enfield. However, KAREN, the sweetest woman in the world was there to greet us with a genuine smile and an offering of cookies. I made a comment on how great the cookies were, so while I was out to dinner, Karen made it her responsibility to tie a bag of cookies to my door. I have stayed at some great hotels, but never have I met anyone as genuine as this woman. She was very helpful with everything I asked for. When I walked outside in the middle of the night, she noticed I was having trouble sleeping. So she kindly made me a cup of sleepy time tea. Her generosity astounds me. I wish that I could give her a raise, buy her a mansion on the beach, you know, that type of thing. I don't yelp very often, but I just had to. Thank you Karen. Ps. What I like about Hampton Inns is the consistency. The night time manager was always so friendly as we came and went. Also, the pool is great for the kids as well as available coffee 24-7. This particular had a complimentary gift wrap station which was greatly appreciated. read more

This lovely hotel is located only minutes away from Six Flags, which is why we were in the area. It ended up raining, but because there were so many shopping options around the hotel, we weren't bored! The staff was very friendly. They offer a hot, complimentary breakfast in the morning. The egg and cheese omelets didn't look trustworthy, but the potatoes and waffles won me over. There is a swimming pool, hot tub, laundry room, and gym area. We reserved a king sized, non-smoking room. The floors were a little damp and sticky, but everything else was pristine! They wash all the sheets and the duvet (which, as a borderline germophobe, I appreciated). Our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. read more

Always a pleasant stay. Check in and check out are impressively smooth. The last time we were here we had a plumbing issue due to toilet didn't flush. We called the front desk and they sent someone right up and within minutes everything was taken care of. The bed was very comfortable, even a little bouncy if you are into that. Ok surprised! Not clean at all had house keeping clean 1/2 skum ring around handicap bar in shower off. They didn't get to the red mold in corner's. Something was splashed on the bathroom inside door casing.Other unidentified cream smeared by toilet Hair bands on floor by side of bed. Tired went to sleep. Breakfast not what it used to be. Half the usual items missing from the usual line up. Yes It's comp,Free. But it did not reflect our last stay & we are her about 3 times a year. I booked 2 rooms at this hotel Via Hilton Honors, 1 room I used HH Points the 2nd room a Credit Card, when checking into the 2nd room, I was asked for my CC, License & AAA card since the rate was a AAA rate, I do not carry my AAA card but have it on my AAA APP. The girl at the counter would not accept it, needed card THIS Hotels Policy, she stated she would change the rate, I stated very clearly that Hilton Honors has my AAA on file, I stay at Hiltons for business & have never been asked for my card, besides it was on my APP. She checked us in no other issues. the day we checked out the bill was under the rooms door no price issues. After dropping off the key I spoke to the manager Richard Austerman about the AAA issue, he again asked me for my card which at this point my Cell was in my car, when I said I do not carry it but only in the AAA App, he stated " THEN YOU DO NOT HAVE A AAA CARD AND YOU ARE A LIAR"???? Really this is how you treat a HH member, we spoke some more & I left, KNOWING I WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN!!. Today while reviewing my Credit Card account I noticed a 2nd charge from the Hampton Inn, I called and again I spoke with Richard Austerman the Manager, he stated " YOU DID NOT HAVE A AAA CARD SO I CHANGED & CHARGED YOU THE REGULAR RATE". WHAT? As a long standing Hilton Honors member I can not believe how they treated me. 2 other things of note, if you need soda, water, milk or snacks they DO NOT have a pantry to buy these & charge to your room, they have vending machines that only take change, this hotel is stuck in the PAST....NEVER STAY HERE!!! The other after speaking with Hilton Honors today they are crediting me the difference from the original bill to the MANAGERS bill, THANK YOU HILTON HONORS. I'm traveling for work and checked into this Hampton Inn yesterday. I was greeted by a wonderful woman who offered restaurant and entertainment suggestions. I jumped on Yelp after checking in to see how the hotel rated (yeah, I booked before I checked), and noticed another reviewer was greeted by this same wonderful woman; it's KAREN! I have never before been greeted as warmly every single time I enter the hotel as I have while staying here. It makes me wish I traveled through this area for work more often! We stayed at this Hampton Inn for a wedding. The staff was wonderful and tried to accommodate everyone as best as they could. There was a slight issue with a tv, but they were quick to act. It was a bit pricey for what I expected, but am happy it was clean. There is an indoor pool which also looked clean. Breakfast had great options and was included in the price of our room. I have been really pleased with the accommodations, cleanliness and customer service here. I have traveled extensively and when I come to the northeast, THIS is where I hang my hat. It is not the 4seasons or Ritz but frankly I'm not looking for that experience when traveling to CT/MA//NY. I want something off the high priced merry-go-round of NYC and it allows me to have free parking - free hot breakfast - and pool/spa on site. We have walked to Longhorn for dinner ( I normally hate chains, but this one in particular is run well because it's busy) or there are AMAHZiiinnnnngggg Italian restaurants that are family owned and I guarantee they are worth the stop through. Nice staff, very accommodating which is a lost art today. You have options, try this one and love their comfy beds and silky sheets. read more

After a 9 day road trip thru the New England States we needed a hotel with a jacuzzi. This place wasn't close to the airport and doesn't offer a shuttle, but having the jacuzzi was important to us so we figured we'd get an Uber driver to the airport in the morning. We got to the hotel only to find that the jacuzzi was being repaired. We had deliberately gotten this place for the jacuzzi! The front desk staff booked us in their sister hotel Hampton Inn Hartford Airport (which is more expensive than the Hampton Inn Springfield South) for the same price and since this hotel doesn't offer shuttle service the General manager drove us personally to the Hampton by the airport! They went waaay out of their way to accommodate us and we're very grateful and impressed with their customer service. The GM even went inside with us to tell the new hotel to send the difference in the cost of the room to them and the new hotel said that wasn't necessary, that they would absorb the cost...and, this hotel offers airport shuttle service so we've saved on an Uber driver. Great place, very friendly and they mean it when they say they want you to be satisfied with their service! read more

This isn't the finest hotel I've ever stayed in, but it's the finest Hampton Inn I've been in. My husband and I have stayed here several times, and we have always found our room perfectly clean, the staff friendly, and the breakfast very good. In our 5 stays, we didn't have a single complaint EXCEPT for a situation that didn't result from the Hampton Inn itself. We happened to stay one weekend when a youth hockey tournament was going on. Kids running around, shouting in the hallways until someone from another room yelled at them to find their parents, and completely inconsiderate behavior in the dining area which is usually nearly spotless. Food was spilled and left on the dining chairs and around the tables, their dirty plates and cups where simply walked away from, pushing between other hotel guests trying to get their breakfast, all while the hockey parents enjoyed themselves as they sat together socializing without supervising. Now I might just be an old curmudgeon complaining, but I'm not that old and I raised three children and I have to say, if your child is old enough to play hockey, your child is old enough to learn how to behave in a public space. I applaud the employees at this Hampton Inn in their attempt to minimize the disturbance. read more

Be warned. Non smoking rooms are on floors with smoking rooms and they don't communicate this to you. If you have breathing issues, or just don't want to smell smoke, find another hotel. No market place and front desk person stated that "Hampton doesn't does those." My credit card from many other cities says otherwise. Enjoy your stay in another hotel. read more
