This place is trash. It's a roach motel with a La Quinta sign. I drove 4.5 hours from Dallas to come here for work. I had to wait nearly 20 mins in the lobby and kept calling the front desk over and over again. No one was manning the desk or answering calls. I was ready to put my bags down already! He finally appeared. The shower actually buckled. There was no soap dish in the tub. The pillows are lumpy squares. The peephole already had toilet paper smashed inside. Not a nice place. The kind of place where the doors open to the parking lot and you can hear your neighbor coughing through the wall. Glad its only one night. Most La Quintas are nice and clean; not this one. I wish Experian had real reviews for this place, because its rated 3.8/5 on there. I tried writing one and they rejected it. This place may suit a solo or budget traveler, but not a good place for a family with kids. Glad I was alone. Hard pass. read more

Once we made it to the hotel after an 11 hour drive we noticed one of the beds were broken, the light was flickering, and the tv didn't turn on, the floor was very sticky like is hasn't been cleaned in months, the mini fridge was leaking water everywhere, and we found roaches. We immediately left the hotel after being there for only like an hour. You know I gave this place my business for the last year and a half, and I did so because the prices were reasonable so I saved my company some money. The final straw was about 4 weeks ago I woke up at 1am feeling like I was on fire. I found a gigantic bed bug in the bed and it had bitten me 15 times all over my body. I went to talk to the manager/owner the next morning and he lied to me about who he was! I stayed in your motel for the last year and a half idiot, I know exactly who you are! I called him out on lying to me and showed him the pictures of the bed bug. He acted like it wasn't his problem. Lufkin La Quinta was a horrible experience. I called for reservation on your 1- 888 number for 2 different hotel stays. The first in Houston was good. I kept my room clean and picked up after my dogs. That hotel is "pet friendly". Later in the week I arrived at the Lufkin, Tx hotel and the person/manager asked if I had pets. I replied yes. He then informed me of $25 per dog, per night! I told him I was not told about pet fee when I call 1-888 numbers and that the website for the Lufkin hotel said it was "pet friendly". He then told me "tough, I had to pay the fee". This fee doubled the price of the room! That is not really 'per friendly!" Yes, I complained to him since many of your hotels do not charge this fee and many have waived or reduced since I stay at La Quinta's so often and have trained dogs. Instead of continuing to argue, I said fine and I would contact corporate when I got home about issue. He said "if you are going to cause trouble, you can leave". I said "nope, no worries, just charge me and I will take it up with corporate". He said "I will not check you in and you can leave". Well his response was nasty. I said "fine cancel my reservation" He said "no" and then again he told me to leave!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The manager was rude and hostile toward me and I feared for my safety. read more

Cynthia is very unprofessional. She will take your money if you book your hotel for several days when you don't call to say that you are late because of personal reasons. Even when the agency who booked you the hotel calls and trys to get you in for the rest of your stay, she will not honor it because it is her hotel not La Quinta Inn. I'm not sure why this La Quinta has so few stars. It doesn't have the amenities of a five-star resort, but you aren't paying for a five-star resort. For the price paid, this room was great. The clerks working at the front desk were all very nice and polite. The room was clean. The bed slept great and the bedding was new. The bathroom was a little outdated, but it was clean and the towels were new and fluffy. TV and remote were good. Mini-frig was cold. I have stayed in $200 a night rooms where I had to go to the front-desk for remote batteries or have the refrigerator changed out. The front desk clerk called the room after we had time to get settled to ask if the room was in satisfactory shape. I can say that typically hasn't happened in the hotels we've stayed at from other La Quinta Inns to Ritz. If traveling through Lufkin again, we'd stay here again. read more

The sink wouldn't drain either and there was dirt in the door frame as well (see photos). The GM, Patel, would not give us a refund even though we didn't stay the night. I stayed at this location for one night. Its an older "1970s/1980s" style motor hotel, and I was surprised that its priced a bit higher than similar older La Quintas that I have stayed at in other nearby towns. My room was clean and in good repair, however the roach infestation negated those positive aspects. I killed over five roaches in the room during my stay -- including the roach that woke me up at 7am as it crawled across my face! After I killed the roach that crawled across my face, I put it in a styrofoam cup and took it to the front desk. They were grossed out about it it and said they would let housekeeping know. No apologies from staff. I checked out later that day and the next day emailed the general manager to let him know my dissatisfaction. Within 15 minutes I received an email apologizing for the issue and letting me know that they had closed the room off for extermination service. They also refunded me my hotel charge for the night. Had there not been a roach issue, and a front desk staff that seemed unapologetic, this location would have received three stars from me. One star is being generous!! I have absolutely had it with this hotel. It is not "pet friendly" unless you consider the roaches pets. One week they clean my room no issue. I'm really torn in my review. We stay at La Quinta across the country because we have a really large dog and LQ always accommodates. This is an older building that's looks a bit seedy. The price reflects the elderly nature. Our 2 queen bed room was exceedingly small by LQ standards but ni modo. I would not walk across the carpet in bare feet ever! It is squished thin with years of traffic and dirt and many pounds of carpet refresher. The sink counter had a previous occupant's beard shavings. Ew! The bed linens were crisp and fresh but the mattress itself is far too old/soft for anyone. I ended up sleeping on my side on the furthest edge of the bed to alleviate back and neck pain each time I was awakened by it through the tonight. And, despite being close to US 59, I experienced an unusually quiet night for a hotel. In the end, you decide. read more

This is the worst la Quinta I have ever stayed at. I was going to give 3 stars but after contemplating I'm going with only 2. Beginning with the check-in process, I was in town for a wedding happening at 4pm that afternoon. I knew their check-in is at 3pm so I called before 10am that morning to ask about early check-in and they told me I could check in as early as 2 so I would have enough time to get ready and drive to the wedding in the next town. I arrived about 2:15 and they informed me the room was not going to be ready for at least half an hour. There was both a man and a woman behind the desk. The woman was mostly on her personal phone while the man did the check ins. I wait the time and come back inside and the woman at the desk tells me that I cannot check in since my brother in law made the reservation and no one else was on the account, even though my sister had added my name to the reservation. The man then informs me that even though our reserved room is still not ready, they have other rooms available to pay for and get checked into. How come empty rooms are ready before the ones reserved for that night? I asked him how that helps and he said I could pay for a second room and get in right away. My sister calls to tell them that I am on the account and I watched the woman behind the desk put her on hold and go back to her phone. I text me sister (who tells me she's on hold with them) so she hangs up, calls back, and the woman did the same thing, put her on hold and gets back on her cell phone. It was now 3:30 and they still said our room isn't ready so my husband went ahead and paid for a single room so we could change and get to the wedding now going to be late. The shower head was broken and leaking but we didn't have time to complain about that. Later that night After the wedding we go to the hotel and get in the double room we originally booked. There was no crib which we had requested, the room smelled like pee, there was a big spider web in the corner by the a/c unit, the mini fridge and microwave did not work, the light bulbs in one lamp were burnt out, the latch to lock the door was broken and hanging off, and there was no extra towels as requested either. There was however plenty of hookers hanging around to choose from which could be a plus for someone I guess. The walls are so thin and the door did not properly seal so we could hear conversations outside clearly. I now know all about someone's deer lease and the redheads pricing for the night. Take your money elsewhere. There are plenty of other cheap hotels in the area in much nicer locations. read more

This hotel was horrible punan when we went to go talk to him about the hotel and getting our $100 deposit back he told us that we could not there was to much damage he could not tell us what the damage was but the beds were dirty the bathroom floor was flooded from the toilet and when we told him he said they couldn't do anything about it punan was very very rude when he was talking to us when I tried to video and he told me to stop fu*king videoing and didn't even ask me nicely he started yelling at us and being very disrespectful towards my mom and told us to get off of the property without us having our stuff we went back to the hotel and stared to get our stuff he flowed us back and told us to leave without our stuff or he was calling the police. This was by far the worst hotel I've stayed in. The rooms are disgusting. It smells, there are stains all over the walls. The air conditioner did not work so the night was not enjoyable trying to sleep during a Texas summer night.The area surrounding is not the safest. There are a number of questionable characters hanging around . The guests hitting on your wife as she walks the stairwell is one thing but one of La Quinta's staff members attempted to offer my wife his phone number which I found to be quite unprofessional and flat out distasteful. By all means though, stay here if you enjoy this type of stuff and you won't be surprised to have the same experience as I did . read more

My parents where moving to Texas from out of state and found themselves needed to make an unexpected stop for the night at the nearest hotel. they came across this LaQuinta and where easily able to park their moving truck and get night-time accommodations. My mom said that the staff was personable and helpful. They where quickly checked in and sleeping off body aches and head aches. The next day they had breakfast and continued on their journey. Well they where in such a hurry to get back that a bottle of prescription medicine was left behind! My mom had no idea what happened to them till she got a call from someone at LaQuinta letting her know. I called them back to pay for it to be mailed to us, but when I got off the phone they called back to let us know not to worry about it and sent them to us at no cost! I just didn't think business did this any more.. taking the time to tell customers they forgot something & giving them the opportunity to claim it. This place still knows what customer service is and I wouldn't hesitate to send family and friends there for a stay. Keep up the great work! You are a dying breed! read more

Manager Bob was nice and accommodating. My room was nice, and clean. Modern TV and bed was comfortable. good water pressure. Lufkin tap water is the worst I've tasted in my life. Not that I drink it, but I had to shower in it. These three guys next door to me were the most UNcourteous people you could ever ask for. They were there the whole entire stay I was there ( 3 days). I had to call the manager on them at least once for a noise complaint. Just talking loud outside their room and it traveled through the thin walls... drinking beer right outside their door (and mine) and talking on their cell phones, and one of the jerks threw out their cigarette butt next to my truck whilst he was on his cell phone yapping, the a$$hole. Only reason I didn't shove their heads into the wall is because I didn't have time to stay in jail. This place attracts tough crowds, but decent hotel. read more

I stayed at this motel for a total of 29 nights and had 4 different rooms in that time. The worst issue I had was being put to the opposite end of the building from wifi and it dropped a lot. The motel was from packed busy to some night I was the only one there. I enjoyed the stay, it wasn't perfect, but it did save me from my nightmare at the executive inn next door. The only thing was when we checked out on Monday June 20th at 6:30 am my husband left his brand new shoes!!! We live in Houston and so he called the Lufkin LaQuinta and spoke with the woman who checked him out she said the housekeeper hadn't gone in the room, but she was going to get back with him however his sister lives in Lufkin she went to LaQuinta and asked the same woman about the shoes. The woman was mad asked her what she came to the hotel began to argue long story short the housekeeper hadn't cleaned the room and the shoes were no where to be found. Giving this hotel one star is being generous, we arrived and was suppose to have a suite which should have two rooms and it was a very dirty room with a double bed and a pull out bed in the couch instead of a king and pull out bed. There was also a dirty wash cloth in the room and stains all over the floor. We moved to a different room but needless to say I am not comfortable staying here but don't have much choice since we arrived late to see family. When we got there, the room had yet to be cleaned. Our sheets had not been changed and there were hairs all over the bathroom floor. The manager was very apologetic, but he still made us change our own sheets and vacuum the room. They gave us the night free though. The following day, housekeeping didn't clean our room again.
